Hi,
I got the European G4 model and I tried to change the strength of the tap vibration to make it a bit stronger as it is very soft and barely noticeable. When in the menu:
Settings > Sounds and notifications > Vibration strength
I can move the slider for call & notification around and I can feel the difference between the lowest setting and the highest. When changing the strength for "Vibrate on tap" I can't notice any difference, the strength of the vibration seems the same no matter what level I set it to.
Anyone else having this issue?
Thanks
b3n
The difference is very slight.

Is there a way to adjust or lower the vibrate strength while typing? I don't mind the strong vibrate for notifications but the keyboard vibrate is too strong. It's almost distracting.
I thought the vibrate strength on the nexus one keyboard was more appropriate.
Mine seems ok. But I don't know of a way to change it other then to turn it off.
Search for SwiftKey on the market. It is an alternative keyboard with this function.

My Xperia ZL keeps dimming its screen automatically every time when the phone gets warm, it's very annoying since it happens on my previous Xperia S as well, I can't find "Auto Adjust Screen Tone" setting or check box in display settings.
How can or can I disable the Auto Adjust Screen Tone on my ZL?
As far I'm aware, It's in the Display>Brightness setting, and turn off "Adapt to lightning conditions".

There should be two different settings on android, Adapt to lightning conditions n Auto adjust screen tone.

There are two factors that automatically adjust screen brightness.
First is based on ambient light. It will set backlight brighter if you are in brighter place, and dim it if you move to dark. It could be controlled or even disabled in "display" settings menu.
Second one is "dynamic contrast". It sets brightness of backlight based on currently displayed image. For example "dull", low contrast image will have backlight reduced to save power, while image with more contrast will have brighter backlight. This can't be switched off or controlled by any apps, from what I know even custom ROMs still have it on, probably it's hardware-controlled.
I've seen this nice mode (on video reviews, probably all non-verizon models) of being able to adjust the relative auto-brightness levels in the notification bar area. The idea is that you can tweak up or down the brightness, brightness still adjusts automatically, but to a lower (or higher) level based on how you've set it.
Obviously missing now, but why? Anyone else notice this? Wonder if there's a hidden setting somewhere to enable this functionality.
I've noticed that in my pitch black room the auto-brightness only drops to like 25% brightness which is insanely aggravating. I can manually turn it down MUCH lower which is how low it should go by default. Hopefully finding a way to do what you're talking about can fix my issue also.
Ya I noticed auto is way too high in complete darkness. Can only go to manual to get brightness down to a comfortable level. From what I've seen the auto brightness tweaks would probably help in this scenario.

The International phones are the ones that have that auto brightness setting. The only other way that I know of is to use the wanam xposed module
I hope the retail version will get root soon, I'm sooo frustrated right now. Smh!

Just wondering if it were possible to adjust vibration intensity when a notification arrives?...anyone?

This should be in Q&A as it's not related to an app, theme or mod.
Also would like to know about this. Vibration seems to be loud, but not easy to feel in my pocket.
I agree, vibration is too soft to rely on in the pocket
Any update on how to improve this? My moto x pure has a great vibration intensity and I'm hesitant to give that up...

Still no luck? I can't feel the thing vibrate at all

You need a kernel with the ability to adjust that.
If u got root, I'm currently on ElementalX kernel and I just adjusted vibrate intensity. Definitely a improvement.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
But ElementalX only lets you increase vibration for stuff like button presses.
So you're capable of going from stock settings of maybe 50% vibration up to stock system max 100% vibration.
But overall system max vibration remains at 100%.
You can't go higher than that.
So stuff like text message alerts and incoming call alerts will remain at current stock 100% vibration levels.
Count me among those who want more vibration!
...and a brighter LED alert as well.
As a workaround, I use my Textra SMS app's built in ability to change the vibration style.
I set it to multiple long vibrations instead of the stock single vibration.
It does help a little to make it more noticeable when I get a text when the phone is in my pocket.
You are right. Main reason for me to flash El-X was the vibration thingy, but the default vibration is already set at highest, you can't go higher than that. You can, but the haptik feedback one, that's completely an unneeded feature for me. So if anyone is looking for actual device vibration, then no, custom kernel won't allow to increase it, you can decrease it though, not that's the point.
So the vibration strength on the P2 is very weak - to the point that often it cannot be felt in a pocket.
Do any of the custom ROMs provide a Vibration Intensity setting where vibration strength can be raised? By default, is the setting already at the highest level, or can it be made stronger? Please note, I'm not talking about vibration patterns - such as a long or short vibrate - rather actual vibration strength from the vibration motor itself.... Many thanks everyone!

I think the los14.1 by highway star does have this feature
In my Lenovo P2 stock ROM there is no problem about low vibration feedback. I think there is some bug in your device or it is a some type of hardware problem.

I'm astonished to hear that! You don't think it's far too weak for notifications/calls when on Silent-mode?

My phone is 2 metre away from me and I still heard & Feel the vibrations. And one more thing use body massage vibration app from Playstore to check vibration intensity.

Not so much about hearing them - more about feeling them when the phone is in my pocket. I just don't, and have read many others have the same issue.
With custom kernel you can get custom vibration intensity, but not all custom kernel has it.
