DemiGod Crash Handler: Kernel Crash - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
I recently discovered the possibility of flashing custom rome to my LG G3. I flashed Resurrection Remix(5.1.1), and was told that Liquid smooth(5.0.1) has better battery life. I proceeded to download the rom (I didn't download Gapps because i already had Gapps from resurrection remix) to my SD card. I charged my phone up to 100%, booted to custom recovery( TWRP), backed up every thing, wiped(factory reset), and flashed the rom. Up until here everything went fine. When I was going to flash the Gapps I saw that they are for android 5.1 and decided I would skip that and continue to install them after I boot and download the correct files.
I proceeded to boot into system, I saw the LG boot logo, the liquid smooth boot animation started, and then I got this screen:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Kernel Crash

DemiGod Crash Handler : Kernel Crash
Press Key to chose Dload or Reboot.
1) Volume Up : Dload Mode.
2) Volume Down : Reboot.
If you choose Dload Mode,
Please do the following action,
1) Dload mode, Please connect USB
2) Got the ram dump image using QPST Configuration.

When I try to reboot by pressing volume down it reboots in the same way back to this screen, when I try download mode(although i have no idea what I can do with it) it says "Volume Up: Jumping to Dload mode.
Please help me, I have no idea what to do and am not familiar with logs and .kdz and such...

On this page(http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-liquidsmooth-v4-0-t2955089) the OP states:"Some users Report that the normal variant also give kernel crash to 2GB RAM models. So make sure to make backup before flashing, i try to fix, but i can just blind fix because i own the 3GB RAM model." Since you have the 2gb model you seem to have this issue. I guess read through the thread and see if there is a fix available...or maybe try a different d855 kernel? (I have a vs985 so I can't give any info/advice on that)
Or just use a different ROM. LS hasn't been updated in a while...unfortunately...I kinda miss it.

After a full day of reading tutorials on the internet and playing with the buttons on my Phone (to enter any mode).. I was finally able to enter recovery.
I pressed volume down to reboot, and then while the screen was black I pressed the power button and the volume down together, and as soon as I saw the LG logo I released the buttons and immediately pressed them again. After that I got into an LG screen (might be download mode?), that asked if I want to restore back to stock, I said no and then it rebooted into recovery, from there I flashed resurrection remix again and my phone booted normally.
Hi! I had the same problem with my LG G3 (Sprint LS990/3GB). I took it in to Sprint repair because it would not boot and when I came back they showed me this error on the screen then told me that it is rooted I would have to call a third party repair place. I could have swron I unrooted the thing but anyways. Problem is when I tryed to reboot it to go into dl mode the phone will not stay on for more than 20 secs, making it impossible to recover it. Has anyone else had this problem?
When i was on blisspop i had same problem so i flashed cm12 but the problem was not fixed but after flashing cloudyg3 everything works fine also on blisspop, now its 7-8month never had kernel crash again, So basically flash any stock based rom. But it will be more better if u flash kdz or tot from lg flash tool.

When this kernel crash occurs, it can not boot to Download Mode or recovery mode. How can you flash to Cloudyg3 without recovery mode??

It didn't apply on me.. I have remove the battery million time and left the battery off over night. It keep boot in Kernel Crash mode. On the Kernel Crash mode, it has a option to enter the Dload mode by press the up volume key. It keep hang in Kernel Crash mode, after i pressed. Any another suggestion or anyone ?
Maybe I should consider hard bricked and using qhusb 9008 fix
Fix for me: Remove battery and put back, power on (several times) --> then the green screen gone away - now i can use the phone normally.
My situation:
- LG G3 D855 (international)
- Error: restart constantly
- Then I install another stock os wih Europe version
- Then it run well (4-5 hours) before getting the green screen
- ... (search in forum and google)
- Finally I foud that way to fix it.
That's all for the end

I really think this is a hardware related problem. Some success with all of these various methods, but even if it boots to a workable android, eventually it freezes. There are no real solutions, but to open the phone, and find the offending parts. Maybe some heatsink grease( there was always a lot of heat by the buttons, and camera module). Best thing that's happened, is it stayed on, til I turned it off, then it was back to the demigod when I turned it back on again. Seems like it's a problem with all LG phones.

Yes I have this problem with my LG G3 now. Looking for a fix. Wont stay in download mode long enough to do anything.
I had this too (with AT&T D850). I tried a lot of stuff. Putting the phone in the freezer for a few min and directly afterwards flashing actually allowed me to successfully flash stock via download mode but it would go back to crashing shortly after that. Ultimately I could not solve it, apparently it was a hardware issue.

Help!!! Can't boot into recovery
Help, i installed the twrp recovery and went about installing a rom but when i went to wipe the phone i wiped everything. So now when i try to boot into recovery it just shows the lg logo with the l.e.d cycling. No idea what to do please help.
Can you get into download mode, If so you can flash the stock .kdz for your device with the lg flash tool and you will a stock functioning phone agin. Then you can root and install TWRP again if you would like just like you did the first time. But make SURE that you use CORRECT kdz for your device model remove the batteries and under you should she something like this eith the X being numbers or letters: LG-XXXXX find the .kdz for the XXXXX value and flash it with the lg flash tool
Thanks alot, its working but its taking its time still only at 14%

G3 boots into firmware update only I recently updated my lg G3 ( Google patch update named Aug-18-2015 etc) and it started to malfunction with resets, crashing and eventually got it stuck in boot loop. Then it booted into a green screen that said "demigod crash handler/tz crash" thrice. Instead of a hard reset I decided to using the lg mobile support tool to fix it. During the upgrade recovery my phone went into download mode/firmware update. I could see the progress bar moving and then get stuck and my mobile would switch off. Took out the battery, disconnected and reconnected the phone and tried the process all over again but in vain. I repeated this at least 8 times and eventually gave up. Now my phone is basically useless and only boots into firmware update. Hard reset doesn't work either. Can somebody please help me fix this? Android version : 5.0 Kernel: 3.4.0 Firmware : v20t-ame-xx
Go to the site: http://lgg3root.com/lg-g3-root/how-to-unrootunbrick-lg-g3/ and search for your device and message me back if it works

Random Reboots and Bootloops
I flashed 30c firmware with flashtool 2014 over rooted 21a (i think) on my D855 from Greece. I selected the normal flash to keep my files and apps, phone mode: DIAG and didn't clear the update registry. Phone worked normal for a week and then went into a boot loop. The phone randomly restarts and goes into loops for a while and then snaps out of it. I have tried the following and none have fixed the issue: -Replaced the battery. -Upgraded to 30f over lg pc suite hoping it would fix it but it didn't. -Flashed 30c and 30f over LG Flash tool with CS_EMERGENCY mode and cleared the updated registry. -LG Flash tool wont flash any older lollipop kdz I tried. The phone screen flashes once but stays at 0% and then I receive a phone disconnected message. -Put the device into safe mode and used the option on lg pc suite to fix upgrade errors. Didn't fix anything lol -Tried factory reset. Nothing happened after I selected the yes on the confirmation. -Tried to use LGUP hoping to install a lollipop kdz but it gives me an error message that I have to select a known model. Restarting the app and the phone didn't work either. -Tried a guide on how to unroot and return to stock with the kitkat .tot file . I really have no idea what else to try. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stuck at the download mode on my LG G3 F400L
Hey everyone. I hope all of you are fine. I was playing with my phone, rooted and installed twrp correctly. After that I thought of installing cloudy G3 2.5. For this, unfortunately I didn't watch any tutorial. I just simply placed the zip file in the device (not in any folder) and rebooted in recovery mode. There, I tapped Install and located the zip file. The process started. Everything was going fine. But when the process finished, it gave an error msg (don't remember exactly what it said). After that whenever I tried to reboot the phone, it kept on saying "kernel crashed", " press up for dload and down to reboot". When I tried to flash it using LG flash tool, the download menu changed to English (previously Korean). And when I tried to flash the stock firmware for LG G3 F400L using LG Flash Tool, it gave an error of wrong device model (saying, cloudy g3 2.5 D855). Then I tried to flash D855 European ROM but the same error persisted. From now on, every time I connect a USB cable to my device or even try to turn it on, it automatically opens that Download Mode (English). Kindly help me... A sincere thanks for reading this. Have a good day.
oh my this is also happening to me now, problem is i just stuck in the small box stating download mode but reboot then never been to the download mode instaed does your phone fix?

[URGENT] Needs help restoring back my LG F400L
I don't know where to start. So I changed the resolution of my LG G3 F400L to 1080p via terminal. then I reboot it. The LG boot logo appear, after waiting for a while the logo won't go anywhere. the boot sound can be heard also when I touch the screen I can hear unlocking sound and touch feedback which means my device is working properly JUST the LG bootlogo covers up everything just like a curtain. Another thing is, I tried to boot it to recovery to restore my firmware but it just won't work. My device has TWRP flashed by AutoRec. I used every button combination and tried like 100 times each that I found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/f400l-recovery-t2960352 but the device won't boot to recovery. It just boots normally and stuck on LG bootlogo as I mentioned above. Running to a dead end. I put my device to download mode (which the only mode that I'm able to do) to flash my device back to stock ROM using LG Flash Tool. After a few processes it stucks at S\W Upgrade part saying "Upgrade stopped due to an error". Just so you know I have the latest driver installed. The stress and frustration really makes me want to bump my head to death. Any help and solution IS GREATLY APPRECIATED! Please Help me.
Lg G4 H815 hard-bricked with different qualcomm soft?
Hello, (complete n00b here) Several days ago I've tried to flash a 6.0 MM (from 5.1) to my LG G4 H815 phone. There was no option to do it automatically so I proceded to do it manually via flashboot. I hard-bricked it to oblivion as in black screen, no response whatsoever. While investigating @ the internet I've managed to understand I could get it fixed via quadcomm drivers (mode 9008). Tried various "fixes" for H815 but was getting safari download errors. For some reason I tried a LS991 fix and it worked. When I started the phone it showed no logo but just a secure booting error 1006. Still, could enter firmware download so I began to flash a lot of KDZ firmwares with no success. LGUP shows my model : H81510H. While in fastboot mode there is a note below (wasn't there the first time) with codes : 633 B46 or something like that. While flashing anything it ALWAYS STOPS at 9% with a tot anti-rollback error. While flashing the code changes briefly where one can read smth like : LGLS991ZVA ver. 6.0 Managed to download some KDZ for that exact model, SAME ERROR. Tried to find / flash LS991ZVA with no success in finding a TOT file. Also, managed to get ADB drivers up and it shows unauthorized in listing (LS991). Fastboot does not detect my device even in fastboot mode @ phone. Please HELP!

On the other hand when I did that with volume UP button there was no error but there was nothing aswell until I release power button in which case I got the secure booting error. All of the above tries were done with no USB connection with anything.

Can't tell atm since I gave it to professionals. I'll wait and see how it'll turn up. Thx for all the effort tho, was nice to tinker with a lil help
@Longbranch did you solve this problem ? I'm in the same state but my phone model is H810, everything else is the same as yours.
Nope, not really. I gave it back to the reseller and my money got returned luckily. The professionals I refer to above did install a specific firmware for the ls991 type. Firmware ZVB I think. The only one appliable apparently. Anyways, as I suspected the ls991 type is for the US and therefore it didn't work in my country in EU. My sim card wouldnt work with it. Besides, without the sim card, the phone decided to freeze and die after several minutes every time I turn it on. Swapped for LG G5 and it's working flawlessly up until this day.
good for you, what i don't understand is that it's a h810 model but now identify as ls991 does that mean you can convert it just by a Qfil flash? I may try another model flash if can't find a suitable Rom for it

That's what I and neutrondev telling everyone : do not use qfil without the knowledge about the result! The only working firehose file available out there is for the ls991 and that means if you use it it will turn your device into a ls991 without any way to get back to your previous device model!! . @steadfasterX since I have done it already is there any way to get it working even as an LS991 ? here is what i did till now the reason for using Qfill is that it went dead after flashing an H810 rom . after that when it's in download mode it doesn't allow me to flash the ls911ZV5 ls911ZV6 ls911ZV6_12 roms that i found ( it says LS991ZVA ) so i went in fastboot and flashed boot/aboot/recovery....img extracted from the ls911ZV6 rom then it accepted the rom in download mode but it is stuck in a hard bootloop ( reboots when it is getting in recovery but still has download mode yet no fastboot as before) any thoughts ?

Click to expand... Click to collapse Yes it's possible. You can boot a h811 H815 or any other rom you like. Even LOS!! Great right? BUT you are bounded to the ls991 modem and so you need to be in a sprint network to use telephony. That means the phone is now useless outside the US . And you wrote you tried ls911 ROMs? I hope you meant ls991 I work on a fully working experience on every network though. Checkout my proof of concept for unlocking the bootloader thread I can go into details on IRC if you like. .. @steadfasterX thank you for keeping up with me ! ( btw what room on IRC ?) for now I have used Qfill again and got fastboot working again and flashed TWRP ( not sure where ! ) so when the phone is off and i plug the usb it boots to twrp ( but it doesn't in recovery ) normal boot will show "secure boot error 1002" then i flashed twrp img to recovery partition using twrp but it didn't work in recovery ( still reboots after showing Recovery Mode loading screen ) also tried to load some roms on the device to try them but I got error "file too large for filesystem " when copying them . atm I don't know the state I'm in and what should be next ? btw here are the recovery log and dmesg

Did you found and read my thread here? https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/bl-unlock-unlock-bootloader-proof-t3648288 There you will find some more info and also the IRC details how you can find me. I'm online from Monday to Friday mainly. It's much easier to talk in chat then here. once all the details are known I will provide a full guide. . Sent from my LG-H815 using XDA Labs
