Hi my up speaker earpiece not working well. If you push ( not strong push almost touch ) with your finger the up section of the phone the speaker not working or make strange noises or plays in low volume . Its is definitely a hardware issue anyone else has the same problem?. No water damage no fall i bought it new it is 3 months old ...
Sounds like a defective device. You could try sending it in for a replacement under warranty.

I know a lot of people have had issues with the quality of the earpiece speaker, but I can't find anything that matches my experience.
A few data ago, during calls, the earpiece started to crackle really badly - especially at higher volumes. its almost as though the speaker has blown. I tried a trick that worked in my old Nokia n95 and blew and then sucked really hard over the earpiece and this actually fixed the problem for about 5 minutes. Has anyone else had this issue? I guess my phone will have to go back.
I take it its just me then...
I would send it back, I had mine for two days and the poor quality coming from the ear piece I sent it back. I am now looking at a different phone and there isn't much out there.
Got exact same problem on mine - dont know whether to send it back, cured it by turning the volume down. Its almost if the phone drives the speaker too loudly for what it can handle...
Have the same problem. I think it's the speaker cloth that is touching the speaker itself.
If the problem persists I will send it back.
Hi everyone,
Have a HTC One X, on holiday at the moment and the weirdest thing happened, the audio (speaker) on my HTC One X has suddenly stopped working, the audiojack still works so head phones work however if I want to play any music with the speaker no sound is played.
I have tried fresh wipe and also installing a new rom, this hasn´t fixed the issue.
Any tips on what I can do? I have tried turning up the volume (just in case lol), phone displays audio is maxed but no sound comes through, perhabs a faulty speaker?
Thanks for your help!
-Super bump!-
P.S. anyone know how to replace speaker or where to get replacement part in the UK?
My speaker died too, I sent it off for a warranty repair (and got them to do the wifi fix while it was there). That was last week, it's now listed as 'repair complete' so I'm just waiting for it back.
Before sending it off I looked at doing it myself, you can just pop the cover off and remove the speaker with a small screwdriver (it's stuck in place with some sticky tape).
Hi there guys, just to let everyone know incase someone reads this thread for future references, I fixed my speaker on the HTC One X, what I did was I opened it and then moved the connecting pins near the speaker, when I popped everything back on the speaker was fully working
Thanks to everyone for the suggestions though, hopefully this thread helps someone else in the future that might need to fix their One X speaker
Mine speaker sometimes does work and sometimes not. Or it works and after a while the music becomes less loud and stops. Most time it start working again after a tap on the speaker...
I could resurrect my dead speaker by tapping/blowing into the grille sometimes.
So I confirmed I had the Wifi connector issue via the squeeze test and repaired the phone myself (I have a bit of experience with this sort of thing, but only as a hobby). The fix went great for the wifi - now reading a perfect signal! (So thanks to everyone in that thread).
Only problem is now my loudspeaker has gone a bit funny - when at about about 50% volume it sounds like the signal being put through is too "loud" for the speaker and is a bit fuzzy (forgive my lack of knowledge of terminology lol).
Currently also running IceCold AOKP ROM and I'm 99.9% sure the issue didn't exist before pulling the phone apart.
Only other thing of note is the issue is only when playing anything through the speaker only (phone calls and music) and does not affect the top speaker or headphones or bluetooth.
Anyone have any idea what I may have broke / disconnected / need to replace as a result of my repair?
I don't know, but my first guess would be that you broke the speaker.

Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy nexus. There has been no physical damage or any exposure to water. Although I had dropped my cell phone a few months back which cracked my screen at the bottom-right corner( did not damage the display). Suddenly today the mic isnt working. When on a call the other end do not hear a word neither does any voice recognition software works. but when i switch on to loudspeaker the other end can hear my voice . similar is the case when i plug in headphones. I tried flashing and also did a factory reset. Nothing happened.
I am really worried as to what is the issue. Do is consider replacing the mic strip? Is there any cause behind this? I am not ble to figure out whether its a hardware or software issue . Please HELP.

Recently my earphone died during a call. I restarted the phone but the earpiece didn't come back to life. Thus I changed the earpiece for a replacement from eBay. However - the problem remains the same. I am not able to hear something from the earpiece. Calling via headset or speaker works just fine.
I currently have VenomDHD 2.3.0, but the above goes for other roms too. I don't know what to do
I still like my DHD and don't want to replace it.
Is there any solution?

Hi there
Did you get the device wet at all? Was it getting excessively hot during the call? Can you link to the replacement earpiece?
Neither wet nor hot. Replacement is eBay article 261265155221
