Your warranty will still be void. Remember you entering your IMEI number?...Yep, logged by Sony
Thank you for your quick response - is there any way i can unlock my bootloader without sony? so I can relock and they dont notice it? (other xperia play)

Theres a user called Alejandrissimo (not sure of the spelling) who for $24 can unlock your Play remotely. Its non-profit for him as well.
Theres a few other ways to do it as well that I cannot remember.
In all fairness however, the large majority of issues with the Play can be sorted with a reset to stock firmware or just a couple of tools on eBay. Its a hardy little beast is the Play so I wouldnt worry about warranty
Ive had issues with my USB not working, phone not charging, drivers not installing, touch input screwing up etc...Solved with a firmware flash or SEUS repair
Sony shoulda called it the Sony Ericsson Xperia Honeybadger
Haha, thanks Honeybadger - nice nickname I found a way to relock, someone uploaded a ftf file. But now I am searching another way for unlocking - witout paying.. but thanks for your kind and fast help!!
If you still want to you can relock your bootloader by following this guide posted by Blagus http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134334 Although you may relock your bootloader your warranty will be void and your DRM keys will still be lost
i want to unlock Sony ericson xperia pro (mk16i) to install custom roms
But i m worried about warranty issue...
Is relocking boot loader of my device Mk16i recovers warranty???...
you can unlock your bootloader by 2 methods
1)doing it thru official sony website
2)test point method...
when done using official sony website, you lose your drm keys(useless) but thru test point method you dont lose those..however, relocking bootloader can only be done on sony unlocked bootloaders to gain your warranty back.....
hit thanks if i helped.

First of all Many many Thanx for reply, Because i was waiting for reply many hours...
Actually i have unlocked xperia pro boot loader without any safety knownlodge but know i relise...
So relocking bootloader will back warranty again??ARE U 100% SURE????
is there any danger from deleting drm files to warranty?
i m going to hit thanx button on ur reply, please reply fast
see drm keys are used only for stupid purposes like trackid and othr utterly useless stuff drm keys never cause problems for warranty because people who use their phones normally can also lose those drm keys...
and yes, relocking a bootloader will give you back your warranty(thanks to sony who does not keep a record of unlocked bootloader phone's imei number)
but remember that relocking can only be done on bootloders that are unlocked using the official method...
Hi, everyone
I have my experience about unlock bootloader, I have unlocked bootloader via official Sony method, when DRM lost, I decided to relock again, flash stock FW via flashtool and repair via PC Companion, after that DRM has been recovered.
So, I've tried to unlock bootloader via testpoint using S1tool, after unlocked, flashed custom kernel and ROM. DRM still lost
Any solution ?

When you unlocked via Sony method, you lost your DRM forever . There's no way to recover it. So, I'm pretty sure you're mistaken about the recover of the DRM keys.

When I claimed warranty, I relocked, repair via PC Companion, DRM worked ( transfer music via media go works ) then when I unlocked via testpoint, DRM LOST !! IT'S IMPOSSIBLE

Never heard of a way to restore the DRM Keys after unlocking via official method. There's some thread that explains this? I've read from many sources (xda, setool) that once you unlock the official way, you lost the DRM keys forever.
Maybe when I repaired via SUS, DRM recovered

That's not possible AFAIK. I've searched again and the only thing I found is: You lost your DRM Keys.
DRM Keys are stored in a trim area and when you unlocked with the official method, they're erased. SEUS or SUS can't restore.
At least that's what I've read about this.
Btw, I sent my previous lt18 to Sony warranty without the Keys and they returned a new one. So, the fact that they didn't complain, doesn't mean much. But let's wait for more experienced members opinion. That's all that I know about this.
Ok thanks, I'll kepp my warranty as well

I've read it now. Let's focus some points:
No.. Working Music info download or Track ID does not prove that DRM is recovered. There are workarounds to make stuff like FBMedia like or TrackID work..

Yes I know what you are saying.. Like I said using your method does make em work(there are other work arounds too).. but the DRM is not recovered. The system is just fooled..

The only post that supports that might be possible is this one (but, in my humble opinion, this is just a bogus information):
Some info from MDPI device forums.
They have been saying, that just relocking bootloader and unlocking via test point method recovers DRM. No need to reflash ROM/kernel or anything else. Neither you need any Walkman apps or stuff.

I strongly believe that like heinrichkaiser said in that thread: This method make the apps work, fooling the system, but don't restore DRM.
They even linked some topics in the setools forum, and no one (even the_laser) could confirm that there's a way to restore. That doesn't mean that it's impossible to make some functionalities work after the loss of the DRM Keys, as you can read here:
ok here's the simple steps after unlocking bootloader.
1. Uninstall the old TrackID (its a system app so u need root)
2. Download the latest TrackID on android market (the silver one/not the old blue)
3. Backup the FBMusicLikes.apk/Music Likes app
4. Uninstall the FBMusicLikes.apk/Music Likes app (its a system app so u need root)
5. Reinstall the FBMusicLikes.apk/Music Likes app
6. connect to net and try it, its now working again.

EDIT: Other post Blagus in the "[Tutorial] Relock bootloader!" thread.
You still can't get DRM back. It's gone from the phone!

+1 Thread about it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1404972
Hey, I'm about to sell my phone, so I need to get it to its factory state. Prefably so that the guy that buys it could send it over for repairs if needed.
And so I did not backup the TA partition. From what I've read that means no relocking the bootloader. Fine.
But how do I go back to the original 4.1.2 sony-branded system?
I'm currently on CM11. Can I just use Sony Companion to perform the update, is it safe? What steps should I undertake?
As far as I know, Sony Update Service won't work with unlocked bootloader (I may be wrong), however, you just need Flashtool and a FTF from the latest stock firmware for Xperia M single SIM (currently at 15.1.C.2.8)
Sorry mate but you can't lock your bootloader without DRM keys(TA PARTITION BACKUP).
You can flash stock ROM using FTF flashtool and but i cant relock your bootloader but you will get stock rom back.
Warranty is void now!!
Sh!t. That's not good.
Thank you guys for answers!
One more thing.
Is it possible to receive OTA updates after I unlocked bootloader and flashed the stock firmware with flashtool?
No once bootloader is unlocked it bricks the device doing ota updates
Sent from my C1905 using xda premium
Sh!tness. So I guess I'm stuck with the phone forever.
Thanks!
Further info for future Xperia phones you may buy: when you unlock your bootloader your DRM keys get wiped, without them, OTA updates, Mobile Bravia Engine (in models that have them -- not the case for Xperia M), Track ID, Download Music Info and SensME (alongside some other proprietary apps/features) will not work, even if you flash stock firmware again.
Before unlocking your bootloader it's always recommended to do a TA backup first, so, if you need, you can relock your bootloader to get your DRM keys back and make proprietary Sony apps/features working again. Since you didn't backup your TA partition before unlocking, you are out of luck now and there is no way of relocking your bootloader.
Also, DO NOT EVER TRY restoring a TA backup from another device (even if it's exactly the same model), TA partition contain some unique info and flashing a TA backup from another device will permanently hard brick your phone...
Well that's a very comprehensive answer! Thanks!
I want to return the device to stock and read on the sony dev website you have to flash a firmware but I do not see the Z5P, is there any other way?
thanks,
AC
Is there a reason why you need to relock the BL? According to Sony, there is no way to restore an unlocked BL.
Q: If I change my mind later on, is there any way to restore my device?
A: No. Once you have unlocked the boot loader, you will not be able to revert the device back to a locked or original state or restore the DRM security keys. You can however use the Flash tool for Xperia™ devices to flash a generic Sony ROM, although it will not receive automatic software upgrades.

You can relock it using flashtool. Just choose Xperia Z5 when the device window appears. I've already tried it, works like a charm.
Not sure if you can relock it without the back up drm keys. Since there isn't a backup program yet I would assume you've already lost the drm keys. I'm afraid you won't be to revert back to the same. Camera quality and x reality will be affected.

Some important things before you attempt the relock:
The DRM keys will not be restored after the relock.
You have to reflash the entire firmware or just flash the stock kernel before relocking the bootloader.
The phone should be on stock kernel, if you try to relock it with custom kernel the phone might brick.
Click BLU in flashtool and follow the instructions.

Turn off the mobile.
Press the BLU button in flashtool.
Press the volume down button of your mobile and connect it to the PC.
A pop up window will open, select Xperia Z5 (Z5P is not listed yet).
Another window will open, if you see Relock, press it, the bootloader will be relocked.
Let the process be over, then restart the mobile.

Relocking Bootloader
I had to unlock my device's bootloader to downgrade it to marshmallow because of the WiFi issue in Nougat, so i did it and didn't backed up the DRM keys(i didn't knew i am supposed to do it. It wasn't mentioned in the tutorial i was following or i missed it). Anyways now i am on marshmallow and i am unable to update it VIA xperia companion. It complains that bootloader is unlocked. Now if i lock the bootloader will xperia companion will work ? What is the affect of the lost DRM keys ? And if anyone knows the WiFi issue is sovled or not ?

Can confirm I did the same thing and forgot the keys (new to Sony devices vs. Google). IF you use the XDA FlashTool, you can re-lock the bootloader and Xperia Companion will recognize for a Factory reset of your device.

Did you restore the DRM keys from Xperia Companion or at least retrieve all the functions that DRM related (Xreality, Bravia engine ... )
