Your warranty will still be void. Remember you entering your IMEI number?...Yep, logged by Sony
Thank you for your quick response - is there any way i can unlock my bootloader without sony? so I can relock and they dont notice it? (other xperia play)

Theres a user called Alejandrissimo (not sure of the spelling) who for $24 can unlock your Play remotely. Its non-profit for him as well.
Theres a few other ways to do it as well that I cannot remember.
In all fairness however, the large majority of issues with the Play can be sorted with a reset to stock firmware or just a couple of tools on eBay. Its a hardy little beast is the Play so I wouldnt worry about warranty
Ive had issues with my USB not working, phone not charging, drivers not installing, touch input screwing up etc...Solved with a firmware flash or SEUS repair
Sony shoulda called it the Sony Ericsson Xperia Honeybadger
Haha, thanks Honeybadger - nice nickname I found a way to relock, someone uploaded a ftf file. But now I am searching another way for unlocking - witout paying.. but thanks for your kind and fast help!!
If you still want to you can relock your bootloader by following this guide posted by Blagus http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134334 Although you may relock your bootloader your warranty will be void and your DRM keys will still be lost

Hello! If i unlock my bootloader on my xperia neo and then lock it again will i lose my warranty?(i want to root my phone and seems that OTA update is not working so i want to try the method wich implies unlocking the bootloader)Thanks in advance!
Yes you will, unlocking bootloader deletes DRM certificates so even if you relock, sony will be able to tell i beleve the payed method of bootloader unlock does not delete the certificates though

Hello.
To root your phone you just have to downgrade to a 2.3.2 rom with wotanclient, root with gingerbreak and do an OTA update (no danger during the update as long as your bootloader is locked)

Is DRM keys the only big issue? If so, I can see that that can be worked around. I asked Sony about this today and they said that a lot of issues they see with their phones are as a result of modding, so if the BL is unlocked, you lose your warranty. I don't want to ruin a 2 year warranty on new phone. Yet, as Doomlord pointed out, Sony offered users to test the ICS which involved BL unlock...I'm confused.
After i unlocked and rooted my arc s, i can't update my phone through sesu. Thus i want to ask that sony arc s bootloader can be relocked now?
I found a thread but it was deleted because of posting in the wrong section.

Just one more question, is there any thing difference between a new phone and a relocked phone? Thank you.
Thank you.
No one ?
Hello, I have been waiting for 1 month
dont know if you can relock bootoloader.
Difrence is that if you unlock bootloader you will never ever be able to have mobile bravia engine, track id and some sort of stuff.
Unlocked bootloader can instal cyanogenMOD (custom ROM, which is powerfull and good)
Locked cant do that, but can recive Sony Updates
Up... same question... we will be able to relock our arc s? Please answer!

Hi Guys
i have the famous front cover brake.
My phone goes to the Service CEnter from Se here in Germany
and they said that i changed the Firmware so the warranty isnt anymore available.
Now i have only unlock the Bootloader and rooted my phone.
Now i have relocked the Bootloader and flashed the stocl 2.3.4 FW on it.
Should i try to resend it to the Service Center ?
or will they still recognize that i unlocked the bootloader ?

They probably won't even notice, btw u meant "front cover break"? The stupid crack near the sensor?
If yes i think its said in that thread that issue it is covered by warranty.
When you unlock the bootloader, you provide to Sony Ericsson the IMEI code of your telephone. I think if you send it again to the Service Center they *might* check in a database if that IMEI has been provided in past to unlock the device... this is why at the moment I prefer not to root (and so not to unlock bl) my Arc s.
yes but they dont want do accept the Warranty
They say that if i unlock the bootloader (and i have done this)
the Warranty is anymore available

+1
And It's said during the unlock procedure that the warranty will be void... at least the official SE procedure...
For hardware issues I don't think we will have that issue. Unlocking Bootloader and Hardware issue is not really related unless we bricking by flash ROM or something.
If u got warranty pls update this post.that will help others.thanks in advance
I read that this warranty is avoid only for SOFTWARE SUPPORT.
Following the law, they should keep in charge all material problem.

It is not possible. As you can see in official instructions, last step:
Code:
Warning! If you perform this step, you will unlock the boot loader and which may void your warranty and/or any warranty from your carrier.
So you void warranty only if you physically unlock your bootloader and perform last step. So requesting unlock code SHOULDN'T void warranty.

Getting an unlock code doesn't mean that you should have unlocked it...it gives you the option. That's it
i want to unlock Sony ericson xperia pro (mk16i) to install custom roms
But i m worried about warranty issue...
Is relocking boot loader of my device Mk16i recovers warranty???...
you can unlock your bootloader by 2 methods
1)doing it thru official sony website
2)test point method...
when done using official sony website, you lose your drm keys(useless) but thru test point method you dont lose those..however, relocking bootloader can only be done on sony unlocked bootloaders to gain your warranty back.....
hit thanks if i helped.

First of all Many many Thanx for reply, Because i was waiting for reply many hours...
Actually i have unlocked xperia pro boot loader without any safety knownlodge but know i relise...
So relocking bootloader will back warranty again??ARE U 100% SURE????
is there any danger from deleting drm files to warranty?
i m going to hit thanx button on ur reply, please reply fast
see drm keys are used only for stupid purposes like trackid and othr utterly useless stuff drm keys never cause problems for warranty because people who use their phones normally can also lose those drm keys...
and yes, relocking a bootloader will give you back your warranty(thanks to sony who does not keep a record of unlocked bootloader phone's imei number)
but remember that relocking can only be done on bootloders that are unlocked using the official method...
