[Q] S Pen of note 10.1 resistance on screen - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Accessories

hi,
i have note 2, and bought a note 10.1 now. I find the s pen in note 10.1 with very high resistance on the screen, despite tip looking pretty good, and on the same screen note 2 pen works much better.
Can anyone give some suggestions for what can be done?
If to consider change of tips, I can't find one for this model specifically-only for note 2, note 4 seen online.
I can see the note 4, and note 10.1 has different sizes as a whole, but Is the note 4, and note 10.1 s pen tips same size?
Any help is much appreciated.

Note 4 and Note 2014 have different sized pens, but the tips are interchangeable.
If you purchased your Note 2014 new, it might have come with a set of replacement tips.

thanks.
I could see that the tips of note 10.1 stylus is rubbery and with little bit resistance not gliding on the screen as smooth as the Note 2's plastic tip stylus would do.
Not sure, if it is because of the stylus already worn out wanting a change or it is made that way.

i installed a tempered glass screen protector and it works great. its pretty smooth and less drag because of it.

I bought my note 2014 second hand so I didn't get the box with any accessories so i'm not sure if it came with replacement nibs or not.
In my note 3 box there were 5 replacement nibs, all 5 nibs are black but 2 have plastic nibs that GLIDE over the screen with very little resistance, and there are 3 rubber nibs which what comes in the s-pen from the factory - lots of friction and they don't glide at all.
I prefer the plastic nibs hands down.

Some tips are textured, I guess some people like the resistance. If you look closely at the tips in the pack that came with it, you will see.

Found many at Aliexpress

I had the same issue, tried a few things and what wound up working was a cleaner/polish I found called Brillianize. I use it about one a week on both my Note 10 and Note 4. You won't regret picking up a bottle from their website.

Screen dimensions for screen protector

Rather than hijacking the other thread I decided to start a new one because the information required is different.
Can somebody with a Note 10.1 give me exact dimensions of the screen. I am looking to purchase a photodon screen protector (http://www.photodon.com/) as they are the best out of all the protectors I have bought. As they dont have one for the note 10.1 I will have to get one custom cut. Can somebody with the Note 10.1 measure the screen for me?
I am also curious if the screen dimensions are the same as the Galaxy Tab2?
I just got my screen protector made by rooCase and I ordered the one for the Galaxy Tab 2. It fits my Note just fine. Its quite tight actually. It only has a cutout for the camera though, not the sensor.
No big deal. I'm planning on ordering from Photodon too. This one was just a tester to see if the size was right. I like the photodon stuff a lot and I get to support a US based company.

Does Galaxy Tab Cases fit?

Do cases for the Tab fit on the Note?
Can't really find any cases I want, so I was thinking I could get the Tab case and use that.

The Note is larger - it won't fit at all unless the original case was VERY loose/flexible.
Nope

No they don't.
They are smaller.
I'm also waiting for the release of the note case.
I'm using a generic sleeve while I wait.
That sucks for me lol I ordered a galaxy tab 2 case but today took the galaxy tab 2 back for refund and got the galaxy note 10.1 now I'm going to get a case delivered that I can't even use lol

I am holding out for the Samsung book cover as well. I really like the quality of the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and hope that the Notes is similar quality. Just wish they would get it out!

Not only does it not fit, do not buy anything from iLuv listed as fitting the Note 10.1....their site doesn't list any product for the Note 10.1, but plenty of sellers out there lying. I just return a folio/keyboard of theirs. barely could get it in and it offered no protection, since it was too wide

I am wondering if GSMArena's measurements might be off? I received a case for a Galaxy Tab 10.1 yesterday, and my Note was actually slightly UNDERsized for it. The shorter axis (from the power button edge to the charger edge) was perfect, but the Note is about 1/8 inch shorter than the case lengthwise. The other issue, though, is that the Note's buttons/ports are not in exactly the same location as the former GTabs. And there was no stylus slot.
But, I really like the case (see the link) because it has a hard-shell back, is comfortable to hold, has a strap to hold it closed or to slip my hand through, let's me rotate my Note to stand horizontally or vertically, and lets me charge it while it is in the case. And I got it for only $10, including shipping, which is a price I don't figure to beat for a comparable case.
So, I used a pair of tin snips, a dremel, and a little bit of double-sided adhesive tape to secure my note to the modified case. Took about 15 minutes, and now I'm a happy camper...

Use the white nips if you have screen protector (it scratches the screen ) but the rubber nips are safe without screen protector

Looking for a light case

Hello everybody.
I own an original Galaxy Tab S, which I use at work (I'm a teacher). And I also own a Tab S2, which I use at home.
The thing is that, while the Tab S is perfectly capable of doing everything I need, it's, with it case, much heavier than the S2, and when I use it while standing for a while I get tired.
I really LOVE the case I bought a year ago for the S2. It was called "Origami Smart Case Cover for Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 T810". It's incredibly light, but I don't know what brand it is, it has the letters FC on it.
I got another origami case for the Tab S from Roocase, but it's much heavier.
The thing is, I just bought a Tab S3 and would like to know if anybody knows of a really light case for it.
Thanks in advance.
Give this a try : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUhkBIBYEIc and https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XWHM7N...=1492283382&sr=1-10&keywords=tab+s3+case&th=1
From what i read the lightest on is their own ~50$ cover , but it offers less protection. If you need some more protection then take a look at that amazon link.
I got this one
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MV1CX4I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'm looking for something similar that can hold my SPEN.

Thanks everyone. When you get your cases it would be really helpful if you could write about your impressions. I'm mainly interested on the weight: I don't care for having a really light and thin tablet and then putting it in a case that doubles it weight and width.
By the way, I realized that I could look for "fc cases" in Google and found the webpage that manufactures (or sells) the case I had for the Tab S2. Forefront Cases. However, they don't have anything for the S3.
I sent them an e-mail and got an error: their inbox is full. I tried calling them this morning and the call went straight to voice mail. I've sent them a twit, but their account has been inactive for five or six months. I'm starting to worry that they may have gone out of business.
If anybody knows a way to contact them and try to find out if they are making another origami case for the Tab S3, I'd be really grateful.

Thanks for the link, I was thinking of getting that before I got the one I listed before your post. My one gripe is how the SPEN clip would rub against the screen of the tablet, even though I have a tempered glass on mine, I'm afraid it will scratch. Guess, an option would to put some type of tape to prevent scratches.

Sadly the pen pouch interferes with the cover when folded into a triangle to prop up the tablet at an angle. The cover does not fold neatly into a triangle.

I know this is an old thread but had to ask: Aren't the dimensions of the S2 and the S3 basically identical? Can't you just use the S2 case on your S3?

Thanks a lot for your answer. I couldn't try it, since I sold the S2 with the case before the S3 arrived. But I think there'd be two main problems: muffled speakers and the fact that the S2 is 10% thinner than the S3.

Of course you're right. I'm guessing the speaker issue will be a real one for almost any case, even though some might be loose / roomy enough to make a snug fit.
Did you ever find your light case? I'm looking for one now. I'm thinking of using this (with a screen protector):
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XWTKMR3
Or this, which I'd buy but for the fact that many people say the smart function doesn't work:
https://www.amazon.com/Lightweight-Semi-transparent-Samsung-9-7-Inch-SM-T820/dp/B00UP37UKK/
Hmmm... But since I have fingerprint login maybe the smart cover issue won't be a problem for me? I don't want to leave the tablet unlocked.
Also: I was trying to find a case with a built in pen loop / holder but options are limited so my plan is to buy one where I can attach a couple of these on the same side to hold it in place (like on my Surface Pro 3):
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N8X33Y9/
I might even carry it in a pouch like this, and get some simple silicon / gel skin for minimal protection (and risk the damage if dropped):

Cheap and light enough. Nobody will mistake it for a high quality cover, but auto wake on works.
I really, really miss the origami cover, 'though. It was much more stable and you could have 3 different angles instead of just two.

Yeah I had added the S2 origami to my cart a couple of days ago but given the possible problems you raised I'm not going to buy it. But I'm glad to have thought this through a little more because I'm now thinking I won't use the smart function much and so that shouldn't be a dealbreaker.
I have had this case for my Tab since day 1 and love it. You can put the S-pen in the elastic loop if you really want to, but doesn't provide a whole lot of protection for it. The case does have the smart features for the screen wake built in and I have used these cases on my other tablets with no issues. Nice and lightweight and you have multiple angles you can set it at or just lay it flat.

Thanks. That looks like a good option (7.4 oz weight is okay).
I got a keyboard case bundled, but don't plan to use the keyboard that much. So I wanted a secondary, lightest possible option to use just for reading / markup. I went with this plus a glass screen protector (it's 3 oz):

Extremely light, and I think it'll do for my purposes.

I ordered the one in the first link the i-blason case. I'll get it tomorrow and I'll post some photos and give my thoughts since there are no reviews on this case at all. Ordered a TPG screen protector to go with it.
Beware the case magnets (smart covers) for the Tab S3, the magnet can ruin the S3 digitizer and sleep function. I had one S3 replaced due to this issue. I have never seen this problem on other devices.

Note 10 plus case

Hello all, was looking for a case that holds 4 cards.i don't really like having the cover and want something more on the backside. I previously had a note 8 and used a blackweb case with card holder and liked that a lot. Anyone have anything like this or aware of one along this? Thank you a bunch for the help!

As for Note cases... on my Note 8 I had a rear wrap from slickwraps and a Rhinoshield Crash Guard Bumper and no screen protector.
I dropped that thing some many times i couldn't count. Plenty outside and on concrete. NEVER had an issue.
I ordered the same for the Note 10+. This scheme adds no extra thickness to the phone. The crash guard has edges front and rear that never let the glass touch a surface. The wrap provides cosmetic protection against scratches and provides some texture for a better grip.
The Rhinoshield is also mil spec rated to protect against an 11 foot fall.
Received the wraps, still waiting for the bumper.

Ghostek makes great cases, although I use their Covert case as my daily driver on my Note phones for the last 3 years. The one linked above should do you well OP.

Hope it works out for you too! Me personally am not a fan of cases that hold credit cards. But they are definitely useful for those that do use em'.
I totally forget which ghostek case I use to have as since the note 8 Iv been using UAG cases.
Let us know how your case works out for you!
