{Q}Tethering on FB06 lollipop (WiFi Tether Router App) - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I've posted in the forums anyways.I recently fully updated to FB06 via odin im rooted and have remained stock (rom/kern) tunning twrp for recovery.
But since updating I have encountered a problem, the app I used to tether WiFi Tether Router has stopped "working" not the app itself but I got a message from t-mobile stating X amount of mobile hostpot data has been used, This never use to be a issue before updating ....
*> So is there a trick to tethering with lollipop FB06 ? Help with this would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Noone on lollipop FB06 has encountered issues with tethering ?

You need to create a new APN and change the apn protocol to IPv4

That's how my apn is currently/always setup...? If I connect to my ps3 with a ipv6 while using the app I use to tether I mentioned above, it periodically boots me off, The recommended settings are ipv4.
I think tmobile has caught onto how we unlimited tether and implemented something into FB06 to bypass how dev's work around it. There's a few other threads in Q&A and in a few lollipop rom threads where this has Been mentioned but no one has really mentioned a solution...
No worries though I fully downgraded to nk3, flashed a custy rom and am tethering unlimited as I normally would. Thanks for replying though.

Is wifi hotspot ability related the kernel?

I recently flashed a rom called BlackJelly (4.1.1) and now can't get any of my wifi hotspot apps to run. I've tried Barnacle and a few variants of WiFi Tether. They both come up with errors.
In my research, someone stated that this option is dependent on the kernel. I'm currently running T999UVLH2
Yes, it is.
Thanks, thats what i've been reading. I've also been reading that it's a good way to brick a device. Any suggestions on a Kernel to use for my Tmo T999 (US-version)?
I've been doing some flashing, but only with roms that already contained a kernel....

[Q] How to enable wifi tethering for stock UCUEMJB 4.3?

I have been searching around for answers to my question for a few hours and have come up with nothing.
I originally flashed an older rom onto my phone in order to unlock it, then it did the OTA update to 4.3, following which I used CF auto root to successfully root it. Now this is what I have:
AT&T Galaxy S3
Android version 4.3
Baseband version I747UCUEMJB
Build Number JSS15J.I747UCUEMJB
SE Android Status Enforcing SEPF_SMSUNG-SGH-I747_4.3_0024
When I try to enable wifi tethering, either natively or through Portable Wifi Hotspot or other apps then I get the message that "Mobile data is not available or invalid SIM", neither of which is true. I have been able to get FoxFi/PDANet to work for bluetooth tethering, but not WiFi which I need for some of the devices I have with me.
I have seen that perhaps there are some modem/bootloader files that can be flashed over, but those seem to be specific to the leaked version of 4.3 , and I dont know if they would work for the UCUEMJB.
Is there any way I can do a simple mod to enable the wifi teathering? Would prefer to avoid flashing another rom bc Im traveling through Latin America and access to decent internet is a big issue (hence the need to tether).
Thanks!

MMS issues with root

Hey all,
I wanted to confirm with anyone that has a rooted Verizon Pixel if it isn't just me who is having issues sending picture and group texts...I can receive them but not send which is strange to me....?
Anyway, I did multiple things to confirm that it is root that is causing this issue I have. I didn't believe it was rooting that caused it. But I am 99.9% certain. I went back to stock to confirm twice. Meaning I sideloaded the original Marlin P firmware with out root and with root. Everytime I re-rooted my mms issues reappear. So I am not sure what is going on.
I didn't want to go into chainfires root thread to let him know that it most likely is the cause.
I just want to confirm with anyone else on a Verizon Pixel with an unlocked bootloader that has root access.
I am not sure if a logcat would catch anything like that? Can someone let me know if that would please?
Thank you.
I also have a rooted Verizon pixel that I am using with at&t, and I cannot receive MMS messages at all. They never download, and always end up showing, "failed to download." I had the same problem on a rooted MetroPCS lg k7 used on at&t.
I'm rooted on Verizon, no MMS issues. On the APN type I added MMS

I have tried to add mms in apn settings. No go. I have tried everything I can think of to fix it.
When rooted it does not work. Unrooted works just fine.

Lost tether capability on htc m9 after installing new rom

I "Finally" successfully rooted my HTC m9 after a couple of years and one failed attempt that bricked it about a year ago. The original device was bought as a carrier unlocked developer edition. This was my first mistake because I did not realize that Wi-Fi calling was unavailable in this version, and that was an important feature to me!
I rooted using Magisk (s-on) and installed the latest VenomRom (as of a few weeks ago). Unfortunately the Wi-Fi calling still does not work and I have not figured that out yet (any ideas?)
Today I tried to use the oem Wi-Fi hotspot switch and when I go to the settings - more - mobile network sharing, and pull the slide switch to enable mobile hotspot, the switch moved to the right but the "off" never turned to on, and it all remained grayed out! After finding this issue I tried modifying the default.XML (to remove carrier tether lock) file as described in another thread I found but that did not change / fix the problem.
Does anybody have any ideas to help me overcome any of these issues???
Thanks!

G96OU Flash Firmware

Just received this phone from ATT to retire my old S5 which I have been using FoxFi for hotspot since forever. Do I understand correct that you can just flash the factory samsung firmware to enable the hotspot feature? And this will still be undetectable as hotspot usage? If so and someone could please direct me to the proper instructions for doing this that would be much appreciated!
