chainfire 3d is only for gingerbread device, if you apply this on except gingerbread device this mod may be will make brick your device.
if pc companion can't detect your device, try to flash with flashtool and download stock ftf file and do full wipe data with that flashtool.
Hey nicklas...thnx for replying...bt m a noob...can u plzzz guide me in detail..I have a pc but I hadnt installed twrp or cwm on my sony xperia m.....thnks in advance broo.....help

I was wondering how to back up my stock .42 firmware before I upgrade to .62 OTA. (With a locked bootloader)
I want to do this because .62 isn't rootable so with a backup I would be able to go back to .42 easily if needed and also it's nice to have a backup should anything go wrong.
Thanks
U need:
1. Root ur phone using doomlord zergrush if u havent
2. Download se xtreme tweaker on ur pc, run it and install CWM using the software
3. Now u have CWM, u can bckup ur .42. To do that, reboot ur phone n when the sony logo appear, press down volume key repeatedly until u enter CWM
4. Look for backup or something like that, i dont really remember.
Notes:
1.make sure u have all the drivers installed in ur pc, if not u might meet some problems installing CWM. To make sure u have the driver, u can find it in driver folder in flashtool folder. If u dont have flashtool, just search for gordon gate, that ought to do it
2. Make sure u hve 700mb+ free space in sdcard for backup

Thanks a lot, I'll try this tomorrow.
What do you mean by all the drivers? I've already rooted with zergrush and that was successful and I've got PC companion and SEUS installed. Do any other drivers need to be installed?

CWM auto installer
Hello,
u might wanna try this...saves time and reliable...
There is a Application in the Play Store(Android Market) named Xperia CWM Auto-Installer..by pvyParts
Link :https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pvy.CWMinstaler
Once rooted, u can download that directly...Install CWM on your rooted device..
This App is designed for the 2011 Xperia porfolio. it will install CWM into the system partition so you can use recovery even with a locked boot loader!
Then re boot into recovery and go to BACKUPS AND RESTORE and do a NANDROID BACK UP...
Simple Isn't it?
Is this the same as the se xtreme tweaker method above?

Hey guys!
I just installed new ROM to my Xperia Arc. I installed Xperia Ice Pureness from that site: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788701
When I reboot my device it stuck just on SONY logo. If I try to connect my phone to the computer, it doesn't recognize my phone .I can't get to the ClockWork mode and nothing at all. I really need help because I use my phone for working and develpoing but now is bricked .
I know there are many discussions about that on forum but I didn't find anything useful here because my computer doesn't recognize my phone like in other cases.

Reflash a stock ics Rom and try again remember to wipe data, system and cache and dalvik cache before you flash custom Rom
Sent from Xperia Arc S
Flash a stock .ftf in flashtool. Re-root and refresh rom

Have you tried installing a custom kernel? You should try ArcKnight kernel. It works good with stock based roms.
Just reflash ftf via flashtool and the soft brick will be gone.

hi everyone,
i have a sony xperia arc s lt18i with locked bootloader.
i rooted it through eRoot Software and installed CWM through X-Parts from Market.
Afterwards i copied 2 different Custom Roms on SD-Card and tried to install any of both after i did a full wipe/cache/davlik.
Both Custom Roms couldn't be installed through CWM - there was an error 7 after "installing package..." (which mean i might have used the wrong Custom Roms).
Now my phone is stuck at SONY logo. I could not find a way to enter recovery mode through hardware buttons.
Sony PC Companion is not able to detect the phone connected via USB to PC.
What can i do next? Any help is appreciated!
