My wife and I both got g4s and they charge horribly slow. Even when using the quick charge charger. Any thoughts?

it charges fast as long as you leave it with screen off and no apps running in background.
Charging actually is negative when using the phone plugged in. Maybe will work better with 2.0 fastcharge but I doubt it. Don't have one to test and confirm this.

If your charge is going negative while using the phone and it is plugged in then you need a better charger with at least 2 amps if it isnt a qc 2.0 charger.
This is what I get on my AT&T H810. I use an AT&T branded quick charger and stock LG cable that came with this phone.
Mine takes just over 1.5hrs with the stock charger at home. But at work it says it'll take 3 hours from 10 or 15%
Does my office just have a crappy circuit running to the cubicles?

Never use the mobile app, it's absolutely ****, you might be able to use the tapatalk app but the best solution would be mobile browser using Google, and I would use ghostery browser in app store since all of advertising almost cripples the use of the Web page. Ghostery blocks a lot of the stupid pop-ups and flash

Shame you don't have a USB power monitor to see what kind of voltage/ampage the charger is giving out at home and work.
Could be difference in cell service or signal at work vs home. Do you have wifi at work?

Not saying I have an answer, but this doesn't make any sense at all. Outlets have a certain amount of voltage and current based on country/region standards. There's really no such thing as a crappy circuit in regards to power outlets. It's the charger you're using or apps that are running.
It's possible that a company could limit amp draw from individual outlets but this is extremely abnormal practice and likely costs significantly more to implement than it would ever save.
EDIT: To be completely fair, if it was a "failing" outlet, other things you would plug in would also be wonky and not work at all. Like, say a computer, since you mentioned office.

The cubicles (18 total}) have a main plug which is plugged into the wall outlet if that matters. And I'm in a data center as well, so the limiting thing could be possible.
All I know is What I experience at home with my G4 or G3 charger is twice as fast as in my cube.

For what it's worth, the problem is more pronounced the lower my battery is. Charging above 70 is no problem, while below 30 it becomes practically unusable. I am running SETCPU with defaults.

is this an htc charger or a 3rd party charger?
The reason i ask is because a co worker of mine bought a cheap 3rd party charger from the flee market and when he tried to charge his phone the light would come on but the screen would do what your describing. I didnt believe him so i plugged my phone into it and my screen wouldnt work at all. Let him borrow my charger that was an htc charger and it didnt do it at all.
That'd do it. Coworker destroyed my HTC charger and bought me a Verizon branded chinese-made piece of crap, and now that you mention it this doesnt happen when charging via my car.

Unless I've missed it from my research but I haven't seen any mention of this Wireless Qi charger from Panasonic. Seems pretty good as it also goes and detects the device, so no need to move the phone or the tablet around to ensure it is charging. One fairly common complaint I notice is that they have to move the device around to ensure the charger finds the phone\tablet.
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this as I may be picking it up for my Sexy Nexie 4 and 7. Or at the very least, here's another option for everyone to look into for their devices.
Here's a video review of some drunk guy on YouTube.

I have one I bought for my Nexus 4 as soon as my N4 arrived in January. Works fine with the Nexus 7 - although never seems to switch off from charging. When I leave it charging over night the charge light almost always on in the morning but the Nexus 7 only feels barely warm. So probably it is just trickle charging.

From your experience approximately how long does it take to charge the Nexus 7? My other concern about wireless charging is how it affects the battery life overall. I'm assuming you guys only place it on the charger from empty to full all the time?

x2, I am afraid it would shorten the battery life.
Pretty much I am either holding my nexus or it is laying on the charger. From its lowest point, maybe 20%, it will charge to full in 4-5 hours. Then the light on the charging pad starts flashing.

I should add, the nexus is noticeably warm when I take it off the charging pass. This is not a trickle charge.

To clarify my earlier post:
Charging for N7 takes a long time - I guesstimate charging time is 5 or 6 hours. I normally charge it overnight. My N4 charges and switches off at around 95%. N7 charges to full charge.
The Panasonic charging coil seeks out the best position for charging the device. The N7 coil is physically in the centre of the back, so position placement really doesn't matter much.

I have one, works perfectly well with the Nexus 7. The charging coil in the station is motorized, so it'll sound like a quiet inkjet printer when it positions the coil, but it's not loud at all and doesn't bother me. Works especially well if it's on your nightstand... especially when it's time to go to bed and you're too tired to bother with a cable or another Qi charger in the dark. As long as you don't place the tablet like halfway off the station, it should work.
As far as cutting off charge, some people have said that it charges to 100% then won't initiate charging again until the device drops to 90%. Haven't really had a chance to test it, but every time I've picked up my tablet after a night of charging, my Nexus is at 100%.
totally not trying to thread-crap.... just figured I should mention that AT&T is selling the Nokia DT900 at half price.. $25 for wireless charging is great way to give it a try. It's working perfectly with my N7 and N4... I just ordered a 2nd.

Have had this since my nex 4 this came out a year or two ago, I saw it there when I was in japan.
worked fine on my nex4 and nexus 7 2nd gen.
I tried it with the yijieneng receiver on my s4 but didnt work with case on, didn't try it without.
been using the samsung pad because it tops off the battery, where as the panasonic stops once it hits 100%.
I ordered one friday, and it arrived today (tuesday) from eBay second hand for about $25
Using a generic QI receiver from ebay, when i first turned it on and put my phone on, 'oh hello phone here have some power'
then my curiosity attacked me and said 'THERES A BUTTON THERE PRESS THAT BUTTON WHATS IT DO!? so i pressed it then got to spend some time trying to figure out what i had done. DONT PRESS THE BUTTON, i think it has different modes, for finding the phone, after i pressed it the pad wasn't happy with my phones location and just kept moving left and right not charging.. but its working now xD
Im trying to find a copy of the manual online but not having any luck...
Haven't tested the speed yet, but its rated at 1amp so i presume it to be the same as most QI chargers on the market
Edit: speed is great.

Odd. I, too, had purchased a Nokia DT900, and it did not work with the Nexus 7 for me - AT ALL! I have since read that it didn't work for many Nexus owners.
I had to return it.
I then bought this Panasonic model, and it's been flawless (even through my MOKO case).

Sorry to hear it. The DT900 was a total bust with my N4, but still working great with my N7.
Sigh, as others have said, it still feels like this is such a beta level feature (ie. that there has to be so much luck getting the right combination of products to make it work)
Still waiting for mine that was ordered from eBay. Once I saw the tracking feature with the LEDs it was an instant buy, lol.
I've just received it in the post. Just trying to figure out the instructions.

I assume this means charging the battery bank?
What does the silver button actually do?

I doesn't take long to charge the battery pack if you have a good power supply to plug it into. I am using a 12w usb charging adapter and it seems to work fine. Phone charges quickly wirelessly haven't tried wired much except to see that it does work. Also both work at the same time! I am liking it but have only had it a couple of days so far.
Almost forgot the manual is horribly written, truly the worst manual I have ever personally seen. It looks like it was written by a 10 year old kid whose second language is English. It probably even worse than a google translation! LOL In fact I would almost bet thats what they did to write the Engrish part.

I wouldn't know about NFC. How do I check that?
I'm on my second Lugulake after the first one stopped charging after 3 days. The wifi worked but the battery would not hold a charge. They sent me a replacement unit.
I got mine through Amazon.
The unit works great as it has a good surface area, and using the usb cable, I'm able to plug it into my cigarette lighter in my car to charge wirelessly. I like the fact I can unplug and essentially still have a charging I can take anywhere without a plug.
The only gripe I really have is for a 70 dollar item, it feels flimsy. It's made of all plastic and it feels more like a 30 dollar item.
I'll be able to test it out further during the Thanksgiving holidays to make sure this isn't another faulty unit.

It's all good. Relax. My second charger finally charged up. Don't have to send anything back. Not too many ordered these as the price scared them away. My thinking anyway
I'm on stock Rom & have the LG wireless charging Dock & using the plug/cable that came with the phone & I have to say it's the most annoying wireless charging experience I've ever had.
The G3 constantly lights up the screen while charging, either to tell me it's a slow charge & i need to use the LG cable & plug or it's telling every 2 to 3 % it's charged up.
It gets to 92% and it's lighting up & making all kinds of sounds every god damn % it charges.
What's going on with the G3?
Anyone else getting this problem & how to fix?
I got the same setup but don't have any problems with it at all.
That's strange than. I wonder why my set up is causing so much trouble?
Same setup here and I got those annoying pop ups too, I've simply disabled those notifications in TweaksBox and the device charges perfectly all the same. You may find the option to disable without being rooted but I have no idea how.
Edit: where did you purchase your dock from?
The problem is likely to be your placement on the charger, the G3 seems very very picky about where it sits on QI chargers.
If you have it placed in a spot that is on the boarder between a good placement and a bad it will keep switching between slow charging and regular charging and will make various bleeps (and the screen turning on) every time it switches.
If you get the placement correct the screen will only come on and it will only make a noise when you first start charging and when the battery reaches 100%.
If you keep it on the charger for a long time, like all day it will start to discharge once it reaches 100% then will beep etc when it starts to charge back to 100% again.

This is my first LG so not 100% confident about rooting it yet. But unsure about returning it to stock should I need to.
Fair enough, (my first LG too, lol, they make a great washing machine but I was a mobile sceptic) however it is a very simple process, take your time and do some reading there's really a myriad of possibilities being rooted thanks to awesome ppl here. Anyway just wanted to let you know there is a way stop those notifications and for me charging is almost as fast as USB, also positioning didnt seem to matter with the notification pop ups so thats a bit weird but of no concern.

Yes you choose when it stops. Like if you wanted to charge only to 80% you just hold the back button down for 3 seconds to turn off the battery case.
As for if it stops charging when it gets to 100% I'm not sure. Some cases shut off by itself some don't. I assume this case will stop automatically
I've had several Zerolemon battery cases and have loved them. From the LG G3, G4, Note 4, and iPhone 6 and 7 plus

I just now noticed this note on the Amazon page:
Note:This battery case passthrough quick charge only.
Still awesome, though.
I'm guessing it will behave similar to the S8 ZeroLemon case (Not that these are deal-breakers or anything, just wondering):
No wireless charging.
It will interfere with NFC.
It is not waterproof.
No fast charging (except for passthrough).
Extra question: Will it interfere with a Tempered Glass screen protector?
