Hello,
I've had the Nokia CK-1W Bluetooth hands free kit in my car for a while. I started out with a Nokia 6310i so it seemed the perfect choice when I got it.
Last year I joined the HTC revolution. I got a Wizard and this worked fine with the kit. I'm not a heavy user as I don't drive as part of my work, but didn't encounter any issues the times I did use it.
I lost my Wizard on a train and got the Hermes as a replacement (thanks household contents insurance). Connected it up to the kit in the car and once again I didn't have any trouble. I have only had it a few weeks so the device wasn't really setup, I didn't have voice tags or anything, but I was receiving calls OK and could make calls from the device.
So I took the plunge on Sunday and updated my O2 Hermes to the WM6 Rom from O2. I was really quite pleased with it, seems to be more responsive and generally a pretty good upgrade.
I didn't expect to have any issues with the car kit. Silly me. Connected up fine. When I pressed the button to invoke the voice tags, I didn't hear anything out of the speakers. This was a bit strange as before you would hear either the "Peep peep" noise to tell you to speak or the "You don't have any voice tags set, idiot" noise that you get otherwise. I didn't think much of it. Yesterday it got it's baptism of fire. My friend called me, I hit the button to answer and heard.....silence. The kit was connected, the call was answered and I could hear bugger all. Most amusingly my friend could hear me perfectly and started having a conversation with me until I pointed out that I couldn't hear anything.
So has anyone got any ideas? I am guessing that something has changed in the BT stack between WM5 and WM6 but any ideas what? I know a lot of people have written a lot of threads regarding BT car kit issues but I hadn't seen one quite like this.
Any help would be really appreciated!
Cheers
Ian
School boy error
It seems that it wasn't anything to do with the phone at all.
Coincidence struck and it just happened that the day after I flashed my phone, a wire came loose connecting the hands free kit to the stereo!
I worked this out when I tried my old Nokia on it just to make sure it was a problem with the phone. When I couldn't hear anything on that I knew there was a problem elsewhere!
After I took out the stereo and replugged everything back together it all worked fine again.
Sorry about that!
I have a Pinoneer AVH-P6800DVD with the CD-BTB200 Bluetooth. This is my problem. Im not able to connect any of my Pocket PC phone to the head unit for hands free talking. I have a T-Mobile MDA, Dash and a Cingular 8525. I have a Samsung D807 and a Motorola Razr that connect fine and work like a charm. I called up Pioneer and they told me that phones that run Pocket PC will not work with the Unit. If any one knows how to go around this i would be greatful. Thanks....
I am having the same problem and was told the same thing by pioneer,,
there has to be a way to do it,, any help would be great,,,THANKS
Can you confirm if it works with Mobile 6.0 for Smartphone. I have the T-mobile dash and was just about to purchase this adapter for my AVH-p6800dvd as well. Thanks!
Ok I found away to get it to work. You have to download some software to you Pocket PC phone. You can get it here http://www.jetwaremobile.com/. With this software I got my Dash to connect to my Pioneer. Only thing is after 30 days you have to buy it... I hope it helps some of you guys out...
very cool THANKS, this works now, with my pioneer cd-btb200 handsfree kit
Anyone else stream music over Bluetooth having "skipping"? Every few minutes there is a second where the music skips. This is connected in my car, an Infiniti jx35. Did not have this issue with my note 4.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
Mine streams fine to my Sony HTIB and head unit in my 2009 335i. I remember reading a while ago there's a chance if you can't upgrade the radios software it can have problems. Even though my old note 2 streamed just fine in my BMW it would lag hard in my grandmother's 2010 Durango and be unusable but phone was fine.
Yeah, I'm thinking it's the car. I bought a Bluetooth adapter for the aux port, and it works a lot better.

Same here no proble. With s5, note 3, but skips and pauses when connected to car
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
I have also had the same thing with my moto buds Bluetooth headphones
Yes- getting the skipping every few seconds in my Infiniti g37x. I believe this is a known android issue that isn't yet completely resolved. It's random for me, but even a reboot doesn't always fix it.
Perhaps a known issue for Infinity? I stream in my Kia Soul with no issues.

I did a factory reset and it works fine now. I'm thinking it's really an Infiniti thing for my car which is a 2012. I'm going to call them to see if there's a firmware upgrade for my car for bluetooth.
Also skips in Mercedes e350. I think it's the car blutooth
I called Infiniti to see if there was a firmware upgrade for Bluetooth, they said no. Said all my computer updates were up to speed.
Also, the stutter is back - even after a factory reset. Ugh

I just got mine today. I'll hook it up to my QX tomorrow and see if it works
listened to an audible book in my '12 Infiniti QX and didn't notice a broblem
Update to this skipping issue with my 2012 g37x Infiniti.
1. Took car to infiniti dealer. No bluetooth updates available. We even went through all firmware updates to see if anything might be useful. Nothing.
2. Got a second Samsung Note 5 - sadly was able to replicate the issue. Still stutters every few seconds exactly as the first Note 5. Tested in about a dozen audio apps.
3. Heard back from Infiniti - they're able to replicate the issue, but don't know if it's an Infiniti issue or a Samsung Note 5 issue. The engineers are looking into it.
My guess is that bluetooth tech has evolved since 2012 and the car's firmware just needs a tweak.
If you have any ideas, let me know. Thanks!
I don't think it's limited to infinity. I've been experiencing issues since the most recent OTA on all of my bluetooth devices, including my pioneer head unit in my jaguar, my bluetooth Rev jams headphones, and my Plantronics bluetooth earpiece.
In addition, I use a Gear Live smart watch and it's constantly disconnecting and reconnecting. These issues all started right after the update. There is a thread on android central about this as well so we are not alone. Samsung broke something and hopefully it gets fixed soon.

I am currently using an Note 4 and experience the same problem. Both with my car and my Jaybirds wireless earbuds. My guess, it's an Android problem as I've exhausted all methods of troubleshooting this.
Try this, keep your screen on and see if that resolves your skipping problem. It's a dumb solution but until Samsung/Android can resolve the problem, there are not a whole lot of options.
0 bluetooth issues with mine. 2015 car.
I'm having major issues all of a sudden. I've had the phone since launch day. And out of no where about 2 weeks ago I've had issues with the Bluetooth with all my devices from my 14 silverado stock radio and also with the new Alpine 957bt I put in here. Same issues as well as my LG tones and bose Bluetooth Speaker. Once I cover the phone with my hand or if it's in my pocket it cuts out constantly. I feel like it happened right after the recent ota update. I'll be reformatting the phone here soon once everything is backed up. So I know it's the phone for sure.
Update: Alright I did the restore in the phone it didn't work unfortunately I'm gonna try contacting Samsung and see what they can do.

Been having same issue and with WiFi it keeps connecting and disconnecting major issues with Bluetooth same as WiFi but also keeps skipping on music and when on phone the other end can not hear me tried 4 different devices
I had the same issue and had to send my note 5 to Samsung for repairs. They replaced the motherboard. I havent had the issue return.
Been using my Note 5 with a LG headset from new and no issues and a couple of weeks ago got a Gear S2 watch.
All good but all of a sudden getting skipping on the headset and Bluetooth dropping out on the watch.
Irritating must say.

I've had 50 phones and could pair every one on my 2010 Silverado. Can't pair the Pixel XL. It seems to pair at first but on the phone it goes from connected to disconnected before the call connects, any ideas? I've never seen this before. BTW I have Regular Pixel and it has the exact same behavior. Nexus 6P was my last phone and that never had issues.
Edit; So the pixel XL is on 7.1 and my 6P that works in on 7.0

You can you need to do it manually from the car. I had a similar issue with my Hyundai Genesis 2011. You need to go to your cars GPS monitor and look for setup or phone add device. Might be where it tells you cars Bluetooth pairing password. Then refresh your pixels Bluetooth and boom paired.

I'm having the exact same issue with my 2013 Silverado. I have it paired but it doesn't stay connected. Hope there's a fix, this will be a deal breaker for me.

Paired fine with my 2012 F150.
no issue with my VW GTI
Opened the Bluetooth settings on the XL, selected the VW, entered the stupid 0000 code. Paired.
No issue, no different than anything previously.
I had to toggle bluetooth on and off a few times before I could get it to pair with my 2013 F150. It would say "Could not communicate with SYNC" on the phone. But now that it's paired, It works fine.
Paired perfectly with my 16 Ford Focus ST
I noticed Bluetooth is a little funky with my xl... Not sure if it's software or hardware but Bluetooth is definitely slower on the xl then a 6p. Takes a few tries to connect or see other devices and connecting will sometimes randomly fail. Once connected everything works perfectly.
No problem with 2014 Porsche.
Silverado - new topic
OP, we might want to make a new thread titled Silverado. Seems awfully strange it's just you and I so far having a problem and we both have Silverados. I think a new thread labeled connecting pixel to Silverado might grab some attention and maybe we can get some Silverado and pixel owners replying.
I did make an attempt to contact Google support for this issue. Pretty lame steps they had me do, remove all BT devices , reboot, readd just Silverado (still failed) reboot phone in safe mode and try to connect ( failed) next they are asking me to do a factory reset on the phone or contact gm for help. I've never had any issues with BT in my truck till this phone. As a matter of fact I can connect find using my old devices.
I'll wait a few hours to see if you started a new thread if not I'm going to start one specific to Silverado and pixel BT.

Can confirm Bluetooth connectivity issues with Pixel on Buick Regal '12 (GM vehicle). I'll try it on Mazda CX5 '16 tomorrow but there is definitely something wrong with Pixel BT at the moment. I can pair it without issues but connection permanently drops within 2-3 seconds every time.
Before Pixel, I had iP6, N5X, N5, Galaxy Nexus all paired on this same car and running perfectly stable. Digging around forums, seems like N6P and Pixel have a lot of BT issues.
Paired just fine with my 2011 Hyundai sonata
My guess is the problem isn't with the Pixel, it's likely with the GM Bluetooth setup given that it seems to work with everything else.

Ok, so I have a smart watch and wear it all the time. But, it seems I can't have the phone connected to my watch and my car at the same time. I came from a S7 Edge and there was never a problem and the phone would reliably connected to both, and it didn't matter if the connection involved my watch and speaker or car, it connected and everything was great. Now that I have the Pixel 2 XL, I cannot to both at the same time and the connection is not reliable to even one device. It will disconnect regularly from anything connected.
Well, I figured this odd considering the Bluetooth version in the Pixel 2 is more advanced than the S7, but apparently I'm wrong. I contacted Google regarding the issue and was told it can only connect to one device at a time. I'm not sure how it makes sense to not allow a Android Wear watch to be connected at the same time you're connected to another device, because that would make having smart watch pretty much useless since a whole lot of people would like to be able to get notifications on their watch while listening to music via connected Bluetooth speaker!?
Ok, so after receiving that answer I then addressed the fact that my phone won't reliably hold a single connection to my watch regardless of any other devices I'd ike to connect too. Here comes the typical trouble Shooting...(reboot, delete paired devices, wipe phone and start fresh), nothing changed. Customer service finally said I need a new device, and this is after spending nearly an hour talking to them. So I'm thinking "perfect!" The customer service representative told me how sorry they are and they want to make the process as easy as possible by shipping a brand new device to me, and when I get the new one, I can activate it and then send the defective device back to Google using a prepaid shipping label. She said I'll get an email with a link to finish the process and will be good to go soon, and even promised the new device would not have these issues.
Well...I got the email and clicked the link, but this brings me to an order that would says if be charged for the phone. I'm a little confused so I message the agent I spoke to and she said they will only put a hold on my funds for the $950, which would be removed once they receive the is device. Ok, I get that they are making sure they don't get caught up giving away a device if this cost, but it's a defective device,. And.... I'm not a rich person and that money is needed for the family and bills. I financed the phone for a 0% APR, which is basically free money, just in advance and don't have an extra $1,000 laying around or else I would have just purchased the phone up front.
Long post, but I want everyone get a full picture and then get opinions. Am I wrong to think I shouldn't have to let a company that provided me with a faulty device put a hold on so much of my money, (especially when it's only been about 2 weeks since I received the device) just to get a new, properly working device? I've would love some feedback and sorry for the long post.
I just think it's completely ridiculous and really ruined all the excitement I had about the phone and completely turned me off about the whole of the "Made By Google" idea... And I've literally bought a new Android phone every year since the very 1st Android phone, the G1. Maybe I'm going off the deep end with this and overreacting, but any time I've had an issue with an item that has a cost like this one does, they've done everything to make it right without causing me to adjust my budget, to simply get a replacement.
Anyway, please give me your thoughts on this!?

I rather have the advance replacement option instead of where I have to send the phone first. I'm in that situation right now and I'm not sure where my phone is. It didn't get scanned and it's been almost a week.
I have LG watch sport and my watch stays connected to my phone while connected to my car BUT there are caveats. If I press the BT button in my car it will connect to my phone but only gain media control. If I go into settings and manually connect my car it will have both media and phone functionality. It's an annoyance but I've gotten used to it.

Wow! So your phone can connect to "multiple" devices at the same time. That's interesting. I attached a screenshot of the conversation with Google where I was told that wasn't even possible. I really don't get why they are straight up lying to me. I suppose it's so they aren't admitting blame, but I sure would have felt a whole lot better if they just came clean about it.

Well, mine can't even do that. I find it crazy that my S7 could connect to both devices, on an older version of Bluetooth, so efficiently and this new Bluetooth 5 can't. Gear S3 and Moto 2nd edition. Same issue in both, so I know it's not Samsung software.
Pixel 2
I own a pixel 2 and am able to pair my Xbox one controller, and an audio source primarily my headphones or speaker, simultaneously without any problem. Am able to even use both at once front 40-50 ft before I start getting any audio stuttering.
My pixel 2 XL stays paired with my Sony smartwatch 3 constantly. And I can also be connected to my car or work truck & my Jaybirds at the same time. So I can be connected to 3 devices at once. I can choose in Bluetooth settings which device to send media & calls to. And get my notifications on my watch at the same time. Isn't this as it should be. I understood that this phone could connect to up to 5 Bluetooth devices at once.
I switched from a S8+ to the Pixel 2 XL a while ago and noticed there are some bluetooth issues. I can connect to multiple devices, but the connection is not always reliable, or just won't reconnect automatically. I'm using a Gear S3 smartwatch and a Sony WH-1000XM2 bluetooth headset. Both devices have problems with reconnecting automatically.
I think it has to do with priorities, because if I have my smartwatch connected and enable my headset, the headset does connect sometimes and sometimes not. So, if it doesn't connect automatically and I do it by myself, my headset always states "no phone calls" and I don't have the battery bar of the headset. If I disable phone calls on my headset and reenable it again, it does connect automatically a few times and the battery symbol pops up. It seems my smartwatch and my headset are fighting, which one should handle calls.
hells
I have the LG Watch Sport myself, and it won't connect to my phone at the same time as my Sony bluetooth headphones. I haven't used the smart watch with the pixel 2 xl because of this very issue.
Why have a phone with not headphone jack, and a dodgy headphone connector that doesn't always work, and then make connecting to two bluetooth devices, so difficult?
Not sure if it helps ease your mind, but it wont be an actual charge just a hold authorization. Not sure if the device replacement will solve your issue though. if possible, get to a store and try to pair on a demo unit (remember to unpair after!)
I have an android wear watch which is connected all the time, and connect to other bluetooth devices with no problem. Lots of bluetooth devices connect without saying they are connected - my watch shows as paired but not connected when I'm playing through something else.

I know only 2 brands which allow to connect multiple calling devices. Apple and Samsung. All others sucks. Apple and Samsung will allow you to choose headphone, car, smart watch to answer or make call without digging in settings but just on call screen. All others won't let you to choose more than one calling device connected to bt.

Well. Samsung can do it on nougat. Each brand developers should just enable it that is what we need.
I don't have issues connecting to multiple devices BUT my major issue is when I initiate a call from the phone I rarely ever can hear there either person. I end up having to turn off Bluetooth. I'll hear everything up until the person picks up the phone.
I have an LG watch sport. If I start the call from the watch I'm fine. I rarely make outgoing calls which is the ONLY reason why I'm about to tolerate this but when I do, I just want to toss the phone away.

I'm truly amazed at the shoddiness of the Pixel 2 XL's bluetooth performance. My last several phones were LGs and I never had any issues connected to devices or switching between multiple connected devices. With this sucker, I have to manually turn off my Beyerdynamic Byrons when I get near my car. Otherwise I have to go into the BT settings and select my car as the primary. There's no way to prioritize devices either...WTF are you doin' Google. My first and last google branded product. Sure quick updates and a lean OS are nice but not at the expense of functionality that's been part of smartphones for year. AND, I got a $300 discount from Verizon that's not really a discount. I have to finish the 2 years instead of paying the device off early. I'm a miserable camper with my mobile experience as a whole UGH!!!!
Try the app Bluetooth Auto Connect.
