Epik Gel Case for MT4G

I bought one of these for my MyTouch3G last year, and thought it was the BEST case I've ever had for a phone. I'm desperately wanting one for my MT4G, but haven't found one anywhere online yet. Anyone know where we can get these? I bought mine on eBay for $4.99 and free shipping from Hong Kong, and I got it in less than 2 weeks.

I agree, those are the best cases I've used. Had one for my original MyTouch and loved it. Hopefully they will get in gear and make them for the 4G now.

That's like the TPU cases others have mentioned, and been on the lookout for on eBay.
I like how they're flexible, but not plain silicon, and maintain the profile of the phone as much as possible.
I gotta pick up something pretty soon. I'd consider just a Phantom Skinz, but with a 3 year old who loves Angry Birds running around the house I need something that offers some drop protection.

i had been looking for these aswell. i bought one for my curve last yr from this guy. clicked this post in hopes to find that you had found them lol. i sent the seller an email asking about these for the 4g. ill check back in if/when he responds

How well does that case absorb a shock if the phone is dropped? I really like how its molded really well to the body-lines of the phone and doesnt look thick. Let us know asap when you do find out if they sell them yet! Thanks!

it does pretty good Thumper. when i had it on my bb i had no issued with it when i dropped it. and i dropped it all the time.

That's awesome news about him getting these cases in the next 1-2 weeks. I'm on my second T-Mo case, and I really haven't been too thrilled with them. Way too much money IMO for cases like these, and I'm considering returning/exchanging my newest one (soft rubber sleeve with white plastic backing) because the rubber attracts WAY TOO much dust.

These cases are STILL not available anywhere yet. Total BS!

There's Epik cases on eBay for the HTC HD7, didn't that come out the same day or about the same timeframe as our MT4G? If so, why hasn't there been an Epik case made yet for our phone?

i have no clue, but on a side note tmble has these type of cases at their stores. im tempted to get 2 of them. they have a sale going on 2accessories will land u 20% off and 3 will get u 30% off, but their 20 a peice....

T-Mobile does not carry the Epik branded cases at their stores. They don't have any cases that even come close to the Epik brand.

they arent 'epik' cases BUT they are TPU cases, which is exactly what the epik cases are. they have them for several phones including the mytouch 4g. if i go back ill take a pic and show you. if it werent for the price difference i would have gotten it. but yeah im pretty sure a youtube search would confirm it.

is that like some kinda zagg-like/phantom skin protector? if so YES these cases will fit just fine over that. it shouldnt disrupt anything.

Are these the bendable gel cases they had for the MT3G? It doesn't really specify that anywhere on his auctions, and the pictures make it look more like a hard plastic or hard gel/plastic case.

I got the belkin slim that BB had after I got my 32 grey from Fry's since BB only had 16's and that was late friday. The case is nice and very thin but still padded.

I have the belkin one and i do not recommend it to anyone. Im really not much of a fan of the blue texturing on it and for some reason you cant have the case closed and charge the tab simultaneously. I plan on returning it and getting the sammy one instead.

But then don't get free shipping

Only the Samsung case doesn't have cheap elastic bands in the corners or a "pouch" to slide the tablet in...and I hate the leather (or whatever) frame around the screen. I much prefer the way the tab snaps into the Samsung case, leaving the face of the tab clean and completely obstructed. That's why I went for the Samsung case.

I got the Belkin verve case (all black one) just something to protect the tab. The Samsung book one looks nice but I'm waiting for a few more reviews?

I'd like to get the Samsung case as well... hopefully you'll be able to find it from third party vendors for significantly less in the near future.

I'm calling shenanigans on this... I checked about 4 hours ago and just now for the hell of it. Yes, the blue 'buy online' button is there, but when you click the button, it is still back ordered and I have not received my email notification that it was ever in stock today...
Has anyone actually purchased it and have a tracking number?

I have ordered the Samsung Leather Pouch (normally $30). I'm going to look it over and if I feel I need a sturdier case occasionally, then I'm going to pickup the the Samsung Book Case. I am also considering trying out a silicone cover.

I got the gray slim Belkin case as well. I had a $25 Bestbuy gift card and used that... I'll sell it on craigslist as soon as the Samsung leather case becomes available and gets good reviews...
I think the Belkin isn't that bad actually.

Verizon Black Leather

I want to go to Best Buy today and get the g4 for verizon, but want it in the black leather.
I believe that's the only color available for verizon in leather but the best buy website doesn't show it as being available.
Any idea on this?
Should I buy the leather back later and where would I do that?
I'd rather not go the verizon store as best buy is offering a $100 gift card.
I've been waiting for today and really don't want to have to put off my purchase.

I got the VZW Black Leather. Got it from VZ direct. It is available, perhaps bestbuy could order it for you?

was the price the same for the black leather as it is for the regular back with verizon?
You can already buy the leather backs from ebay for about $70 and they'll probably be more widely available in the coming weeks and months, maybe for less.
I'm not sure what I want to do.
I really want this phone today and just thought best buy would have it in leather.
Maybe they will and it's just not on their website.

Same price for leather. I do agree on price drop for backs in the coming weeks. I have my eye on the red leather. I did see some cheep leather backs on ebay. They did look cheap quality though, I would stay away.

Did best buy end up having the black vzw leather for the g4. I really want it to but with the gift card.

No and neither did verizon store. Only for order. Do what I did and buy it with plastic and order leather back later when it's more widely available and cheaper. I got the deep blue and plan on getting red leather to match as back buttons are blue too

the leather isnt worth it man. it feels awful i shouldnt have got the leather one

I had p.o. with bb & vzw. I cancelled the bb to keep the leather fron vzw. I love the leather. Elsewhere here I did the math that shows vzw is cheaper than bb IF you want leather - even with the 100$ gift card. If you want plastic bb is better deal. But if you plan to buy a leather back even if prices drop online buying on vzw @ a cheaper base price (and then tax) to get leather to start is a better deal.

I ordered a Rosewood Styleswap on Aliexpress about two weeks ago. Was discounted from 25€ to 18€ so I gave it a shot. Pretty sure it's not legit, but I'd be happy to take some pics once it arrives.

I ordered the same yesterday with a tempered glass protector, has to be worth a shot i guess lol

Just ordered a black apricot cover for 17.49. Rolling my dice here also. I sure hope its real. This would be 10 dollars cheaper than OP and no paying for shipping.

Looks like there's a lot of listings on eBay for style swaps for $12-$15.
Some of them say they aren't original and some don't. They all of course just use the stock image.
Tempted to buy one but don't want it to be crap.

I also have a black apricot, kevlar, and rosewood back cover on the way from Aliexpress. In fact it may even be from the same listings as some of you guys here have bought from. They claim it to be original, and I honestly won't be surprised if they are genuine. After all OnePlus is from China. The phone is made in China, the official accessories are made and packed in China. And it is known that you can buy authentic stuff for Chinese brands from Taobao, Aliexpress..etc what not, even if they cost a lot less. The reason why they can afford to sell them so cheap is usually due to over production and cuts in packaging, so don't be surprised if your back cover comes shipped without the retail packaging. But it doesn't matter as long as its authentic.

I have also ordered the Apricot. Looking forward to give reviews

Thats what literally every seller on ebay and aliexpress says regardless of what they are selling.
What's more important is this portion in the description:

Also notice the picture of the phone with the sandstone cover back, the OnePlus logo is not present. Might be photoshopped to remove the logo due to risk of getting taken down however. But at that price it might be worth a shot even if its a replica? Butif the Aliexpress listings turn out to be the real deal, I'd rather buy that instead for 17.49 USD. :victory:

Yeah I knew they weren't genuine but that is in Aussie $ so pretty cheap for US$ and Euros. Yeah no extra taxes coming into Oz for us, not yet anyway they have just changed the law for next year.
I bought this cover from Hong Kong and it is excellent. I was pretty dubious to the quality when I ordered but at that price why not. The fit is perfect and has a great non slip feel very similar to the original back case. I like it as it is nice and light and no extra bulk to the phone. I got the black cover just see what it looked like and very pleasantly surprised. In US$ just over $5.00. Bargin lol

The fabric cases have been discounted on Google's Store.
Most are out of stock with delivery at 3-4 weeks.
Does anyone know anywhere in the UK that has the Cement case in stock?
I'm buying phone as a gift for wife and want cover, but don't want to have to wait weeks.

Not fancy the midnight one? Carphone warehouse also stock the cases, but you'll need to search on Google for Google Pixel 2XL fabric case as if you try and find them on the website you can only find the smaller cases.

Thanks for your offer, but the shipping costs to UK would make it too expensive.
It's currently £28 in UK (approx 37.78 USD) They're also currently 35USD on Google's store in US .
I'm looking for either someone in the UK, or a UK store that still has stock.

I would also like to order the cement one for the non XL Pixel 2 I'm in Portugal, though. If someone find a link not expensive please share

How is it regarding being slippery and getting stains?

I'm also interested about sliperiness (is that even a word? Not my native language).

I find the grip to be perfect. I have the Cement and it picks up the dye from my jeans pretty easily, but I like the look of it after it's done so. I got a black spot on it so I washed it with some soap and hot water and let it air dry. It looked brand new again until I put it back in my pocket.

I'm seriously thinking about returning my fabric case, I feel that the phone its more slippery than without it!

That's a shame.
I've bought that one as well, used on ebay, let's hope I don't feel that way also. I'm using the Ringke Fusion Clear TPU Case and it's a very good TPU Case, lots of grip and protection and only costs 12 bucks. But it sure dosent look as premium as the Google fabric ones...

So far so good. It's less slick than a naked phone, but not super grippy.

But the looks and feel make up for it, right? Otherwise I'll stick with my Ringke Fusion Clear TPU Case, which I am loving so far.

I don't know why this case is so expensive, but it's a nice case. I got the carbon one and don't find it slippery...
