Just purchased a display model Sprint Epic Touch D710 and decided to root it with Odin-OC. It appeared to go flawlessly (PASSED) but when restarted several times only comes up to home screen enter pass code and home screen does not respond to anything - locks up at this point and reboots. My actual model is MV SAM710BK if this makes any difference. It came with Sprint FreedomPop. I should have backed it up before rooting but did not. Should I try to unroot it and go back to stock? Can I just reverse the rooting? Thanks in advance - Bill
Fixed problem - phone back working better than ever!
Hopefully this will help someone else who does the same thing. First BACKUP!!! before rooting or changing ROM I know this is basic but I messed up and its scary not knowing if your device will ever work again or not. If you need to "goback" like me well you cant since there was no backup so what I did was load the latest stock rom - no erase data - that WAS also rooted. I guess the worst that could have happened was I would have wiped the device and gone back to stock. Go to this web site:
http://www.rwilco12.com/downloads.p...ung Galaxy S2 (Sprint) (SPH-D710)/Stock ROMs/
and get the latest ROM available in my case it was Odin GA10_818252_Rooted_Nodata and once installed it will open Odin3Excution v1.81 interface where you connect and download with basically one click. The Update or whatever you want to call it is better than the stock one I received with bloatware gone and things working better than original. Awesome resource RWilco12's web site!

Okay so I just bought this phone from craigslist. It was rooted when I got it. I factory reset the data but then restarted the phone and got stuck in a boot loop. So, I decided to unroot it and put it back to it's original state. I downloaded the original stock kernal - acs-eb30-stock-kernal-pulled.tar - and I loaded it on via Odin. I then followed the command prompt steps to fully unroot the phone and it was successful. I'm not stuck in a boot loop anymore however I can't access the main home page, the settings, get a wifi connection, anything really. It just keeps asking me to put in my google account settings but I can't connect to wifi. I can't get to the home screen page. It's almost like maybe that was the wrong kernal? I was looking for the stock kernal and people were saying it's EG30 not EB30. Any suggestions?
That's probably for another Samsung phone. There was never a EB30 for this phone. It shipped with EG30.
I suggest you use the EK02 ODIN One-Click in my signature. Use the full version that resets your user data.

Steps please (to remove ROOT and flash with Stock ROM)
Hi,
I have a similar issue. I rooted my phone (Sprint Samsung Galaxy 2 (also called Epic Touch) after I got it in early 2011.
Now I want to remove the root to sell it so it seems I need to "flash a stock ROM". I am not exactly sure how to do that. Can anyone give me steps?
Where do I get ODIN?
Where do I get the stock ROM for this phone?
How do I flash with that Stock ROM using Odin?
Thanks so much in advance. :good:

Hi all,
I made a dumb move and installed the CM11 port for my T320 without backing up my Samsung stock firmware. (I'd post over in the appropriate thread in the development section, but I haven't posted here frequently enough to be allowed over there). I want to go back to the Samsung UI for now because I am having some troubles with CM11 ... my tablet thinks it's a phone, so I'm not getting the tablet features and app versions. Plus something is off with my screen so that some apps (Flipboard, at least) runs everything off the right side and bottom of the screen. Anyway, does anyone have an idea of how to get me back to my Samsung UI? I can't get Kies to talk to my tablet (another thing that cropped up with this CM build) so I can't get that to reflash it for me.
I have downloaded an Odin-flashable Samsung stock firmware from Australia (I'm in the US) so I'm guessing that will work, but I'd rather find an easier option before I give my tablet a globetrotting split identity disorder or something.
Please understand, I've rooted, reflashed, and even unbricked devices before, so I'm not new to this, just made a dumb mistake.
I believe that is the only way to go. The good news is you can install twrp recovery now so it shouldnt be an issue again. Bad news is there isnt a flashable stock firmware that I know of yet. Im kinda hoping for cleanrom as he did a hell of a job on the note 3 and knows the system better than most.

I've used Samsung Kies from my PC several time to go back to stock.
When using Kies you may have to switch your connection from MTP to the other option and of course check debug.
I went back and forth from CM11 several time plus I did what you did also except I used the New Zealand version
Here's what I did to restore stock from Kies.
Plug in the tablet, open Kies, and click Tools then Firmware upgrade and initialization. Type in SM-T320, hit okay, then add your serial number.
Basically just follow the steps it asks you and make sure your tablet is in download mode. It will download the stock firmware image and flash it to the device.
My instructions might now be 100% accurate, but that's basically the process I took to restore it to factory.
Hey all,
I have read all over the place on how to get this working but I honestly get more confused the more I read. I wanted to switch to another OS since my phone was starting to become bogged down (too many pictures, videos, old files, etc etc etc; My phone is my work tool since I'm a field sales engineer)
So I went ahead and rooted it with ODIN 3 v1.85 and I317-UCUBMK6.tar.md5. I also installed TWRP although I have no clue which version it is. I suppose it's the latest one. My bootloader is LJ2.
I always do the full swipe and a NANDROID back up. However, when I flash a custom ROM, I always end up stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Note II screen. It won't go.
I have tried to install the following ROM's:
DN3 - Always says "Failed" when I try to flash, even when following instructions of reboot recovery and flash again.
JEDI X 20 - Go through the entire aroma installer - it installs - asks for reboot - when rebooting, stuck as Samsung Galaxy Note 2 screen
and it pretty much happens with all of them. I have decided to back to stock (because I was a retard and accidentally deleted my NANDROID backup) and now I find my WIFI is broken.
I pretty sure this has all been discussed in various threads but I rather bring it all into one so that all that are having the same issue as me (I read a lot of people complaining about this issue with very scattered replies) can have a single thread that addresses how to fix this.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks man. That post brought a lot to light. So I have the MK6 firmware but the LJ2 bootloader. I'll try doing what Zen Arcade says there but unfortunately I cant download his files. The website he's hosting the files from has severe lag and the files stop downloading.
I'll get back to you on how this goes once I'm able to download them.

Finally downloaded it. Installed it and got that particular operating system working. I will try to get some customs roms installed. Thanks for the help man!
Hey all, I've had my Samsung Galaxy S3 (SPH-L710 for Sprint) for some time now. Since the time I purchased (which was around the time it was released) I've had SlimRom installed. Never had any problems, updates always went through flawlessly, and I love the rom. Just the other day, I decided to update slimrom from to the newest stable version which is 7. Flash went through successfully, everything seemed fine and dandy as usual. But I had no service for some reason... Tried several methods of repairing the problem, to no avail.
In my about phone section, everything is all messed up; my phone number says "000-000-0016" my MIN "0000000016" PRL Version "1" IMEI "Unknown" and unfortunately I do not have a back up of anything, because I completely wiped my phone and did a full restore/unroot using rwilco's method here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755793.
So now I am unrooted, I still can not get my phone to activate. Talked to a sprint rep at this point to see if they could help. After telling me to do a few different commands, such as ##3283# and changing the info with my MSL and what not, nothing worked. He was stumped. Now I am stumped, and I've got an unrooted Wi-Fi only S3 at the moment.
I've gone through so many threads and different articles and just can not find an answer. I really didn't want to start a thread asking for help, as I've never had to before. But now I feel like a complete noob and need it! Please anybody!

To my knowledge the only way to repair this problem would be to buy another device........but before you do that did you make a backup of the rom that was working perfectly and did you try restoring it before you went with Odin? What was your bootloader/modem before you flashed the initial slimrom?

I did make a back up, unfortunately however, when I did the full restore I lost everything that was on my phone, including the back up. And I did not try restoring is before doing Odin. About the bootloader/modem, no idea.
Welp, seems like its done. I'm eligible for an upgrade anywho. Think I'm going in today and picking up a new LG G3, not sure yet though. Can't decide what phone I want...
Have you tried dialing ##72786#? It is a forced reactivation.
Gents,
Hi!! This is my first post here!
Okay so I want to start off by telling you that I am a beginner with all this. I have a Galaxy I747 which I started by rooting because the battery life sucked really bad and it was frustrating to have a dead phone by noon. So I did that and started tweaking stuff. Long story short I was getting rid of bloatware and managed to delete the logsprovider file which messed up my phone. I didn't know about titanium backup at the time but shortly found out haha now I have the paid app. I also downloaded TWRP recovery thankfully. Anyways... In the middle of trying to get the logsprovider file back my phone froze in the reboot process and it only loaded up to the ATT symbol and froze there. I was able to get into the TWRP recovery and I was going to install the stock ROM to try and get it unbricked. I couldn't get any of those zip files to load. I happened to stumble upon the ktoonsez build and it worked awesome. The only problems I have ran into is that the sim card doesn't show my contacts anymore. The phone doesn't even have that option to show contacts from the sim card. Also, when I have an incoming call, it puts a +sign in front of the phone number so I don't know who it is (unless I have everyone's phone number memorized) and when I call back it says that it is an international phone number. This is very annoying. I noticed that the build might be for a sprint phone? I don't know if this is any different from what I need since I have ATT phone with straight talk? I have googled and researched for days now and my wife is getting mad at all the time I have invested in research trying to figure out the incoming call thing. Can you please help me?
In the "About device" screen I have:
KitKat (4.4.2)
Baseband version: I747UCUFNJ2
Kernel version: 3.4.0-g2d4cae8 [email protected] #2
Build Number: KOT49H.L710VPUDND8
Hardware version: REV0.4
Thank you in advance!!

Sounds like you have yourself a CDMA build on a GSM phone. If you want to run stock your best bet is to flash the nj2 ROM enewman posted.
forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-att/general/rooted-ucufnj1-stock-rom-t2985006
If you want some debloated and optimized stock s3rx is a good choice, just look for the nj2 based release in the development section.
You're on the latest firmware so you are OK to flash the cm and aosp custom Roms based on lollipop and marshmallow too.
In download mode, do you see anything on the screen about warranty bit?
If you don't, you could flash a stock att rom from sammobile.com.
If you do, I recommend flashing twrp as a custom recovery and then flash cm12.1 to at least get the phone booted to make sure it still functions.
Its okay guys. I really do appreciate your help. I went ahead and got CM 12.1 on there and everything works perfectly with no bloatware or anything. Now I have lollipop installed and I also ran the google play store zip so that works too. You guys are awesome!!
