Returned MDA Pro for Repairs

Hi,
Today I returned to the T-mobile shop. I deliverd my dutch MDA Pro for Repairs.
I have the following complains:
- Battery dies at 54%. Very anoying.
- Calls are not clear, sometimes I cant understand anything someone say. I have a bad reception.
- Device is slow. You all know it.
Befor I returned my device, I took out my SIMcard, Memorycard and Stylus. I flash the latest dutch t-mobile rom (1.30.233) to my device and gave it a hard-reset.
The woman at the story told me I should receive a call in 10 workingdays to pick up my device. I'll let you know how it turns out.

IMHO Your Uni is ok. Battery issue was described many times over the forum and its connected to wornout battery. (In Your case Youll should get new battery after a repair so its good point)
Bad reception is propably because old radio rom - have You tried to upgrade it?
Slowness is a personal matter - mine is sometimes slow also but it depends on soo many elements thats its hard to define what precisely is slow.
Anyway how will You survive whitout Your Uni - its a question ;-)

I know I can't. I just hope nothing goes wrong with my device, at least before any of the clamshell PDAs start to roll out. I would hate to buy another Universal, just to see a new version the next month.

BTW wats ur result after the upgrade did it solved ne of the problem .

Artemis turns off during phone call

Hi,
my Artemis turns off every now and then and I'm getting a bit pissed off by the phone. Because it happens exspecially when I'm talking to someone. The error occurred first about two weeks ago and i tried to fix wit an hard reset, but that didn't worked out. I also don't think it has anything to do with the battery, since it also turns off while being connected to the charger.
If anyone knows help, I would be grateful.

My XDA Orbit is doing the same thing - randomly switching off when in use (either phone call or browsing the web). Its being doing this for over the last two to three weeks and I, too, am getting pissed off with it. My Orbit is over two years old so I'm suspecting the battery although the battery meter states everything is OK. I've just purchase a new battery on-line and, when I receive, I'll let you know if it cures the resetting issue.

Received battery on Saturday and early indications look as though it has cured the problem of the phone resetting. If anything changes, I'll keep you posted.

i also got same problem in my p3300 so did changing battry really solvd problms?

awesome.. i think most of us have purchase this amazing handset more or less the same time..
all of our devices loosing out on batt.... no bad..
can any one please update the price of a new battery ?
i am in india now.. will be going to singapore this month end to watch the formula 1.. are there any options to buy it in singapore to save some money on it ??

I have over 200 of these devices in their various guises, and I can tell you that this is a very common problem. If you are lucky you only need change the battery and the device will be fine. If that does not improve matters then good luck as I am yet to find a solution when the problem is not simply the battery. At the moment my best effort is to flash the device with an upto date original ROM and change the battery. It seems to help but I can't say it fixes them as I have not monitored how the reflashed devices perform yet. I will post when I have used the reflashed devices for a few months and see how they go on

Hi radcarash,
do you have any findings? I got the same issue with one Artemis, and it seams the battery change doesn't help at all. I'm just wondering if you found already another solution to cure this world wide problem.

Once upon a time,about 8 months ago,there was the little newbie me,I that old E975(lgg) and decided he should get a new phone with all those "G4's" "S6's" etc,I wanted a phone with killer specs,and the best camera out there,so I decided to go with the g4,looked up prices online on his country. Pretty damn high,so i found that one shop that sold it for like 100$ less,no official warranty,unofficial warranty for 1 year,that seems fair,I bought it,the biggest mistake i ever made, the phone was so good,it worked like a charm,and god damn that camera was awesome,about 4 months ago i was sending a whatsapp when it just got stuck on that screen,m'kay i tried restarting,won't work,removed the battery and inserted an other one,boot to lg logo and then shut down,alright, i still got warranty. time to use it,went to the store,they said "we can't fix it",worst customer support EVER,ever since that I've been using that ****ty replacement phone,ewo,so today i was really bored and decided to look up the problem and noticed my s/n begins with "505" looked it up,apparently all the g4's with that s/n got stuck eventually,and the store knows that and since my warranty is unofficial I can't do ****,or can I? is there any way to get out of this with a functioning phone?help?

Mine died yesterday. It's a hardware fault apparently and can't be fixed. You can, however, disable big cores and recover your data, but your phone will be really slow.

i was just about to cook the phone and teared it apart,i saw the whole oven thing and i thought to myself "Why the hell not" and well it should work...if it will stay the same i'll use your tutorial and probably use the really slow G4 instead of my current 2012 Huawei

Phone doesn't work really slow, if you know what to do. My phone is working since I disabled the big cores what is about 2 weeks now, I'm even on a custom ROM. All you need to do is to root it and using 'Device Control Manager' (Kernel Adiutor doesn't work for me) change the frequency what will enable all 4 cores and with 4 there is no big difference in the performance really. I feel like it's more Qualcomms fail than LG's, cuz look G4 was first phone with Snapdragon 808 wasn't it? What if the first processors they made they sent to LG as they are all now in s/n's 505-509 and what if these are faulty? It actually would make sense, with 6 cores my phone didn't even turn on, with 4 it works as normal, it means there is 'something' wrong with the two faster cores..

It's LG's fault. They have admitted such. It's a faulty connection/motherboard.

i've baked the phone,it works for now,how can i make sure that it'll keep working?

Replace the motherboard.

but they don't sell them on my country,and it'll cost like 400$ with shipping,and nobody replaces mobo's here,so is there any way to make this one keep working?

I'm sorry, but unfortunately you dug your own grave with that one. You may have saved yourself $100, but caused yourself major issues in the long run sacrificing that warranty.

Honestly, there is apparently no way to ensure it'll keep working. A lot of users have reported their phone dying again after LG has fixed it. A motherboard replacement is the second best option with the first being a phone other than the G4.

Gyus my mobile has very strange behavior . restarts without reasons, imost times cannot connect to wifi and other strange things . it got to a specialist and he said that probably is the battery . One else said it is the cpu and that its going to die .
I have it pure stock. no root no nothing. i wipe everything and reflash the latest rom but i have the same problems
can somebody help me?

Buy a new battery...$15 US - http://www.lg.com/us/cell-phone-batteries
If that link isn't good for you in your country, anker makes a decent-cheap replacement.
If you buy a new battery and you're still having problems then you go from there, but until you try a new battery don't assume it's the phone that is f-ing up. When G3 batteries die they usually don't give you much warning - they just die - and your phone does crazy things like random reboots, etc.

Nexus 5x boot loop issues shoud i be worried that mine will do the same ?

Hello guys i've been seeing a lot of boot loop news and lg starting to refund people because they don't have spare parts : http://www.mobilechoiceuk.com/News/...offering-refunds-instead-of-replacements.aspx .
So should I be worried that my 5x will boot loop ? I've been using it for 2 months now on 7.0 september update .

Hi, i guess that nobody could know that, but the problem seems to be the same as LG G4, LG V10, LG Flex 2 (all 2015 devices with almost the same motherboard that the Nexus 5x). You can search on the web "bootloop G4 reddit" "nexus 5x bootloop reddit" and you will find tons of reports, the majority of them (N5x) from last 3 months, and this holds the theory that is a welding issue on the CPU or sometimes on the EMMC chip (apparently LG did not weld very well that year...). The mentioned devices (included ours) seem to last from 9 to 14 months and finally the welding breaks. But now, we know it's strictly a HARDWARE issue NOT caused by 7.0 upgrade, irt's only a question of coincidence between the useful life of the weld and the launch of the 7.0 OTA.
So we all got very high possibilities that this occurs to our devices, eventually. I'm not sure that this is gonna happen to you, it really dependes of many many many factors (heavy usage, kernel profiles, temperature of your country/city/house/workplace, etc etc).
Maybe it never happens to you, but i know what you feel, is not very nice to feel that your phone could die in any moment. It was a low punch for me (i owned a G4 and it bootlooped twice) anyway i am going to sell my N5x due to this problem. Hope i help you with my point of view.

My guess is it is far more than normally expected for phones but nowhere near as prevalent as posts on forums might make it seem.
So normally you might expect .01% of these types of solder problems. If the problem went up 100x to 1% and you sold 3m phones, that means 30,000 phones with the problem, whereas before you might only see 300.
30,000 people searching google and seeing other people posting about bootloop can start a panic.
If you actually had 10, 20, 30% of people with this problem you would have huge threads.
That's just my opinion.

If you said "It is solder not weld." for me, thanks i didn't know the correct word, english is not my native language (I only learn reading on forums), so i see that you know (or it seems) about solder problems. Look i had two LG G4 both of them die, but not just mine even a cousin had the same issue whit his G4, so i really want to know if you think that the 5x soldering problem is a similar case of high-end 2015 LG Phones G4/V10/FLEX2 (of that magnitude)? or if it's just a "paranoia", i mean we know that the bootlooping issue on this device exists but you would recommend me (i really like this phone) to keep it?
This issue got me really worried due to my bad experiencie with the G4. I just bought the N5x 1 month ago. thank you.

same question how to know if my phone will bootloop...i have my nexus 5x 5 week ago but i bay it not new i bay it used...i upgrade to android nougat no issus right now..ho to know if i will have a probleme in the future iam afraid now

I've been dealing with substandard solder since xbox RROD (red ring of death) where everyone was trying to get their xbox cpu reballed until microsoft admitted the problem.
As I mentioned, I'm sure the incident on 5x is much higher than normal phones, but that might still be a low % (even though it is a relatively high absolute # because of the # of phones that are sold)
I have no idea whether 5x is worse, better, or same as G4 problem. G4 seemed even higher, but could be because more phones were sold. Only LG knows for sure.
A lot of folks in US are finding that their credit card actually extends their warranty beyond manufacturers warranty and people will probably get their money back that way if all else fails.
Of course that doesn't help you if you are traveling and the phone dies. I end up using Google Fi as the service provider for this phone, so if that happened I could just shift all the calls and texts to another phone or tablet and keep going until I get a replacement phone, so I'm not super worried.
I regularly back up the stuff on my phone so the most I would lose is like 1 or 2 days of stuff, which I can deal with.
Personally I wouldn't be super worried this is going to happen to you, but be prepared with backups in case it does, but that is good practice for any phone, because it could always get stolen or drop and break.

I got my 5X a month ago.... I figure it has a 1 yr warranty so I am not too worried yet.... Lets hope if it happens it does it in the next 11 months

please someone tell me how to know if my phone nexus 5x will have bootloop.i bay this phone not new but used .i bay it from a shop he tell me is from usa and me from morroco.i dont have any paper of warranty or something like this i just have the phone...if the bootloop issus touch my phone what can i do?i have the warranty or not???i dont have mony to buy a new phone please help me

Well from what I know if you don't have warranty paper then you can't get warranty by just showing the phone . Its not a 100% chance that it will boot loop I think , but if your not safe with it I suggest selling it working rather than looking for help when broken . Thats just my point of view .

Well I think i have the same point of view to sell the phone working rather that having a paper holder . At least for me its the most logical thing to do maybe the chance isn't high for it to happen but I am not secure with a tought that my phone could die + im a heavy user so i migh make it to the boot loop faster .

oooh nooo is there an application or something to know if the motherboard is fine or something like this and the bootloop dont affected my device??

Well I don't know if there is or not but from what I know about the problem its random af , so I don't think there is unless only some motherboards are prone to the defect but I think it involves all , just happens randomly . Not 100% sure tho !
