[Q] M8 Touchscreen problems - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I have a strange problem with my m8.
Since one month ago , my touchscreen started to not respond in some areas. The strange part is that this happen randomly, can happen twice a day, or at 3-4 days away. My question is should i replace touchscreen, or maybe another solution? I've read somewhere that the AC could cause this strange problem. Any ideas?
Thanks!

HTC Artemis freezes or blacks out

Hi,
For two days I have had a serious problem with my HTC P3300 Artemis:
There are actually 3 different things that happen:
1. The phone freezes while working. No idea what causes it. Happened at different occasions.
2. The phone doesn't wake up when I hit the wake-up-button.
3. Often while rebooting the screens whites out or whites out and gets green or purple vertical lines.
In each case only removing the battery helps.
I use Mossisrom as my OS.
Can anybody tell me how to fix the problem? Is it a hardware or software problem? Please help me!!!

I get the problem about waking up too. Sometimes it won't for a while. I leave it a couple of seconds and then try again which usually works.
Have you checked how much free internal memory you have. WM seems to still be very sensitive to low memory.
Hi,
I am rather sure that it's not a memory issue. The system freezes completely, not just for some seconds. I can't call the phone either. I think its either a SW or a HW problem and hoped, someone could tell me what to do.

I can only suggest resetting the ROM back to a standard one and seeing if you still get the problems. If you do, it is probably a hardware problem and you should get the phone replaced.
I had the exact same problem with my P3300. It's a malfunction in the Motherboard. I've called the dutch helpdesk and because a hard reset didn't do much good the PDA was picked up later that day to be sent to Eurotwice, the repair station in Belgium. I got my phone back 2 weeks later, I started it and it froze again! So I immediatly called HTC Netherlands and again, the P3300 was picked up by UPS that afternoon. The second time I wrote a letter to the repair station and sent it with my phone. In another topic on another website I read that some other phone with the same problem had been fixed by replacing the motherboard. I got my phone back today and it works great! It hasn't crashed today, and I have confidence it won't in the future. So my tip to you and anyone who experiences this problem: Call the HTC helpdesk in your country and ask them to sent your PDA to a repair station. It might take a while but they fix it well! By the way, you have 2 years full garantee so it didn't cost me anything! Great service from HTC!
Wow, you had a great experience from HTC . I didn't. I had the exact same problem as posted. HTC claimed I broke the phone myself and wanted to charge me. They claimed something broke behind the screen and that I must've pressed it too hard, despite the screen still being intact. After three months of phone calls to the UK and a lot of empty promises (promised to get a manager to call me back, never got them. promised to discuss with repair dept and call me back, never got them) I finally got my phone back , fixed. No explanation as to why they changed their mind. I had asked them to take a picture for me of what was broken and to how they came to the conclusion that I was the one who broke it. Maybe they were too lazy to do it.

Turning itself off?

Hello all,
I have a HTC Desire and its great can't fault it at all however my girlfriend got one yesterday she is experiencing an issue whereby the phone would randomly turn itself off. It did this last night meaning the alarm didnt go off this morning making her late for work.
Anybody else expericing this issue.
Cheers
Daz
Not quite... but when my battery was really low it turned itself off then on again etc... rather odd.
I experienced this when i first got the phone. and now it has jsut started resetting itself.
I will be phoning T-Mobile and getting a replacement as there is clearly a fault.

[Q] Screen keeps turning on and off by itself. Occasional reboot.

Hi guys,
Just so you know I've posted this in the Optimus 7 thread and have gotten no replies after 2 days.
I've been using my Optimus 7 for barely a week now and I ran into this very annoying issue that happened yesterday.
My screen would turn itself on and off randomly and the device would occasionally reboot itself. I suspect it might be a hardware problem. I've done a factory reset and the problem persists.
Does anyone have any solutions/advice?
Thanks in advance.

I can only say - I use this one, LG E900, and have no reboots or screen going on.
But it may be a faulty app, however I'm not sure. My phone has over 1,5 months.
SD Card; had the same problem, changed the SD card to another - get this: same make, same capacity! BUT, I never had any problem since... that was 3 weeks ago
Return the phone for an exchange. I had a Samsung Focus briefly when it came out, no problems. Got another one near the end of Christmas, and had touch scrolling problems, the phone would shut off by itself every week or so, etc. If I hadn't had the first Focus, I would have assumed it was the OS. I took it by, exchanged, and have had none of the problems since then.

So it's the sd card? But this morning the screen stopped flickering on and off and the random reboots stopped. I'll monitor the situation. Thanks for your input!
had the exact same problem with mine, screen turning on and off, random reboots. Return it for an exchange or use the warranty to repair it.

[Q] Display issues

Hi, I can't explain my problem, I filmed it and put on youtube...

My tablet is 20 days old, with root and unlocked bootloader...stock 4.4.2...thanks
Allot of those tablets have phantom touch issues, not responding to touch issues, and grounding issues. I suggest you return it and either buy something else or keep trying to you get a good one.I tried 2 and both were defective.

Regarding the screen flickering issue

Hello everyone
I bought the lg g4 about a month ago. It has 601 s/n so not an old build i think but sadly i have the known screen flickering problem that appears couple of times through the day, i dont want to send it to be repaired because it takes alot of time and i hate having a repaired phone so i'd rather selling it in the next few months.
Does anyone know if the problem gets worse by time or it just stays like it is?
Sorry for the long thread and answers will be much appreciated
