I reported the aforementioned travesty to the Administration on 5th of April 2015, at 08:03 AM (58 days ago). Then again once more, on 13th of April 2015, at 03:10 AM, in the Operator Logos and Flag Problems Thread. And yet, there is no Justice for the Cocos Island.
When will there be Justice?

First, you could use the flag thread you were pointed to last time, and ask if anyone has looked into your request you made there.
Second, not all requests are acted on. Your home is a territory of Australia. My country has provinces and territories also... But we are represented by the country flag. As are many other places.
I would not take it as an insult to your home, just understand not every province, territory, state... Etc, can have a flag on the site. It's much work and can be considered confusing.
That's just my 2 cents. But again, you could ask if your request has been seen in the flag thread. And know that it may not be granted.

edit: added poll
i believe that it would be a really great idea if one new market place subforum is added. this would be dedicated to finding genuinly great deals on phones or services that people normally look for here. there are just too many
a friend was about to pay an absurd $950 (locally)for an xperia 2 weeks ago and i managed to save him more than $250 based on a post (that was actully misplaced)
what do you guys think? please voice your opinion. if there is a lot of interest and if our request is reasonable. im sure the administrators wont ignore it
Some threads already discussing this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469619&highlight=Selling

XDA-Developers isn't a market place and doesn't want to be IMO, we are a development forum. If a Marketplace was setup we would start attracting power sellers and scammers - there's no denying it, you cannot trust anyone on the internet . This would mean xda-developers would then have a responsibilty over what was sold on it's site.
Buying and selling of devices on this forum has caused problems before - a senior member on this forum scammed a number of users by selling devices that didn't exist.
Known users selling a second hand device after an upgrade is allowed (for the moment).
Thanks
Dave
i think the $700 he paid is too much. you can get it for even less from UK shops like expansys or handec or ebay even with shipping put into consideration.
the idea has merit but dave is also making a lot of sense .
mabe we can reach middle ground by creating a new "deals" subforum for all devices. a single subforum should not be that hard to moderatea slickdeals.net type forum is extreemly valuable to far too many people espeically new-comers.
oh and btw its now possible to buy decent wm devices for as litte as $160. pda+keyboard+3.5G+520mhz+wifi http://www.expansys.ae/p.aspx?i=147071
are you sure expansys.ae is not a scam site. a similar phone like this would cost about 2-3 times as much
i just added a poll in hope that this will give the admins a better idea what people want.
i just find it a bit unbalnced that there are so many uneeded forums (like accssories subforum for EACH phone that was ever created while something as usuful as this does not get a forum based on the ASSUMPTION that it will be abused.
how about they create a forum for a test period and if it proves to be problamatic the admins remove it.
As posted before
Already are threads regarding this
what i am asking for is a toned down vesion of what what asked before
-im not asking a per device forum.
-not asking forum wtb/wts forum.
im just asking for a single test forum that will help people find good deals on wm all smartphones. the moderators are already handling over 50 subforums. is one extra really a big deal??!!
now if only i could get more people to vote too see how other people feel about this

To be fair, if you look at who it is that's saying "it's been talked about before, and we think that the idea is problematic and we don't really want it to become a marketplace" you might notice one significant fact that i believe you are overlooking. That fact is that we're talking about some of the more significant, long-term contributors to the forum, and people who have actually talked to the site admin before and know the owner's/admin's feelings about the matter. The issue isn't that we can't handle one more sub-forum, or even 10 more for that matter, but rather what that sub-forum will contain. You have not even been a member one month, and I in no means intend to put you down, but believe me when i say that if you spend the next year learning and contributing here on the forum, you will have a much different perspective than you do now.
There are already marketplace forums in existence but it does not belong here. Personally, I do not agree with people creating threads selling their devices on here. Many of us remember the Cuboosh scams that took place a short while ago and many considered him a valued member to this community prior to his shady activities.
In addition, I am undecided whether I agree with people linking their eBay listing here. If you want to promote more attraction to your listing do it elsewhere.
Below is a handy website that does have marketplace deals for many items. If you want to add deals on win-mo devices to their forums feel free too.

Similar Story
A friend of mine is a mod on a site that has fairly heavy trading of sports cards and other collectibles. Admittedly that site is largely focused on that activity, or at least it has become a major focus over time (I'm not a member and have no part in it, so I admit, I know little of it's history).
He's told me a number of times about complications with scammers, and even repeat offenders who return even after being banned numerous times, which has even forced the site to have more moderators to manage scammers than mods for thread problems. To my knowledge (and logic), the site only supports people trading within the United States, which obviously has stricter laws and enforcement on mail scams than there are for international situations. Despite all of their efforts, they still have people trying to rip off others all the time. Given the nature of how easy it is to set up a website that even looks legit, plus crossing international lines in many cases, this site would be inviting the worst kind of activity where people would be spending large amounts on electronics that will never be delivered.
There's already a pretty good standard of people searching around and asking the forum if others have dealt with a specific site/seller before....which seems to usually just get more people suggesting expansys (why oh why can't there be a decent seller in the US?)
270 views and only 12 votes.im quite surprised with the level of interest of this idea.this does not look like it will fly here
are there any other good sites that provide for what im asking?
I've only been a member a couple of weeks (lurked previously) but like mentioned above, I see this forum as a development/support tool, not a marketplace. It's a place people come to learn about a device they've already got, or are getting. I undertand the reasoning behind your suggestion, but there are many, many other sources of purchase information/price comparison sites on the internet. I spent weeks researching prices before deciding on how to buy my Touch HD and to be honest, on that particular point, this site didn't really enter into it. It does now, obviously.
There are many sites in the UK that compare mobile phone prices, whether they be handset only, pay as you go, or monthly contract. I'm surprised there aren't similar sites elsewhere in the world.
I cannot vouch for any of these sites, use at your own risk, etc, etc, but I used them during my search for the best package:

http://www.moneysupermarket.com/MobilePhones/default.aspx

I reject your change and substitute my own!
Preface:
I'm very aware that this is a primarily HTC device forum.
However it has a great community of developers that are working across multiple platforms to make android devices better for the community as a whole.
That being said i'd love to see a forum for these wifi-only tablets there is a growing community of people with these tablets searching for help with them.
There's already a 14 page Thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=836128 and several other smaller threads about them.
All the info i've been able to locate about these tablets is scattered in rogue threads around several forums and it would be nice to have a place to get it all together.
I think that with the exposure this forum gets it would be the ideal place to see the development for this tablet take off. It's a budget oriented tablet that is going to continue to see sales. It's currently available in at least 4 major retailers in the US Toys 'R' Us, Sears, K-mart, and Hastings.
If this thread is out of place please forgive me. If there is another thread already requesting a forum then please close this one.
I would recommend another tablet though. 1 week after getting one of these for my daughter the tablet locked up so hard I can't even use android tools to access. Now, several weeks and several unresponded-to emails later, including Sylvania's direct line in Denver, I still have a brick with a warranty that sucks.
Whether or not this is in interesting tab....I wouldn't buy anything from this crap of a company based on my experience with their service.
Examples, no phone on web site despite contact info for Digital Gadgets support. Emails not responded to now for 3 weeks. 10 days since call to Denver where they said I would "hear from them in a day or two".
I am calling my attorney general to complain about the seller not honoring a return and Sylvania for not honoring their warranty.
I ask this totally un-PC question because as I read more and more about UK vendors coming out officially and saying that you can indeed get the Nexus on the 17th, I feel like going back to all those threads where people started *****ing about Google being this and Samsung being that, without exercising any real thought applied with patience. Evidently the launch (everyelse but the Americas I'm guessing) hasn't been botched as (I'm paraphrasing) many have said. The Americas... well, I think we've come to understand that Verizon is playing hardball.
Even though I can't be bothered to go through the threads, the are plenty of others where people start flaming companies, others forum users, self-flaming for erotic pleasure, whatever.
This *****slap icon/logo is not a ban or a warning for bad language. It's more just, "please, stop being a petulant baby."

I would love to have a *****slap icon.
I agree, I like it so much I would even post just to *****slap myself.

Surely OP should get one first
LOL. I agree a *****slap icon would be fun.
However, on the topic of the launch, i would say the *****slap icon should be used only after the 17th if its proven there is wide general availability of the GNexus. I still think there are e-tailers advertising misleading dates. Just today Clove confirmed to a user (posted somewhere on the gnexus thread) that they didnt know when stock would actually arrive and they may not be able to ship till w/c 21st even though their web site still says 17th.

\deleted, re-read the post and joke doesn't apply now...
So when can we start B-slappin' folks 'cuz I've seen a few I'd like to throw some baby powder on for. I would also love to see this implemented elsewhere on the web. especially the ones that seem unbiased mobile sites when they are clearly *phone users who have no idea what they are talking about.

+1
I agree, we need this, because there are a lot of stupid posts on xda-dev.
I need a slap now and then so please, this would be nice.
I do not know how this applies to this device but...
Ok who wants the first one

I saw the posting on the portal about switching off of GoDaddy, and first of all I want to say THANK YOU!
From all of us who don't have a website they can switch off of GoDaddy, we thank you. Putting your money in the pockets of companies you approve of is GREAT. I only wish I could do more to help.
The article did leave me wondering if you had your domain registered with them, or also used them as the host for all the content. After I pondered that, I wondered if there would be any outages due to the swap. I would certainly not complain if there were, I am just curious if there might be.
Again, thank you for doing this, I hope that large communities continue to pull their money from companies their members do not approve of.
I would have seen it on my RSS reader at some point, but thanks boardsportsrule for posting this and bringing it to my attention. I've only got 1 domain registered with them, but I've just cancelled the auto-renew.
More people need to be made aware of the small things they can do that can make a large difference, together.

It is merely for domain registration. The site is not hosted on godaddy, and the actual dns resolving is done by xda servers.

Gotcha, thanks for the information. I was secretly hoping it was fully hosted on GoDaddy. That'd be a blow to their wallet!

Website Update: We’re moving from GoDaddy

Website Update: We’re moving from GoDaddy
As many of you may be aware, we here at XDA-Developers occasionally stand in support of our members. All of you feel that you can submit things on the forums, knowing that the information is appreciated, used, and shared. We have members all over the world, and we know that the rules aren’t always the same when it comes to what you are “legally” allowed to do. I think I can speak for a great many by saying that while our unified voices are strong, there is nothing stronger than action. In keeping with that, we have decided to move XDA-Developers away from GoDaddy entirely.
This won’t surprise many. GoDaddy’s original support of the Stop Online Piracy Act, followed by their frankly cowardly flip-flop when that stance showed unpopular was enough for the decision to be clear. If SOPA clears, The very existence of a site like XDA would be at risk. For the record, SOPA would allow:
The US Government to selectively censor the web based on requests made by organizations who disapproved of content
Deny the owners of a site due process of law by blacklisting a DNS based on just a claim of copyright infringement
Force sites like XDA to aggressively monitor and filter all content
Hold site owners accountable for everything users post, with consequences like jail time and heavy fines
If SOPA passes, XDA would be forced to switch to a review system, where the forum moderators would have to inspect and approve every post on every subforum. The result would seriously decrease activity on XDA, and it wouldn’t be very long after that we’d likely be forced to close our doors. Obviously this is a “worst case” scenario, but it doesn’t change the fact that this could be a reality if SOPA passes.
Over the next few days, we will be moving all XDA assets away from GoDaddy. In the mean time, we encourage you to head over to the EFF, where they have created a page for how you can do your part to oppose this legislation that would allow the US to firewall content from their own citizens.

Hello, SONY.
We are Anonymous.
It has come to the attention of the Anonymous activist community that you have chosen to stand by the Stop Online Piracy Act
http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Nintendo-Sony-Stop-Supporting-SOPA-Anonymous-Threats-38195.html
I decided not to move my domains from godaddy. Reason being is that im letting those domains expire on them, so they take the cost of maintaining them. They aren't getting any more money from me.
It's not /just/ the elephant for me, it's their SOPA support, too. Thank you, xda.
When a member has been suspended, rejoining with another username is not allowed.
I'd like to ask how strictly this rule is enforced. Would the person always be suspended again without new cause?

There are reasons why they are suspended (ban) in the first place, and at the time of banning, Members are given a time frame for the banning period. So yes if they make another account while being on that ban, it is enforced and another banning would happen on the new account, no matter. And would have further action brought upon their first ban account.
Bottom-line, you get a banning, take it and see it out. If you disagree there is an appeal process link avail when the banned Member trys to log on, that would be the smart move if someone disagrees with the ban. And while waiting for the appeal, another smart move would be to wait it out...the appeal.
BTW you could of asked here with no issues, your question.

I have compelling evidence of this occurring , would you like the details? If so can I present it via pm so as not to mention user names in this thread?
