Hi guys,
Imported my M9+ from India, I'm currently using it in the UK on the O2 network, however I've yet to pick up any 4G signal, anyone shed any light into why this could be as the phone states it does support my carriers 4G signal band.
Cheers

According to HTC India, M9+ Only supports FDD: Bands 1,3,5,7,8,28. Whereas O2 LTE network in UK is using FDD band 20(800Mhz).
Hope this answered your queries.

I've checked some stuff, and I think that the radio firmware is inside the /system image and is not a separate partition.
Also I think they might use the same firmware as they are the same version in different full fimware zips system img part and radiversion.ini contains same version.
but the /system/build.prop differences might help with your issue.
Here's the Asia WWE build.prop part that might differ:

You will need to unlock the device and root it to do this in a root file manager and edit it somehow, or copy the build prop to the /sdcard/ copy it to PC, edit, copy back then:
copying file to sdcard on a rooted device from PC command line, :
Code:
adb shell
su
cp /system/build.prop /sdcard/build.prop
then reconnect the device and copy the build.prop to PC through mtp. There Edit file on PC then copying back to sdcard then from command line;
Code:
adb shell
su
mount -o remount,rw /system
cp /sdcard/build.prop /system/build.prop
chmod 644 /system/build.prop
reboot and see if it works. report back if you try this.
It's absolutely not sure that it helps, so don't void your warranty if you were not planning on unlock and root

Here we are, I post the european config files for 850 / 1900 / 2100 network

All you have to do is replace the folder in etc/system/
ATT
will those files work on ATT because of the 1900 and 850, or would I need the exact ATT version?
Yep , normaly they will work on ATT network, except for 2100 who is not present on your network. give a try.
If these files don't work , the best thing to do is reflash the original ATT rom or if you didn't change in your original rom,
and backup the frequency folder /etc/motorola/"bp_nvm_default" .
To do this you will need to room your device and pick up the folder with rootexplorer.
but normaly you won't have to do that because of the similar freQ
great!
ok, Ill try this with the newer de-blurred rom, because I can't seem to find the original att rom anywhere, hopefully this unbricks the phone!

Does anybody have config files for British retail Flipout?
I've flashed RUTHEM_U3_01.14.2(Debranded ROM for Central Europe) which seems to work great, but I have some issues with signal reception I didn't have with the original ROM. I assume the reason is in band configuration, according to and-developers.com, my original ROM used 900/2100 and the new one uses 850/2100. Standard for my region is GSM 900, DCS 1800, UMTS 2100.
Thank you in advance.
GSM 900/2100 Configuration Files
I managed to get these files myself, so if you have UK retail Flipout and you encountered signal reception issues after flashing RUTEM_U3_01.14.2, these configs might help.
question
I from argentina , bands here according to http://www.mobileworldlive.com/maps/network.php?cid=3206&cname=Argentina
are 850/1900, but when i see for example france i found http://www.mobileworldlive.com/maps/network.php?cid=123&cname=France
i found it has 900/1800/2100, can i install U3_01.14.2 with the 850/1900/2100 config file??
thanks for your answeres

hi,
I just installed RUTEM_U3_01.14.2 and would like to make it support 1900 network too with your conf files, however I can't find any /etc/system folder in my phone, only /System/etc but no bp_nvm folder inside
Where do I put your files ?
UPDATE:
found: /system/etc/motorola/bp_nvm_default/
Waiting for confirmation that this works with ATT...please let me know when someone finds out

I noticed the exact same thing, I have a European 900/2100 phone I'm using in Canada. My provider is 1900, so I never had 3G to begin with, but after flashing 1.14.2 my 2G reception weakened and EDGE turned to GPRS. I scared myself enough getting stuck at the Moto screen playing with basebands the first time, I think I'll wait a bit more before I go in for round two
suoko - Did copying these config files over improve 1900 signal? Did you have connectivity at all before, or was it just 2G, but after copying these new config files it is 3G?

Hi everyone !
I´m an Argentinian who worked in the US for a couple of months as a J1 student and bought a G2, thinking I would be able to root it and unlock it to use it at home no problemo ( it's supposed to be an unlockable quadband phone afterall ). Now after doing all the shannanigans to get my phone ready to work with a local sim card, I get no signal whatsoever. I followed this guide :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=855764
And confirmed I had done everything correctly by doing the following on adb :
# stop ril-daemon
# cat /dev/smd0 &
# echo -e 'ATE1\r' > /dev/smd0
0
#
# echo -e 'ATV1\r' > /dev/smd0
OK
# echo -e '[email protected]?\r' > /dev/smd0
@CID: 11111111
OK
echo -e '[email protected]?40\r' > /dev/smd0
# [email protected]?40
@SIMLOCK= 00
OK
#echo -e '[email protected]?AA\r' > /dev/smd0
[email protected]?AA
@secu_flag: 0
OK
I am running Cyanogenmod 6.1 and the phone does recognize my Simcard's carrier ( Claro AR ). Could you please tell me what I'm doing wrong ? Thank you !
Does the phone read you are on any network? If not than it wouldn't seem as if you did it correctly.
Good luck

Yes. Like I said, the phone recognizes my Simcard ( ClaroAR ) but it won't give signal. Thank you !
1. Check if your APN is set up in Settings > WirelessAnd Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Networks. If there is no APN set up you should find the settings online.
2. Check your Radio version. If you are using the stock radio and you haven't updated yet you should most definitely do that.

Hey thanks for the tip ! Stupid me I was using a SIMcard without service ! Everything is working perfectly now. Thank you everyone! You may close the thread if you so will.
I think that the frequencies that are in use by the carrier in your country are not supported by the G2.
For reference, the G2 supports:
- GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
- HSDPA 900 / 2100

Well according to several sites I've visited ( like this one ), Argentina uses 850 and 1900, so the G2 should work no problem. I have no idea why but some SIM cards ( of the same carrier I mentioned before, that is, Claro AR ) seem to work perfectly fine while others make my phone crash, not recognize the carrier and give no signal. In the latter SIM card, I get the following generic error at around every 5 seconds:
Sorry!
The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Any ideas ?
UPDATE: Could it be that the G2 has problems recognizing old SIM cards? The ones that fail are like 5 year old SIM cards (or older) and seem to have 32k of memory (or less), while the one that works has 64k. Has anybody else ever experienced this sort of problem ?
Thank you !
Note: This is for MIUI/EUI ROMs only. I will provide steps for Lineage/AOSP-based ROMs.
MIUI/EUI
I have built a flashable zip for both x720 and x727 devices that will help pick up a signal/maintain a signal with a simple build.prop edit. Basically, it's changing the value of persist.radio.multisim.config from NA to dsds and vice versa.
dsds = International (x720)
NA = North America (x727)
Lineage/AOSP-based ROMs
You will need a terminal emulator or work this with ADB.
For adb, follow the instructions below.
For x727 users, use this below.
Code:
adb shell setprop persist.radio.multisim.config NA
For x720 users, use this below.
NOTE: Lineage by default has it's radio configured for two SIMs. This is only if you need to revert a change to this.
Code:
adb shell setprop persist.radio.multisim.config dsds
For Terminal Emulator, just type su setprop persist.radio.multisim.config dsds or NA (you pick.)
Post here if you have any questions. I have received reports that my initial zip worked for users so I'm posting both x720 and x727 patches.

I believe this is ROM-specific. It stores this in /data, or local databases. I'd ask the device maintainer for the ROM you're running.
Thank you. For x727 users,I take off build.prop ''#''and change ‘’dsds‘’ to ‘’NA‘’, not work.
If not change ,add"persist.radio.multisim.config=NA", can work

Download QXDM/QPST then boot into Factory mode. Connect with QXDM/QPST and let us know what you come up with. I recommend you back up the NV memory first before making changes.
There is a thread around about how to boot into facory mode using ffutool...
Edit: Also do know that altering the QC EFS data can cause your phone to not boot or become unstable.

The european version, sell in UK, for example, costs almost 500€ and the canadian/USA version costs less then 100€
I live in Serbia, Serbia is not yet part of European union so European model is not available in Serbia. Even if it's available it is to expensive for me ☺ . Mine only question is for supported basebands, it's confusing because on Microsoft store spec are umts bands 2,4,5 and people here are claiming 1,2,4,5 . LTE bands are even more confusing. Is there anybody that used this Phone ( Microsoft GSM unlocked version ) outside US and Canada to share experience.
Phone has arrived and I am truly impressed. I don't have lte band but it's not deal breaker for me. 2G 3G and 4G working great and I am happy to rapport so if anybody has doubt it will work in Europe.
Did anybody find the way to unlock more lte bands. I read that it is not so easy like on Lumia phones. It is necessary to unlock bootloader and after that it is theoretically possible to change modem configuration.

LTE 1/3/7/8/20
I have a lot of questions
Do I need an unlocked bootloader? So I can use it QXDM/QPST?
bootloader unlock according to this manual https://forum.xda-developers.com/wi...700201&usg=ALkJrhgJFNd93wkrIGwJS8qJxAk0NTH1zg
where to download QXDM / QPST
then I would like to try somehow, but I do not know where to start
would anybody take it?
Thank you

If your referring to the Idol 4s, I wouldn't waste too much time. There have been attempts to do this on the open market model that have failed. If you need the phone to work in European countries you should buy the Idol 4 pro.
You can still attempt it if you want but if you don't know where to start then you're already asking for problems..
Just do searches in Google and on XDA if you need more resources. Note that you risk bricking your device or making it unstable too.

Personally I am not going to make a tutorial for something that does not work. However if you need resources you can find all of what you need by searching the XDA threads. If you succeed, then maybe you can make a tutorial for others to use
