[Q] How to undo an app update?

i see a lot of people are having trouble with the most recent update of Handcent SMS, myself included. basically what i am wondering is if i can somehow undo this update and rollback to a previous version. the current version is 4.6.1 and the one i would like to go back to is 4.5.

See if you can find that version on Google

You can't undo an app update, however you can uninstall the app, search for it's apk version on Google and install it. But then it won't be linked to the Play Store and you won't receive updates for it. For example, you can find the 4.5 apk here (link is after the overview section). The only reason I'm providing you a link to download is because it's a free app. Links to apks of paid apps must never be provided.

UFocus - where it is on GPE?

I can't find this option after taking a photo in HTC Gallery (I flashed a zip with working htc gallery and camera). Where is the option of adding ufocus effects?

it should be in the HTC gallery. If you have an updated HTC Gallery app it should be available once you try to edit a photo.

Unfortunately, when I try to edit a photo I can't find this option. Maybe it's not available for GPE?

do you see HTC's photo editor in your apps list (orange icon with fx as text in the icon)? It's part of the HTC Gallery apk similar to how originally Google plus also had Photos included.
What version of HTC gallery do you have installed?

Yes, I can see this app but I can't find the ufocus option. I have the 9.22.569629 version installed.

What rom are you running? Is it just stock GPE?

I just flashed a barebones rooted GPE ROM. And I have the UFOCUS option.

GPE Edition was running HTC gallery version 8.0 Which was just the underlying Photo Editor with the ufocus option. I sideloaded the latest 9.22 Update and I lost ufocus. I restored to my sense rom and I had ufocus so the HTC Gallery app is rejecting ufocus on GPE for some reason. I'm going to keep messing around and see what i can find but no promises.
If you simply sideloaded the gallery apk try deleting it and see what happens. There's a reason why GPE's don't receive certain HTC app updates.

Latest Google camera apk

Had anyone between able to get the latest Google camera apk to work with CM13? The one included in latest opengapps works perfectly but the update will not allow me to record video...

Hi, on the apkmirror i saw yesterday the google phone 4.0 already, but in cm 13 just 2.12.
how can i update all google apps in cm 13. the open gapps micro i installed.

All Google apps should update themselves via play store. As for Google phone, can you find it on play store?

the version seems to be 2.5.12_rc9
Anyway it's only for Nexus phone as all other phone use their own dialer and especially all CM rom (that's why you have to add the gapps afterward but that won't replace the dialer).
For other gapps, simply install the biggest gapps package, some google apps can only be updated, that mean if it's not pre installed, you can't install it (the purpose of the gapps). gapps micro lack a lot of google apps so use stock or super.
Edit : ok, simply use the google apps package called "stock"

it will replace the dialer, the dialer you want.

have google apps under cm, but dont update the play. if i download from play than will duplicated.
am i right, that just from recovery have to install again the latest open gapps, and will up to date the phone, calculator, all google apps.

gapps will be considered as system app, the version from google play will act as an update.

Sense Companion (HTC AI)

All,
The Sense Companion AI and an accompanying APK for an AI Live wallpaper are available on APK Mirror and I've installed them.
The problem is I can't seem to use them. They are installed but there is no options or icons to use them and the live wallpaper isn't selectable. I've tried installing them with package installer, copied to system/app and priv-app...I've matched their permissions as well but I can't seem to use them.
Does it only work with the U Ultra device maybe by particular device name or maybe a different version of Sense Home? Could anyone give their thoughts or perhaps results from trying it out?
Note: I am on Sprint Bad Boyz 3.0 N ROM and have enabled the Google assistant but it's supposed to integrate with the assistant. I'm at a loss.

Try downloading the latest version of the app from apkmirror, works for me on the HTC 10

Awesome...Haven't checked in a few days to e if there was an update...Thanks for the heads up
