G4 Lagging problems - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was wondering if other users can confirm.
The G4 is lagging when you wake it up and pressing the home button, when you are still in Facebook for instance
Also when screen is on and you are switching between large apps. it's lagging.
When you clear the apps....its much more snappier then. the difference is night and day.

Mine lags all the time. It's pretty disappointing. I also have a nexus 6, so much smoother then this phone. Also absolutely hate the lock screen. Can't wait till we get root and can run different Roms.

Yes it is indeed dissapointing... i did a complete reset. But still present.
Do you think it will be solved on a ROM? Dont you think the 808 processor is to "light"

The nexus has an 805. Figure the 808 should run better. Maybe just the LG skin making it lag. My daughters G3 has an 805 also rooted custom ROM. Doesn't lag as much as this phone.
---------- Post added at 05:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:48 PM ----------
Also notice touch sensitivity isn't so great. Its constantly missing taps here and there. Very annoying.

I have a nexus 6...almost every phone lags out of the box....but soon enough a very talented Dev will get one and it we be gone....that's what you get when your an early adopter

Mine misses taps every so often. I'm a little annoyed but I'm just gonna chalk it up to release software. I assume an update will come that will fix it. And once we have root and ROMs I'm sure I'll forget all about it. It's rough coming from a nexus 4 with a custom ROM that ran more perfectly than this one.

LG Tech Support informed me that there gonna be update that will kill all the lollipop issues, as well as fix some camera issues.

Yes also missing tabs on screen...
Camera issues? What is that? OIS?
I removed the sd card (because it is a Chinese Samsung card, think a clone) and it looks it's a bit better now... Still early concussion though.

Having owed a LG Optimus G, G2 and G3 I'm not surprised the G4 lags.

I don't get any stuttering or lag, but I use nova launcher. I only spent a few minutes with stock launcher. Stock launcher is slow and ugly.
Sent from my LG-H811

Now you say.... I use the Blinkfeed launcher and everything is much smoother now.
Even with sd card.

Mine is lag during heavy gaming only. Overal performance is smooth.

Have you tried turning off Games Optimizer under Battery and Power settings?
May make a difference, but not sure as I do not do a lot of gaming.

I've noticed some "missed taps" while playing Pinball Arcade. Balls just roll down the left flipper because it didn't pick up a tap. Interesting that some of you are having this problem too. Do you think this is serious enough to return it? I know the knock code has its own quirks, sometimes it works and sometimes you're a hair too slow.
I have also noticed the lag when going to the home screen from Facebook. Not a major issue, but a little disappointing.

I haven't really experienced any lag but I have experienced web pages taking forever to render and also like when I open speed test app it takes forever to find a server on my Home wifi.. Anyone notice this

The 805 has a more powerful GPU than the 808. The fact the 808 is a "higher number" than "805" doesn't really mean much, even in Antutu the 805 scores higher than the 808.. That's why there is lag or framerate issues in games on the G4. Very strange decision by LG to go with the 808.

Hoping some new software will smooth things out. Hate to say it but even my nexus 7 2013 has smoother performance navigating ui. I don't play games so I have no idea what it does in that area.

The G3 had terrible performance but it was generally underpowered for the QHD display. Here's hoping it is software optimization but you have to look at the 808 also.

I thought there is no any kind of lagg in the G4... And where does it exactly occurs?

I guess they wanted the 64Bit checkmark.
I dont see any other reason. Same goes for HTC.
I dont know why Qualcomm tought it was a good idea to release the 808 and the 810 when they compare it to there older 805. That was a really good chip. Its not 64 Bit but performance is on par with the 808 and 810 because they have thermal issues.
The 808 is not bad. Its fast enough. But if there was a option i would take the 805 in a heartbeart. Hell i would even pick the 801 over the 808 or 810.
Lets hope the 820 with the new architecture will be a lot better. (but that should not be to hard)

My Thoughts On Android 4.0.4 (GSM) GNexus

So as a person who has ranted on this board before on how ****ty 4.0.2 was, I just wanted to give my thoughts on 4.0.4
The main point I want to make is that this update is really really really good!
Good Points:
-WAY Smoother overall.
-Browser Is WAY smoother and much better at rendering pages properly (Big thing for me since I constantly use the browser throughout my day).
-I don't think chrome is even necessary at this point. They will probably just merge the two.
-Camera seems much better, although my not a huge photo guy.
-Battery life is incredible! On 4.0.2 I would barely make it till the end of my day (6pm-9pm). Right now I still have 68% left. My results aren't the norm since, I rarely use the phone for long periods of times. But the difference is definitely noticeable in my daily useage.
-Switching between 3G/4G seems much better now. Everything tends load quicker now. (Twitter, browser, pulse, etc.)
There are other good points, but these are what most matter to me.
Bad Points:
-Still a slight lag between pushing multitask button and the apps showing up. But it is much improved over 4.0.2
-Some slight lag when opening app-drawer (transition is not smooth, but not bad either) However in app-drawer everything is smooth
-Minor gripe that might only bother me, is that the calender widget now shows the colored squares that represent different calendars in the middle of the box for each event, I thought it looked much better when it was smaller and in the top left corner.
There might be others, but these are what really bug me.
So yea, I think this is great update and this how the nexus should have launched.
Btw I am curious about what SMP PREEMPT Mar 13 means under kernel version?
Thanks for taking the time to read this. =)
In the secret menu (you can access dialing *#*#4636#*#*, in the first section) It is selected 'WCDMA Preferrer' or GSM/CDMA Auto (PRL)?

Are you using a live wallpaper? I noticed this too until I switched to a static wallpaper.
My main favorite of the update is auto-brightness actually works now, and has nice transitions when increasing/decreasing the brightness.
No native mounting of USB OTG storage yet though

Thanks! You were right on, now the transition is really smooth after I switched to static wallpaper. Hopefully they can fix the problem with live wallpapers down the line and hopefully it is not a GPU limitation.
4.0.4 fixed the Wi-Fi drop out problem with some routers.
This's a really big improvement.

Not the same GPU.
It has been beefed up considerably.
Nexus S GPU runs slower and is fed by single channel ram.

Same, but different.
Galaxy Nexus has an overclocked version.....also its being fed by dual-channel memory now. It's on average 100% faster in GL benchmark off-screen tests. Though dual-core CPU plays a bit of a role but GL benchmark is mainly GPU. So yea on average you can expect the Galaxy Nexus SGX540 to be about 100% faster than the Nexus S SGX540 or about double the GPU performance.
Of course, it still pales in comparison to SGX544mp2 and Mali-400
But I doubt it's GPU limitation holding back live wallpapers.....more like live-wallpapers not being optimized. I'd prefer to run a black background or something anyway to save battery....live wallpapers were fun for a little bit, but got boring fast.
You can check it out on anandtech
Edit: ^^ beat to post by 2 minutes haha
Is our gpu really that much slower than mali though? I thought i saw one particular benchmark between the two like 8 Mflops vs 5 Mflops...seems same ballpark to me. Just a lot more pixels to push in the HD screen
Over in the G note forum a thread exists claiming their mali gpu is too weak for their screen and that they experience stutters and lag. Makes me not feel so bad having our current gpu.

Haha, really?
One thing that I am happy about is that on the lockscreen when you go to camera it goes straight into the camera rather than going to the homescreen AND THEN going into the camera app.
Why is panorama square? Is it just happening on my end? Started with 4.0.2 it's been square not rectangular shape.

It's slower....around 50% slower than the Mali-400. But it's definitely not too weak.
There are a lot of things to account for.......the TI OMAP has HD coding capabilities which help it display things to the 1280x720 screen the Galaxy Nexus has much much easier and faster while being less "performance hungry" it's a pro of the TI OMAP that very few people take into account....Exynos can hold its ground though. In general though, the TI OMAP is a bit faster CPU wise than the Exynos, they trade blow really.
Nothing we use our phones for are really even taxing the GPU/CPU. Yea a few games here and there, but the Nexus can run them all fine. Android in general isn't really "Great" for playing games compared to iOS at leeast because of fragmentation etc...but it's great to use it for daily use and it does it's job.
Maybe when we start doing some crazy video/photo editing on smartphones.....CPU/GPU will play a much larger role. The biggest leap for android was probably single to dual-core and now, things aren't as big of a leap in general user experience performance.
So what custom ROM is the OP running? As he mentioned smoother 3G/4G switching...

He's talking about the stock 4.0.4 OTA.
I think most people are getting a little overexcited about the "smoothness".
In my experience, 4.0.4 is not really "WAY SMOOTHER". I personally can't tell the difference and I pay a lot of attention to stuff like smooth transitions, scrolling, delays, multitasking, ...
The battery life is definitely improved though. I get a lot more "screen" and a lot less "android os".

Very nice phone with great specs and a super screen. We own 5 of these units (large family) and they all run very smooth. I would recomend it to anyone. This community on the other hand, well not so great. A lot of snooty peeps on here whining about noob this and misplaced that. If you check my signature you can see im no stranger to these forums and I can tell you I have never encountered so many mods and people closing threads and being rude. So if you can live with the community support until the phone becomes more popular and the forum gets straitened out then id say go for it. Just remember that there wont be much custom stuff for months to come. Thecubed sounds like he is coming here though so hope is alive.

I tend to read other forums and the people are down right rude to each other. and Lord please don't say that your s4 or HTC one have a build problem or some kind of possible defect those people will come down on you with the wrath of God. sometimes I do feel like people's comment go way to far but overall it's cool here maybe because there isn't much going on yet but let's hope this group of people can keep supporting each other.

One other thing you may want to consider is if your watching benchmark reviews dont pay attention to them atm. The antutu scores are about right but mostly everything else is way off. This phone benches very close to s4 with a larger screen. I think perhaps they were benching with power saver or something to get that low.
Benchmarks are a waste of time. My Samsung infuse is still blazing fast.

There are several pro vs s4 vs one vids that have posted quadrants of a little over 8k. Way low on and totally inaccurate. Ive benched all 5 of ours and they hit 12k each time. The gpu is a bit lower end than s4 speeds but as we know pro has a much larger screen thus slightly decreased scores.

The OGPro is extreamly responsive. Any native app opens very fast. As for 3rd party apps- I personally have no complaints but at times it might depend on the app...even thogh the possessor is one of the best out there and no app should cause a slow down.
On the other hand, I come from a SGSII and this phone is a killer...I love it so much!!!
I've never even thought that I will buy an LG but Sammy got me so tired of the look and feel of the UI and without tweeks I was not happy... This one though-I'll keep even without bootloader unlocked

Anyone else experience lag in about all 3rd party apps?

I have had my HTC One for about 5 days now. I love most everything about the phone. The one thing that is driving me nuts is the lag/stuttering/choppy scrolling in 3rd party apps. Apps like Plume, Facebook, and google+ are the worst. Facebook is almost unbearable. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there any way to fix it? I am seriously debating on taking this thing back. I hated the tiny screen on my iPhone but the scrolling was so smooth on that phone. Maybe I was just spoiled. But maybe I just got a bad device. Anyone else?
I have experienced no lag on this device. Bought it on launch day.
sent from my HTC one
Is it possible that one device would perform better than another? The sense launcher and all the sense apps scroll and transition really smoothly but as soon as I get in another app its lag city. I have noticed that the stock twitter app scrolls smoothly but if I use something like Plume or echofon I get lagging and stuttering. I am so frustrated.
So I ended up taking the phone back and getting it replaced by another one. Unfortunately it is exactly the same. I am really confused. I must pay way to much attention to the smoothness of my scrolling. So does no one experience any type of lag or choppiness in the facebook app or in twitter apps like Plume or seesmic? I'm just wondering if I am doing something that is causing the lag.

facebook scrolling is tough on any device...
It's loading all of that stuff in the background. Mine is 'choppy' as well but its not lagging. It responds immediately to any touch input, but the news feed hits a few snags when I try and go through it really fast.
Maybe what I am referring to lag isn't lag so much. Its just choppy like you described. It would seem that it is then more of a loading issue than a performance issue maybe. May just be something I need to get used to. I am struggling with the thought of going back to a 4 inch iphone screen.
What you are experiencing is normal. Call it lag, call it choppy, ect. Some people notice it like you and me, some people don't notice it. A lot of Apps for android have not been optimized to run on the new snapdragon 600 processors. Could be because they want the minimum requirements on these to be so low that Joe Blow with his LG Optimus DYNAMIC AT 500mhz can at least play Jetpack Joyride, while we HTC One owners see lag every three seconds. It you want everything to be buttery smooth, buy a Windows Phone 8. They optimize all there apps and have requirements met by each device. Same with Apple. But WP8 has no apps and Apple lacks customization. So I'll take my HTC One with a laggy Facebook and Jetpack Joyride and hope they optimized a new version of them for the new processors that are being released.
Perhaps everything else is so fast on the phone that you are perceiving "normal" as "laggy"
Sent from my Zune HD. Yeah, I still have one of those.
deep man.... deep....
Yeah, if you came from an iPhone which in terms of smoothness is pretty damn smooth in just about everything, then the little skips and stutters in Android will annoy you for a while.
It happened to me a couple years ago when I switched but it was much worse since the phones were so much slower. But the openness of Android and it's roms as well as the community made me stay. Now a days there really isn't to much of a difference on Android phones in terms of smoothness, or at least the gap has closed a bit.
You got to hand it to Apple though, they make their phones feel faster than they really are lol

think you should give bad reviews in the playstore for apps that are "laggy" for you.
Its the devs not optimizing code or trying to do too much at once that cause it.
Like the Menu button black bar. That has been around for what, 2 years, and its because devs refuse to update their apps to the newest android code.
Swype specifically is brutal for me ... sometimes upward of a two second lag for the keyboard to pop up.
I realize this is a big time first world problem.
Yeah I really think it does boil down to poorly written apps. I have tried almost every twitter app on the market and they all scroll kind if rough to me, but settled on the stock one for now. It actually scrolls pretty good. So it can be done. I wonder why that seems to be more of an exception than a rule.
Another thing I noticed it that it may have something to do with how android scrolls vs ios. Ios scrolls much slower but I think that allows for the choppiness from images loading to not seem as choppy. If i do a quick swipe up with my finger on android that thing cruises where in ios it scrolls a quarter of the way down. I think I'm going to just try and get used to it. I really like the phone overall.
I haven't experienced any lag whatsoever. The phone is pretty snappy. What is your memory usage average when you go into manage apps? Is something eating up a lot of memory?
The only other thing I could suggest is rebooting into stock recovery and wiping the cache.
Like others have said, it boils down to 3rd party app optimization. It's really unfortunate that a lot of apps don't take full advantage of quad core processors and I hope in the near future most of them do.
I don't have what I'd consider lag, but when scrolling in some 3rd party apps it is jittery.
I came from iPhone to HTC One as well and I was honestly expecting it to be just as smooth as the iPhone considering it has more power, but it, without a doubt, is not. The At&t One I had for work was jittery as well. I think it boils down to Apple makes the phone & software so it is more seemless where as one company makes android and another makes the phone and then modifies that software, so there's bound to be a tiny disconnect.
I still have my iPhone 5 but the jitter of the One is not enough for me to go back to a 4 inch screen everyday. When Apple decides to make a 4.7 - 5 inch iPhone, then we'll talk.

You can fix this by changing "long press home" to a menu button replacement.
Specifically go to settings hit "display gestures and buttons" and hit "home" you want the 2nd option "swipe up for Google now, press and hold for menu"

of course you can. That is called a work around because some devs are lazy and don't update their apps to the latest android framework...

[Q] Why is the performance so poor?

I don't understand how a phone so powerful can run so poorly. Often times it may take up to 5 seconds to respond to input and is extremely laggy. My friends iPhone 4 is more responsive and it is kind of embarrassing when I am always talking so highly of Android devices, and a 2 year device with incredibly inferior specs is outperforming a brand new high-end phone. There also seems to be an enormous lack of development. I am really starting to regret purchasing this phone.

I agree that G3 performance is bad. Its because the system in chip had to draw all the extra pixels of a QHD display. It causes lag and slowness everywhere.
The QHD display needs a more powerful system on chip.

Its got nothing to do with the QHD screen. The processor is more than capable of rendering QHD in 2D, even 4K wouldnt be a problem.
The problem is LG have very badly optimised the software. The latest revisions are much much faster, Im using v10J and everything is instant. We went through the same problems with the G2.

Have to disagree,I see no improvement with 10j. Its very obvious the 801 is maxed out.

Just curious because I genuinely want to know. What do you base this on? Have you used some software that monitors the CPU usage and seen it constantly run at 100%?

I've seen it happen on old phones of mine that tried to render 1080 but struggled. You get the stutter effect and frame rate dropping because it can't draw it quickly enough. This is a good comparison video too of the more powerful 805 chip Vs the 801 chip

Clearly thats not the case since I have absolutely zero lag. Its a fact that the GPU isnt stressed in 2D by the QHD, it doesnt even throttle past 330mhz. The 801 is rated for 4K, and only then limited by bandwidth rather than raw power.
Its all about the LG software. It will improve.
I have zero lag with my processor downclocked to 1.5ghz and 200 mhz GPU
So all this QHD resolution causing lag is complete BS and trolling.

This chip is not maxed out at all, let's not spread false information please. LG needs to optimize the software for the phone to run correctly. I have enabled 60fps on my phone, and the thing flies now. No lag while scrolling, or while gamingto speak of. The chip has no problems with the resolution.
The thing with Iphone is the way it's set up, Android has more things working in the background eating up ram/etc, that's why optimization is so important. Put an 801 chip into the Iphone, which has MUCH less things running in the background by default, and I guarantee you that the phone will run much faster than with the A7 chip.
Also, rogue apps that are not optimized correctly can also cause serious lag. I recently had the HTC One M8, which ran beautifully, until I downloaded a rogue app that was eating up ram when not in use, and my phone was lagging like crazy.
So it's not really fair to compare android with ios's speed, because all Iphone devices work the same way, and use the same chip. While on Android, there are many factors and apps that can interfere with the OS. Any true Android fan should know how these things work..you can customize the phone to your liking, but you also have to deal with rogue apps and ram issues sometimes.
Have to agree that the 801 struggles with 2k, use a 1080 801 flagship and you'll see the difference. The frame rate on some games is poor in the G3 compared to 1080 801 phones and that's nothing to do with software. The QHD is also power hungry and runs hotter and thermal throttles the CPU more.

Exactly, this chip is more then capable of running the high resolution on the G3. LG should have taken the time to calibrate the software to run better, but the newer updates going around are based off of the info here from XDA users. The default battery saving technique to dynamically adjust the fps/etc only saves a little more batter, but is not worth the tradeoff of a stuttering device. LG should have put in a bigger battery and increased the phone size a little instead of setting up the phone the way it currently is. People are too obsessed with thin phones now-a-days, I prefer a little bulk with MUCH better battery life!
---------- Post added at 07:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:43 PM ----------
Also, just to add on to the info that the 801 cannot handle the 2K resolution, which is false..I had the HTC One M8, which oddly stuttered like crazy when playing Asphalt 8, and a few other highly graphical games, but ran smooth as butter when scrolling through apps/etc. However, my G3 has Zero problems now running the same games. So clearly, it's more at play than just the 801. It's more about optimization/etc.
I have pretty much zero lag, the only stutter I see is when pulling down the notification bar, but that happens literally every time I do it. Anybody experiencing the same? Rooted 32gb D855 10g.

I had that happen to me every now and then, until I switched from Dalvik to ART. Now I have zero lag when using the notification bar. Try that and see if it helps.

To give you an idea of the advances LG will likely make I recently flashed my G2 back to the original ROM. It was terrible, laggy, jittery, horrible camera lag. I then updated to the latest. Smooth, lag free, faster camera, totally reliable. This will happen for the G3 to.
QHD has nothing to do with the issues at all. Its quite clear LG released this phone in almost a panic about heat and battery life, with so many unnecessary measures taken. I disabled quite a lot of them and its smooth and the battery lasts longer than any phone ive had before, even my G2. I wonder if half the screens issues are due to LG undervolting it. Most mods for other devices undervolt the screen to save power, I want to try the opposite.

Oh yes, it's not compatible as of now. ART really does make a difference in how the phone works though. It's actually the first time that I have seen how beneficial ART is. Question, do you have any widgets in your notification shade/etc? You could also try using the Nova launcher and see if that helps.

Hello there
Follow the instructions below. Also, scroll down to Dynamic LCD refresh On/Off, and select disable. Then under Fixed FPS test, select 60FPS, reboot and enjoy!

So what about non d855 users. I have the T mobile variant and it seems we are waiting on Android L for an update as there hasnt been any incremental performance updates. I agree the software is not all it could be.
I use Nova launcher and don't see any lag.
When I was using the stock launcher, I thought that I would see some delay here and there, But I wasn't really sure if it was the phone or me believing what other people were writing.
But I did use the settings in the linked post and it seemed to make the stock launcher much faster. I do not know if it will affect your issue.

G4 unusable for gaming? Extremely low FPS with MM

Guys I need help with my G4, situation with gaming is kinda unbelievable... I'm running android 6.0, and most games can't hit over 20fps mark, practically gaming it's more of frustration than fun
Examples:
Dragons rise of berk - 15-16 fps
Real Racing 3 - 20-21 fps
Jurasic World - 18-19fps
FF lagacy - 25-26fps
And things gets more interesting, I have also G2 that makes on average 30% better fps on the same games. Did an Antutu test, G4 is way better than the same G2, huge difference in 3d test.
Checked the net for the issue and found on this site folks that have it but hadn't have in with the Lollipop before that. Please give me some pointers for a future actions, is it wise to try go back to 5.1 or maybe wait for the next update? Or anything at all, I'm open to all ideas as long as they don't cost me my warranty (these LGs are not the most durable devices out there...).
Thanks!
I swear its d3vice to d3vice. I use ps1 and other emulators all the time ive never really watched the frame rates but never noticed lag. I got a gear vr ive been doin a bunch of games on it and it runs killer.
But im on lolipop heavly debloated bare core system.
Stock rom is riddled with throttling while gaming, I did notice games like hearthstone and minecraft getting unplayable after 20 minutes or so, fix is the way of going custom kernel and disabling stock thermal settings, soc on our phone doesn't heat up as much as 810 anyways (also 1440p much more demanding than 1080p take that in to consideration as well)
Of course i tested the heating issue, when the phone is cold is just a bit better, but the same thing basically. For example it would be 1fps difference cold-hot. Also interestingly on Antutu my device scores more than the same G4 with the same soft. Just watching the 3d garden part the phone G4 kills G2, many times smother, but when you try real game is the other way around.
In the other threads people that can't play also score normal on benchmarks.
My phone came with 6.0 stock, so can anyone made the upgrade from Lollipop share their experience? Also if anyone with MM can actually play some on the games I mentioned above as an example?

wich kernel you use on G2? i wish there was a dorimanx for G4..
3.10.84 and the soft is V20d-EUR-XX. I'm definitely not a gamer, but can't accept having a G4 that performs like a 80$ lenovo neither... Honestly I was thinking of switching to Samsung, but 20min of reading and I was left with the feeling that this action would just gain me changing one problem with another ones. At lest here I have only that FPS issue...and besides it I like the phone and would strongly prefer not to switch with another brand.
The most irritating thing is that the phone has no signs of hardware problems. On the Gamebench site there's plenty of test done with the stock 5.1 rom - https://www.gamebench.net/en/node/117
As you can see the same games do on average 30fps, witch is as it should be.
Just found a thread discussing the same issue on Galaxy S6....thats it with the brand switching idea...
I don't believe I'll ever have a phone that has everything working in order...

The g3 was a good one
G2 was even better considering the time it first came up, it was also faster than G3. Anyways G4 is better than both, i'm pretty sure this is just a software issue.
Disabling LOGD needs root, right?

Rolled back to lollipop.....now Antutu scores are higher, but gaming is better just a bit. Do you other G4 owners play any games at all? Can't believe no one complains?
Is a hardware problem possible if the phone runs all benchmark and stress tests perfectly?

There is a setting that you can toggle in Settings > Battery & power saving, and then turn off Game optimizer. Don't know if it would help, but it's worth a shot.

Like i said i play ps1 and loads of games on mine. never notice any lag. I just modded my gear vr to work on my g4 and all the vr apps and games run surprisingly very well. Ive never been one to do benchmarks. Look and feel is more important than numbers to me. Ive seen phones get low benchmarks and game really well.
Im on lolipop by the way
Tested another thing, picked 2 games from the gamebench site that have been tested on g4... So Modern Combat 5 - 29fps Boom Beach - 58fps, both run super fluid. And the scores are exactly like in their test.
Having said that Real Racing continues to be a lot worse but they do 32fps on average. How is this possible? Look like the problem is concentrated on some games, not logical to me? How would it be possible every device to chose individually what games it likes??

Try Sim City BuildIt out on your phone and follow the tutorial right through to Dans City and see how that runs, its pretty poor on mine.
Will try it, even better its a strategy one. Btw, phonearena had complains about underperforming gpu on this phone. Was playing in 1080p trick possible without root?

Dont know about without root but that might be it. i forgot i had my resolution dropped to 1080 for a long time now.
Ive been runnin all my vr 3d intensives in 1080. And like i said ive never noticed lags.

When I play 3d scenes in Antutu they are 1080p, and G4 plays them a LOT smother than G2. So I guess that might solve the problem, 2k is absolutely unnecessary for gaming purposes on this small screen.
Also I'm not sure that the acctual intensity of the game is the main reason, thing looks more like game to game or optimizing issues.
