[Q] Help getting back to stock for repair.. - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am trying to bring my HTC One M8 back to stock for repair.
It is a Vodafone UK handset but I am only able to find a stock RUU. Will this be an issue?
Lastly, I have **** Software Status: Official **** displayed on the first line of the bootloader, is this normal / will this flag up that the software has been modified.
Please advise.
Thank you.

T mobile settings in about phone??

Hey i bricked my T-Mobile desire last night whilst flashing a radio update.
Im gonna send it back for repair or replacement so i flashed the generic T-Mobile rom from the unroot guide on modaco.
In about phone - software information it says
Firmware version - 2.1-update1
Baseband Version - 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2
Kernal version - 2.6.29-0cb9f166 [email protected] #1
Build number - 1.21.405.2 cl174215 release keys
Software number - 1.21.405.2
Can anyone confirm these with a stock, unrooted T-mobile desire please as i don't want them to know i rooted
Did people returning their devices contact HTC directly, the carrier (T Mobile) or their insurance provider?
Thanks
My UK T-Mobile stock desire has a different baseband version ,kernal version, build number and software number.
i think you need to flash:
RUU_Bravo_TMO_UK_1.15.110.11_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_122755.exe
[edit] sorry, i think it's the same rom you already tried flashing.
not sure why it hasn't worked though...
did the flash run ok, with no errors?
Ok, i just tried again and the RUU said
"ERROR [140]:BOOTLOADER VERSION ERROR"
I think its because HBOOT is 0.8 and not 0.75 anymore. I dont know what changed it. Iv only flashed a modaco rom, the standard HTC rom by accident, the radio update and the T mobile one.
Is there any way to change back and flash the TMO rom?
Thanks
The stock HTC ROM changed the bootloader to 0.80 - it can't be rolled back

Click to collapse
Standard HTC rom is where you went wrong, 1.21.405.2 WWE rom would have updated the bootloader to 0.80 and there's no way to downgrade the HBOOT yet if ever.
Thanks, If i send it to HTC with the stock rom on, would it still void the warranty as its official?
Thanks again
I would've thought not but they'd be able to check the S/N against operators and might find out it's flashed
Thanks for the quick reply.
Iv just spoken to HTC and they're going to take it in for repair, has anyone had any success with HTC repairing a rooted phone?
Thanks
It's not rooted so there shouldn't be an issue - only if they suss it was a T-Mobile one in the first place!
Worst that happens is they send it back saying warranty void
Hope you are successful.
Can someone tell me what radio update refers to?

[Q] Return to Stock T-Mo [UK] ROM & Radio

Can anyone recommend a download link or other source for the above ROM and Radio please?
I need to return my phone to stock for HTC to examine it and check my faulty GPS chip (then hopefully provide me with a fully-functioning handset!).
Thanks for any help.
here you go ... http://www.iloveabath.co.uk/index.php?dir=RUUs/
Download the TMO version
Superb, thanks buddy.
anytime
Hey,
Did it work? Can you please share your experience? I am interesting in running custom ROMs, however need to ensure that I can return the phone back to the state that I got it in. I have a branded, but unlocked, T-Mobile UK DHD.
Cheers,
smacky_t
It seems to have worked successfully (the handset is now with HTC's designated repair centre).
It was a pretty straightforward process:
- Download the Stock ROM from the above link
- Flash it
- Then follow this guide to return to S-ON.
HTH?
Hey mate, I bought my Desire HD from the Carphone Warehouse back in December, running the stock Froyo Rom. I'm on T-Mobile too. Do you still have a copy of the RUU you downloaded? I can't seem to find any and the link seems to be dead.

[Q] Unbricking handset with 2.26.61.1

Hello,
Is it possible that some one could help me with the following issue;
I bricked a Orange Wildfire S 2.26.61.1 and did not have a back up. All available RUU's were of earlier versions and could not bring the handset back to life. I have got hold of another handset with the stock rom 2.26.61.1 so it is possible to take a back up of this and use it to flash the other handset back to life? And if so how do I do it?
All advice gratefully accepted.
Many thanks

[Q] Want to return to stock on my HTC One M8

Hi. I have a HTC One M8 that is rooted and has a custom rom. It's on Android 4.4.4 I need to return to stock as I need to send my phone for repair. No, I did not root my phone myself my friend done it for me. I've watched videos on how to return to stock on my phone but I just can't do it! Can someone please guide and help me through this!
Look for a back to stock RUU for your carrier. That should do it for you.
I don't know your CID but look over this thread you should be able to find an RUU that will work for you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376

Need Help reverting my device to stock (S-ON method)...

Hi
I am more than certain this has been asked before but after searching I can only locate S-OFF methods... Basicly my M9 is rooted, unlocked bootloader and running custom ROM Viper 3.5.0 and since I cannot receive M OTA i need to revert everything to factory condition... I spoke to HTC to confirm my device's carrier - Orange Poland and unfortunately I cannot locate anything for that particular carrier... Im not sure if the Unlocked/Developer option applies to me ? (from HTC Site...) Basically what do I need to do if I wish to receive the upcoming M OTA (without the need for S-OFF?) . Help would be greatly appreciated...
anyone???
