I'm looking at a new phone and am thinking about the Galaxy S4 mini. I need a good processor and RAM but hate huge phones. Will this work on T-Mobile prepaid 4g? Anyone know for sure?

Hi all, i travelling to hawaii soon, and was thinking about purchasing a galaxy s3 while i am there, will i have any problems using this phone once i return to australia, i also noticed there are many variants of the s3, is there any i should avoid, or are they all the same but with different bundled software ?
i am keen to flash this device with custom roms in the future, so bundled software is not a huge concern of mine
Its either at&t or T-Mobile versions of galaxy s3 will work in your country but remember it will be sim locked...
Edit: might vary in Hawaii not sure if T-Mobile has network there...

They definitely have network there. My brother just moved there, and there are a few members on here also.

Yes there's network here. Lol.

Wouldn't i be able to use the application 'GalaxSim Unlock' to unlock the sim, or would the S3's in hawaii likely be the Us qualcomm based GS3's ?
Why dont you just get one in Australia? Seems like a lot of trouble to go through? When you in Hawaii you just have to put a prepaid sim in it for it to work. Then when you go back home you have a phone that works well for your country without the hassle of doing something special to the phone to make it work for you. Plus you wouldn't be able to access the 4G networks of the Australian carriers with US variants.

Because they are much cheaper to buy, also, i do not consider unlocking/flashing etc to be a difficult task, i actually enjoy it, call it a pastime that i enjoy if you wish.
Also, only the 4G version of the S3 is going to work on a 4G network, so if i dont buy the 4G version, its not going to be a problem anywhere in the world
Fair enough.

What? All versions of the S3 are "4G". The one in hawaii will be Qualcomm based. If you buy an ATT one in Hawaii the LTE will not work in Australia

Mmmm! if i buy an Atrix HD, what u think about ?
Any phone that works on att or t mobile should work for u. Not 100% sure. But why don't u just order a nexus 4.

AT&T and tmobile phones will need to be SIM unlocked to be used on another gsm network.
I have a Samsung galaxy s4 GT-i9500 and I have extra batteries that are for the Samsung Galaxy s4 Gt-I9500.
I am thinking of getting another Samsung Galaxy s4 made by mobilicity.
Im am planning to buy one from wind.
Does the same battery work for all the models of Samsung Galaxy S4?
Gt-i9500, Gt-i9505, wind model etc.
Sent from my GT-I9500 using xda app-developers app
Yes.
Anything like that...battety...sd card...battery cover....any case...etc...any removable part like that will work for any S4.
All the variants have the exact same size and shape.
But on websites you typically only see parts for the 9505 advertised. Fear not...they will work.
Now software...that is a different story.

Thanks for the help.
Does that logic apply to the s2 as well?

That does not apply to the SII as the models of the SII are much more widely varied. If you are looking for a battery for an SII it is best to search by part number or the phone's fancy name like "Epic 4G Touch" or "SPH-D710" for the Sprint variety.

Of they are the same variant then yes. There wasn't really a single "normal" SII. There was the international version... With the physical home button, but then there was even a new version of the international version that looked the same but had different specs. I don't even think the batteries from those were interchangeable.
Please remember to use the thanks button if I, or anyone, has been helpful

Not all. But most. It has the same physical dimensions, but not all the same internal hardware.
You can't interchange roms or radios, but you can do most of the same tweaks to TouchWiz

ok. but..

No. While the hardware is a little different, their performance is comparable.

Can the battery from a s4 i9500 work in a s4 mini i9192
I'm looking to get my hands on a Note for note taking. I would prefer an AT&T LTE compatible version - not sure if the international LTE variant supports AT&T's LTE frequencies. Has anyone seen a place - besides ebay - to buy these.. looking to spend about $200-$245
You could try Swappa.com but I don't think you will find one that cheap. I bought a refurb at Amazon for $290 but it's WiFi only.

If you're looking for a new Note 8, pricewise, I think you're dreaming. You are correct, the international version doesn't support LTE in the US. But this is offset by the built in phone app, and the ability to tether, IMHO.

I'm new to the forums here and I don't know if this has been asked already. I have a galaxy s4 mini from US cellular. I was wondering if I could use it on T-mobile or verizon? Like could I root it and it will work or is there something else I have to do
Anyone know?
