I don't see how this has anything to do with this moto 360? The first line says 'Our new charging dock for*Apple*Watch' so why even post this?
There is a chance it could work with our devices since both are QI compliant, I suppose. I won't be spending $30 to find out, but if someone confirms it, I might...

because IT WORKS with my Moto-360 for charging it!, Duh?.... I received mine today.. it's very nice quality and my Galaxy Note 4 fits nicely in front, so far it shows charging of my Moto 360. I needed something that looked nicer than that clunky Motorola charger and the Griffin is reasonably priced against the Motorola charger with a plus in a phone stand too... I have only used it for a couple hours in charging.. will post later in the week how it works over a period of time..
Reminder.... Qi Charger puck
Just a reminder... You do need to have the Apple Watch Qi Charger puck... I happen to have one, so you may need to pick one up from Amazon $44 or there is a Chinese company that sells a cheaper version for $12.00...
I'm modifying my Griffin Watch stand with a fan in the Center to cool the Moto 360 watch when it's charging, I already did the mod to the original Motorola charger cradle by putting a fan under it, it made for a better charging setup of a cooler Moto 360...

The battery isn't removable, so it isn't really possible.
I have a MotoG, and upon taking off the back cover, I can't seem to locate the pins normally used with Qi pads like on the Samsungs. So, I may be completely wrong, but as of right now, I think the G will not support wireless charging.
I suppose those could work http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Q...l_Phone_PDA_Chargers&var=&hash=item3cd871bdf7 but they are a bit besides the point if microusb then cannot be used...
I've ordered one of those Universal Pads and some other stuff from DealExtreme a week ago. I will report back with pictures when it arrives here. The parcel however is still in China and I don't think it will clear german customs until after christmas.

I'm very interested to hear if this works. I haven't been able to find any reviews for those Qi charging coil inserts, either. Have you heard of it working on the Moto G or other phones?
Motorola would have advertised it as having wireless charging if they put it in. This was one of the features they left out to cut the price

I'm asking about those aftermarket coil inserts that supposedly provide Qi charging by plugging into the micro USB and going between the battery cover or a case.

I think you will find the clearances to be too too tight for that. I think the best bet will be if someone integrates it into a shell or case.
Would anyone happen to know where the cheapest, compatible wireless charger is sold for the G3?
Bro if you buy cheap you can't get mad when it don't work good. It is never worth it to go cheap
I don't know if I would say that. Some people got a cheap wireless charger from AT&T that was fine but out of stock now. I'm not talking about the back cover I know AT&T's is different. I bought a LG Vest case from Korea for 20 and it was 60 in the US. Same exact case. It's kind of hit or miss though. I want to get wireless charger but only if I can find a deal on a good one. I think buying cheap batteries is different though. I want a slim case but I don't know what ones work with a wireless charger. I guess maybe I'll just get a bumper or something.
Depending on the item, I'll buy cheap such as chargers or cables. They've worked for me for X amount of years. If it breaks, I'll buy a new one and it will still be cheaper than buying a quality one that costs 4 times as much.
I just ordered this http://www.ebay.com/itm/22147408925...eName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
I see a lot of people and on YouTube using this. The Qi chargers are nothing special. Its all plastic and the internal is just a chip, with wire and coil for charging. You can even buy the internals on eBay and put it in to your own case if you're that creative.
I have Nexus Wireless Charging orb I can sell you
Qi-compatible wireless adapter with NFC
My adapter finally arrived! I used a sharp knife and sliced out the old one after I tested this one.
Chinese website that only took 2 weeks to deliver!
It works with my Nokia Wireless charger just fine. However, with the standard white, flat, Qi-compatible charger I got on Amazon for $8, it says "charging slowly" and to plug in to the usb port to charge faster.
I'm just glad I don't have to buy the LG-branded wireless charging station for $50+!

My Nokia DT910 charges fine with no slow charge warning, but randomly disconnects and then immediately starts charging again. Is it doing that for you?

I got this one. It was only $9. when I ordered it, but its 14 now, still pretty cheap.

I got the LG puck from from Verizon last year when they had a promo. Works fine on my Nexus 7 but on the G3 I get the slow charge message
So I realize that the 360 is compatible with most qi chargers, which is pretty freaking cool. But, I put a pebble steel band on my 360 so laying it flat to charge isn't a option. It charges great in the original dock, so that's not a issue. I want to keep one at the house but have a practical solution when I'm on the road. Has anyone found where I can buy a second OEM dock. Or, anyone have a Qi aftermarket solution ( maybe something 3d printed or DIY ) that can be easily thrown into a travel bag? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated - thanks in advance.

I haven't tried as of yet. I am getting my metal strap on Monday, but I was thinking of possibly using my old Nexus Orb charger to see if I can loop it over the back and have it charge. Going to try it and report back if it works or not.

C'mon Moto... just let us order the charger on its own already!
Hi guys!
I'm new to XDA (at least as an active user) and this is my first post. As probably most of you I like my Moto 360 not only, but also because it just looks elegant. And so I thought I need an appropriate docking station for it (dock, holder, stand - call it whatever you like) So I made my first "prototype" today and this is what it looks like (pictures attatched).
Right now it is just a modern holder made out of leather, wood and some metal parts.
In the next step I want to include wireless charging (already ordered electronic parts) and see if I can charge my moto 360 on it. What do you guys think? I manly did it because there simply is no other holder than the one from Motorola on the market right now.
Thanks for reading and have a great day!
That looks great! What got you thinking to make your own holder?

Thank you!
Well I mean the one from Motorola is also not bad, I like it! But I think this holder matches better to my phone (and its wristband). Also I have a lot of free time recently so I wanted to do something
Pretty cool! I'd been thinking about doing something like that myself, also out of wood and/or leather, because I love both materials.
In any case, it would be really nice if the Moto 360 was completely compatible with all Qi chargers, so that it would be an easy job to gut an existing Qi charger and stuff it into your own enclosure. The only problem is, I've found that the Moto 360 doesn't charge very well using any of the other chargers I've tried. It appears that the stock Motorola dock has some type of overheat protection and can more or less continuously charge the Moto 360 to full. With all the other Qi chargers I've tried, the Moto 360 seems to overheat and stop charging until it cools down. The result is that the watch will tend to stop charging, then continue charging, then stop, then start, and it takes much longer to charge to full. Sometimes, the charging doesn't continue until you take the watch off the charger and let it cool for a bit, even though the watch may show the charging screen.
Your best bet for now is to gut a standard Motorola dock, unless a third-party has managed to make a decent replacement. Good luck!
EDIT: Might be worth checking out this thread to see what Qi chargers would be a good idea to harvest for parts for your project: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-360/accessories/compatible-qi-chargers-t2874675
new charger
Look for "moto 360 charger" on etsy.com
What do you think of this?
The one in the zebrawood? Looks nice, but again, I'd be concerned about the actual charging components, unless they used parts from the Motorola dock.
Yes, the one with Zebra wood (I'm new here so they don't let me post external links yet).
I built this charger. I used a QI modul I found on the internet (not a finished product, just the electronic part) and a nice piece of wood from the wood store. As an adapter I first tried the one that comes with the original charger but that one seemed to be too weak so I used the one my Moto X came with. And I have to say it works pretty good. Since that I haven't had any issues yet. The watch charges in about 90 minutes from 0 to 100%. Yes, it does get warm, but not hot. And I think it also gets warm with the motorola charger.
If you have any other questions, let me know!
And thanks for the link to the other thread, I will post my charger there as well. :good:
Found this on a chinese website. If only they would sell it across the whole world.

According to Google that translates to $11.11 US which sounds like a great price to me.

I want to buy a cheap cradle which can charging the moto. Please recommend.
looks silly since it appears that you need to take off the band so the thing can get to the pins. if you were able to leave on the band, then that might be cool.
Look on Amazon for Itian Qi Wireless Charging Cradle for Motorola Mobility Moto360 Smartwatch
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VNZAW6I?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01
I paid $15.50 and looks and looks and works like Moto OEM cradle. It does not include a charger but I use one of my Samsung chargers ... I really didn't need another. It looks exactly like the Moto; the only difference I could see is it shows a red light when charging and a blue light when charged or idle where the Moto has a white light. Also, the usb plug seemed to fit better than the Moto. So far, no problems. I'm not sure I'd trust it enough to leave the watch on it after charging but I don't trust many chargers to do that either.

A can attest that the above mentioned charger is perfect, if not better than the oem. I've already bought two of these after the oem USB port came loose thus unusable after ONE week of using. Didn't want to bother with sending it back.
Edit: To address the last sentence of the quoted post, I usually leave it charging overnight and I've never had one issue.
What the OP posted on Taobao is not a charging cradle. It's a device to flash the ticwear OS, whatever that is.
have anybody bought this one ? seems cool, but very difficult to deal with the web site since its powered with chinese.
