Hello everyone,
first of all I tried to find this tread in the G3 subforum but I couldn't find it.
If it already exist please send me the link of the topic and delete mine.
I have a problem with my D855 32GB version (rooted,stock rom,latest lollipop installed).
When I'm not using my phone it happened that the phone shuts down by itself (sometimes it reboots but mostly of the time it turns off) and the only solution is to remove the battery, put it back in and to power on the phone.
Any solutions?

Trying wiping or factory resetting your phone and see if the problem still occurs
If it does it might be a hardware issue thats causing the constant reboots

A lot to take in, but, one consensus seems to be the Battery.....
If you are still under warranty you should contact LG, if it is not the battery and you have tried different ROM's and still have the same issue then i am pretty sure it is a faulty device.
Send it in for repair.
Here is the link. https://www.lg.com/us/support/repair-service/schedule-repair

Hi.
If you have tried the Hard Reset and it did not work then I have to ask you if you are still under shop or LG Warranty. If you are take it back.
It may seem obvious to you my reply but it is so. If you can return it you do not want a problematic phone right?
However:
If you do not have the Warranty any longer then your best and perhaps only solution is to flash with a computer <preferably windows 7> a KDZ or TOT+DLL file. This will flash the LG stock firmware back into your phone and eliminate this issue and make it like when it first came out of LG factory.
Be careful to READ and understand very well this process. YOU MUST choose the correct KDZ or TOT file for your model. If you flash the wrong file for your model...goodbye LG G3! Do not be in a hurry until you completely understand the whole process.
Below is a link to an XDA thread where you will find LOTS of help in doing this. The OP of this thread @hyelton is a really nice and helpful guy and has helped thousands of people. Just head over to the thread, first READ the OP and then post your questions and you will get help.
If you have no Warranty do this. Be patient and YOU WILL get your beloved G3 fixed.

Good luck.

So my mom's G3 started acting weird a couple weeks ago, it would randomly shut down but could be started without big problems. However yesterday it shut down and when we tried to restart it it became stuck in a bootloop. I've thought about hard reset but my mom has some pretty important stuff on it and prefers not to lose it. I've also thought about kdz flash but since I'm not sure about her phone's current firmware (i'm sure that it's lollipop, but I don't know which exact version) I can't do anything.
How can I solve this, or, at least, know which exact firmware is the phone running ?
By the way it's a 100% stock phone, no root no recovery, nothing.
Thanks in advance.

Many people has such problem mine one able to make it boot again by plugging in to a charger, still it will still reboot frequently, my friend fixed his by replacing motherboard while some others said it is related to battery
I've tried plugging in the charger but never thought of the battery.
I'll try switching batteries, thanks for advice.
UPDATE: I could get the phone on again by switching batteries, thanks a lot !
If I flash a new firmware can the old battery work again ?

I.don't think it is related to Rom as I am using stock MM
We're going to buy a new battery, hope this fixes it for good.
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
I've searched over xda and google before but haven't found anything relevant so I've decided to post my own problem.
My G4 freezed unexpectedly while listening to music, I had to remove the battery to put it off.
But it never passed the LG logo again.
So, i've been stucked on this LG logo, looking for an answer and found about this hardware issue but I'm not certain to get the same error.
It's not a bootloop (even if I sometimes got stuck in bootloop while trying everything to revive my phone), I have been able to get to the download mode and TWRP (which I don't have anymore because I went back to stock using LGUP and LG bridge), even though I hardly get to the download mode now (I sometimes manage to do it though). I've also managed to save my data when I've managed to enter TWRP (plug in, remove battery, push volume down + power while putting battery in) which, people with hardware issue haven't, as far as I know.
I've tried everything I could and wouldn't even be able to describe it all.
Do you guys know how I could be sure if it's hardware or software related ?
Last try: update via Lg Bridge, succeed but still stuck on LG screen.
Thanks a lot !
Flash a lollipop kdz via LGUP, then try the ILAPO (works only with lollipop, no marshmellow) metod, there is a thread on xda.
There is a video on youtube too

Thanks, I'm going to try this and let you know !
I gave a look on what you've suggested, but is that going to let me use the phone or only backup ?
From what I understood (and I might be wrong), this only allows to backup because the phone would be worthless...

You'll be abble to use the phone, but it would be slower duo to the fact that with ILAPO you disable the "2 more powerfull" cpu cores... this metod let only 1 core active from the other 4, if you want to use the other two you have to gain root permissions and install an .apk to reactive the other 3. It's a litle triky but better than nothing I guess
PS: if you dont want to deal with all this bulls**it send it to LG
Same problem
This morning my Lg G4 also got stuck in boot Lg screen. Did you manage to fix your issue or got the data backup ?
sometimes flashing stock LP firmware fix it.. sometimes you must send it back to LG for repair..

I managed to backup, it's a weird trick and you need to have TWRP installed I guess:
- Remove the battery
- Plug your phone (I used my laptop but I'm guessing it also work directly from the charger)
- Push volume down + power
- Insert battery holding those buttons
I managed to enter TWRP and backup with this.
It didn't work at first, I had to try it several times.
I also read you have to keep holding volume down + power until the phone reboot itself once, and then you get access to TWRP but I tried so many times differently I don't remember which one worked best. Anyway, it worked for me that way.
I didn't fix the issue and I sent it to LG... I'm so frustrated, it's been 10 years I'm into this stuff and I always managed to fix everything
Hi guys,
So my G4 just came back from LG, they replaced the motherboard and that's it... A bit disappointed to not having been able to fix it myself but at least, it worked.
I didn't have to pay anything since it was a hardware defect, LG took care of it.
Thanks for those who tried to help, I hope this post would be useful for some with the same issue.

I'm having this same issue out of the blue. Is your serial number one of the infamous "before 509" ones? I'm on TMo with the H811, so it may not be similar at all....but I'm at my wits end. I've never had a spontaneous boot loop happen to me before now. It was always something I'd done.

Indeed, my serial number was 505 something.
I've been there too, if it's spontaneous, it must be this hardware defect...

Interesting... Especially since mine was a 509 or something. I guess they missed some units. Oh well, I just JUMP'ed early with my TMo plan to the G5. That was my second G4 after a similar issue 13 days into owning the first one back in November. Having your phone spontaneously die is quite a fun way to spend your anniversary -____-. I wasn't about to give that model a 3rd try. Thanks for replying.
Hello there, First of all i am new here, This is my first post here... well let's continue with my problem.
I bought a LG G4 about 1 month ago, everything was going perfectly, but 2 days ago it start to install a new android version on the phone, it says a new update was there, so i tried to download it... Everything goes ok and then my phone start with problems, i can't unistall any app because my phone restart, can't do a password because it close, can't use my phone like always...
So i tried to downgrade my phone to a previous android version, i tried this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-lg-g4-stock-firmware-to-stock-kdz-t3107848
I used the kdz method using LG UP, i downloaded the firmware (PR H810PR10a_04.kdz) so i decided to follow the step in the thread mentioned before, everything was ok, it show up 100% and say complete, so i decide to unplug my phone and tried to power up, so what's up? My phone died, i can't make it power up, can't access download mode, can't acess factory reset or anything else, It doesn't power up using power on button, tried to charge and does nothing, PC don't reconigze it...
So maybe i bricked it, Is there any solution to this? As i need help... I am afraid of losing my phone as it was working amazing before.
Thanks you in advance.

Just give another cable a try. Maybe it's just the charger. Otherwise you may be another victim of the motherboard issue. Which serial? 5xx?

Pull out he battery and you will see the serial. If it starts with 5xx your chances are big that you're another victim of the main board issue.
Check the other threads regarding bootloop and if you wanna recover your data try the freezer or oven method (search for those here)
.

I can't make PC to recognize it, can't put chargers, don't even give any sign of life to power up, LED don't power up... So how can i do any of these methods when i can't make it awake?
Thanks you.
Me too, my phone doesn't turn on anymore, please help
Any solution to this please?
Your phone is proably refurbrished, and it have no all h810 parts inside. So proably it's not H810, and you flashed image for this, that's can be problem. you have to disassembly your phone and check parts.
I buyed it new so it's not refurbrished

It's an Online shop, I bought it directly of a trusted seller so i am sure it's new... The problem come when it start updating.
LG is having a hard time with dead phones, one of my Nexus 5x just died... It just died and will need to send it to repair.

So I was on holiday in London recently and i left my phone charging for a while, when i went to use it to check my texts all of a sudden it froze and got stuck in a bootloop.
After coming back from my holiday i bought a new battery which didnt fix the problem. Sometimes the phone manages to boot up but its either laggy or it ends up restarting into a bootloop eventually. I have tried everything, hard reset, upgrading to 6.0, flashing, and nothing seems to work.
I dont know what else to do at this point, is my phone screwed or am i missing something?
LG D855
find any fix
tried new battery but no luck

Same here
I have the exact same problem my lg g3 d855 would randomly restart or/and bootloop. I did everything I wiped dalvik cache data even internal storage and started from scratch. It stopped for a while but then again it started to do the same thing. If you find any solution let me now.

I think this was caused by a virus or bad update. before I updated my friends I managed to get it to to boot once and the Wi-Fi did not work either after update Wi-Fi still did not work. Which would explain why this happened at the same time to multiple people... tried everything to fix Wi-Fi nothing would work he ended up sending it back for replacement under warranty.
All the flash does is update it to the latest android which would not cause the Wi-Fi problem

I cant believe this, I was looking at a post i made on another forum a while back and someone said the sd card was corrupted, so i removed the sd card and Lo and ****ing behold my phone is working perfectly again. Somehow the SD card is corrupted or something while still functioning. hopefully this helps, i dont get why this isnt suggested in LGs official troubleshooting guide, ridiculous.
downgrade to kitkat 4.4.2 stock rom
For LG G3 boot loop issue, only downgrading to stock ROM KitKat 4.4.2 worked for me. Newer android releases seem to cause hardware conflicts with this model, especially while using Wi-Fi and enter in a boot loop. To downgrade, I used LGUP Tool and a suitable kdz file as LG stock firmware which you can find after some research on the net.
