Is there any way to get the stock audio visualization live wallpapers like the waveform one from stock android roms on a touch wiz based rom? I tried to just get the apk out of a roms zip and it wouldn't install. I'm running slimfast v4 if that helps.
Figured it out
I used root explorer and copied it to system/app then gave it permissions and restarted and its working fine now. I just assumed it would install normally like the bubble and phase beam wallpapers did. I wonder if there is a modded version that allows you to change the colors like you can in magic smoke but for waveform.

I am a happy EB13/Bonsai 3.0.0 user, with one exception:
Wallpapers selected from my SD card through QuickPic are narrow/static, and not the side-scrolling 960x800 pixel size that I've come to like.
The stock Sprint wallpapers selected through the stock wallpaper control remain wide & scrolling.
Is this a QuickPic issue, a Bonsai issue, or something else altogether? Are static wallpapers a setting that is burnt into the Bonsai rom somewhere, that I'm just going to have to get used to?
How would this work for a kludgy workaround:
1. Locate the Sprint wallpapers on the phone; and,
2. Dump my lovingly-prepared 960x800 wallpapers in that directory via a root shell?
<I'd have posted this question in the Bonsai thread in the Dev forum, but I don't have the requisite 10 posts yet.>
Ugh...
I am having the same issue and changing gallery apps did not help. This seems to be something to do with a setting in Bonsai4All...
I confirmed with the QuickPic developer that this was a ROM issue.
The issue is fixed in Bonsai4All 3.0.1.
:-D
Is there a 2.3 otA that has been rooted and debloated? Thank you
Try the Incredibly Debloated ROM by lefty here.
There's also RMK's debloated version (which I believe Lefty's is based on) here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161411
I've been running this and it's great - no issues whatsoever.
And if you don't use Sense (and therefore can't use any of the Sense widgets), I made an even more debloated version of this (RMK's rom). Think of it as sort of a SuperClean version. I removed the following:
*ALL* widgets
Skin Picker
Wood skin
Metal skin
Slate skin
HTC Wallpapers
Mode 10 Wallpapers
Image Wallpaper
Magic Smoke Wallpapers
Weather Wallpaper
Live Wallpaper Picker
Adobe Flash installer
Rosie (the Sense launcher)
Quick Office
Footprints
Mail
GReader
Stocks
Friend Stream
Flickr
Protips
Instant Messaging
Twitter
Facebook
Connected Media
Weather (including the associated apks)
Visual Voicemail (although VVM still shows up in the app drawer as part of the SMS app)
All extra wallpapers, skin and bookmark thumbnails
The launcher has been replaced with the free market version of ADW, which itself can be removed once you install your launcher of choice.
I was just tired of removing all this stuff after flashing the ROM. You can add in any of these by downloading RMK's original rom and manually coping the desired APK's into /system/app. If/when I have time, I may look into some subtle interface tweaks (expanded reboot menu, things like that), but for now, it's just RMK's rom with all that stuff removed.

At 160dpi on my epic touch my music player crashes when i click on its icon, but when i search and select a song it plays. I like the stock music player because of the status bar widget and sound quality. Is there an modded apk out there i can use somewhere?
I've just tried music player on 160 & 200 screen density and had no issue at all.
I'm on FD05 rom (music player v2).
Did you try on default 240 or any other density?
it works on 240 fine. on 160dpi running unNamed rom 2.0.1 FB27(baseband) its not working properly. i have Music 1.1.1 where did you get Music V2 from? can you please link me to where to find the apk
It's the stock app. So you can get it from any stock ics rom. Maybe you can download Calk's stock rom zip file and unzip it. You can just extract music app from /system/app folder.
Place extracted file to your phone's same directory with permission 644. (Replace your existing app) I'm not familiar with noname rom but I think you can still try.

Did anyone else experience this after flashing the ics update? Is there any way to get it back? It just seems strange considering the ics updates/leaks from every other carrier do have the option to set a scrolling background on the home screen. Any insight would be appreciated

In Touchwiz this happened on the maintenance update. They eliminated the scrolling wallpaper, which carried on to the official ICS T989 update. Even though all the ported ICS roms from other phones/carriers have scrolling wallpaper, the official T-Mobile ICS does not.
I've heard you can download launchers that support scrolling wallpaper (never tried myself), but I'm a Touchwiz fanboy, and it really bothers me that we don't have scrolling wallpaper.
I tried to google search a solution, which I found this:
OK if you are having issues resizing the wallpaper in the gallery that came with the new ICS leak then I've got a fix for you. I tried changing the code of the gallary3d apk in both ucle2 ics and 2.3.5 gingerbread with no success. So I found a gallary apk file on the net for android stripped the code made some minor tweaks installed and bam I could resize wallpaper again. OK let me give you some info you need to know...
First you will need the apk file from the link below. And you may want to download apex launcher from the market and here is why...
1. Using Apex launcher you have the ability to resize wallper and wallpaper scrolls again as you flip thru home screens. Apex launcher is a free download from the Google play store.
2. With stock touchwiz launcher that came on the phone after you install the apk file below you will have the ability to resize wallpaper only the scrolling wallpaper as you flip thru home screens still does not work in touchwiz and since I don't use touchwiz I'm not gonna try to make it cause touchwiz sucks anyway.
3. With go launcher, tw launcher, MX home and other launchers on the play store I have no idea. Untested on launchers other than those listed above. So try if you want and report if it works on other launchers if you want.
I have tested this on my skyrocket and it is working. Also tested it on my wife's Samsung INFUSE 4G running gingerbread and it fixed her wallpaper resizing issue to. Also fixes wallpaper scroll on the Infuse using touchwiz and go launchers but that was on the Infuse only. WALLPAPER SCROLL DOES NOT WORK USING TOUCHWIZ ON THE SKYROCKET WALLPAPER RESIZE ONLY UNLESS YOU USE APEX LAUNCHER. Just wanted to say that again so I don't get 1000 messages saying my wallpaper still won't scroll using stock launcher.
Now one more thing if you install the apk below like normal just open and install and you still have a problem resizing wallpaper then try this... you must be rooted and have an app installed that lets you get to the root folders. I use rom tool box lite free from Google play but you can use whatever root file explorer you choose. Open up root explorer find the apk you downloaded below and copy it. Then navigate to the system/app folder and paste it there. Use rom manager also free from Google play to fix permissions reboot and it should work. But try the regular install method first. As I said this is working for me on both the new ics leak on my skyrocket and on gingerbread on the Samsung infuse...
Thanks to xcraxydx for providing a couple of apks that I needed....

This person uses a different phone though (SAMSUNG-SGH-I727).
Nova launcher will give you scrollable wallpapers.... and a little bit more of a ics look.
I just flashed the latest leak - was a super nexus user - and I really didn't like the stock Samsung dialer and contacts. Can someone provide a flash able zip containing both
Thanks a lot in advance

From what i know, Aosp apps only work on aosp roms, not on sammy roms. So you have to return to the aosp rom if you like the aosp dialer and contacs.

Is that so?... Thanks anyway

How many time I spend try understand for what rom should I go :\
For one hand I want use a CM10 based rom (like Resurrection Remix)
- I love all the UI, Dialer, Contacts MMS, Holo theme at his best
- Lock screen
- The notification center
- all the customization
For other hand I want a Sammy based rom (like Omega)
- S Planner (Calendar)
- Music Player
- Call Recorder
- 15 toggle (I need the flashlight)
I never find a way to install S Planner or Music Player from Samsung in CM10 or a theme/mod that put my Sammy rom looks like CM10/AOSP (the original Holo theme)
1) Only thing I could put in Sammy rom from CM10 is the MMS :victory:
2) You can always use the JB Domination Theme from Vertumus, is not = but is a very close theme from original Holo, (I think Contacts are not themed) he is doing a amazing job, the only 2 downsides are, only works on 4.0 roms and for what I understand the rom cant be using Themes or Mods. I dont have sure if Call Recorder or 15 toggle are "mods".
Check my sig for all the AOSP apk's, just push them with ADB or copy them to /system/app with ES file explorer. Don't forget to set permissions rw-r-r. Didn't test with phone/contacts but other AOSP apps like calendar do work on Hypergalaxy (stripped Samsung ROM).

As for the reasons for your love of sammy roms, cm10 based roms have the torch toggle in the notification toggles. You just need to go under the settings for it and enable it. Additionally you can even enable it to be activated by long press on home button on lock screen in roms like temaseks 4.1.2 and jellybam.
The calender call recording and music player are more preferences for the apps themselves ( arguably superior versions exist on play depending on your taste) but I do understand the upsides to the samsung integrated apps.
The broken camera is what keeps me away from CM10/AOKP Roms. Broken video recording etc, just can't deal with it. I miss my old Chameleon Rom for the S2. Samsung firmware modded with AOSP apps and UI. Amazing
