Model id scrambled, backlight off, can't flash anything. - HTC One X

Hello, you glorious bastards
Trying to revive customer's One X, CID 032 after the original system started to crash and factory reset didn't help.
After tons of failed RUU, rom and recovery flashes (only cwm 5.8.4.0 worked because of the touch-problem) I was able to flash Revolution JB Deodexed 4.18.401.3 through recovery.
For the first time ever it went past "quietly brilliant" logo and booted to a certain point where it even showed a force-close error. I was happy with that At least it's something.
This is where things took the turn for the worst:
> Bootloop
> Remembered to flash boot.img
> boot.img flash crashed/freezed!!! (either because it got LOCKED after flashing rom or the battery was on the edge of the acceptable %, i'm not sure)
> rebooted to fastboot, SCREEN FLICKERED once (showing black-white stripes) and the backlight was dead after that and still is.
> tried unlocking again with the Unlock_code.bin but unlock token check failed
> checked "getvar all" and saw this (model id used to be PJ46100) :
Code:
C:\AndSDK\sdk\platform-tools>fastboot getvar all
(bootloader) version: 0.5a
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.72.0000

(bootloader) commitno-bootloader: None
(bootloader) hbootpreupdate: 2
(bootloader) gencheckpt: 0
all: Done!

Now i can't flash anything because it's locked and model id is jibberish (also serial).
Can't read any info on screen because backlight is off or broken (can only enter fastboot by pushing buttons by memory)
I might have forgotten some details because I was tired and had been working on it non-stop for 6 hours.
You guys have any ideas?
Could the hardware itself be faulty? Because nothing has gone the way it should.
Can a failed flash cause blacklight faliure?
P.S. My first post in many years and have to say... not even million thanks-buttons wouldn't show how amazing you developers all are. Keep it up.

I don't think so. The symptoms are totally different.
When it still had factory installed system it just started crashing and rebooting. The display, backlight and all the touchy functions worked perfectly.
Now the display itself works, I can see the boot logo and fastboot menu under certain angle and light condition (it's just hard to see the text because it's so small)
Only the backlight has "died"... along with the model ID.
Any other ideas?

[Q] My HTC One X stucked on the 'Quietly Brilliant' screen.

Hi everyone!
I'm a noob I do admit first of all.Recently I wanted to flash custom roms on my phone. So essentially I had to unlock the bootloader first.I managed to do that and even get the CWM recovery.img to flash.I installed CM10 Nightly but I got a bootloop. As I found out,I needed to flash the compatible boot.img for it to boot up.But here's the thing.I was pretty sure I flashed the right img,but now it just stays on the white 'Quietly Brilliant' screen. After locking and unlocking the phone again,it was supposed to reboot and start normally right? But that wasn't the case for me.Now it's stucked on the 'Quietly Brilliant' screen and doesn't boot up.I can go to the bootloader and CWM recovery, but apparently there's nothing for me to backup from there. All the error message I got was "no such file"
This was yesterday and I left the phone to charge for the whole night. This morning I saw the LED light indicates it's fully charged but I'm still stucked on the same screen. What can I do to solve this? I can't even mount usb from the CWM recovery to do manual installation of roms or files..Please can anyone help me?
I'm using an iMac and my phone is the international One X.And what is a RUU? Do I need that now and how do I get it and know if it's the right one? I need this phone to be up ASAP as I'm using it for work too.Ya,I don't have a spare phone. Please help. Thanks a million, much appreciated.
Did you erase cache from fastboot?
Fastboot erase cache
I'm pretty sure it will boot after that.
You should be able to mount SD as USB, you need cwm 5.8.4.0.
just Extract boot.img from Zip file you flashed, save it to Fastboot folder then flash it.
fastboot flash boot bootfilename.zip
I guess It may help you.
Press THNAKS if you like.

[Q] Desire HD Recovery

Hi All,
I have a Desire HD which I think has corrupt software on it. I am not able to boot the normal software, it just says "htc" and sits there doing nothing.
I have read that I might need to re-flash it's software back on there to see if that makes any difference.
I'm not interested in rooting the device or installing anything on it - I just want it on it's stock firmware...and usable.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
You need to find the correct RUU For your phone. Shippedroms.com I belive is the site. ( Google it and will pop up)
Download it on your computor plug your USB In and run the RUU will guide you through.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply - I have got what I believe to be the right RUU - I put the phone into FastBoot Mode and run it and it just sits at "erasing user data" and does nothing else.
Am I required to do anything else, or do you think this phone is broken ?
Thanks again,

How did you end up like this? You need to provide CID number to know what is the RUU that suits your device. Boot into fastboot usb and in a PC cmd screen type:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
Then paste the outcome in here (DELETE THE IMEI PLEASE)
You need adb and fastboot to be in your PC for it to work.

Hi There,
Thanks for your reply.
So I tried the downloaded, it appeared to work, everything uploaded.
The phone rebooted and then came to the white screen that says "htc"
after what seemed about 10mins it then said "htc, quietly brilliant" and produced that annoying sound. It then keeps rebooting and displaying this and doing that sound.
I tried to do the normal Clear Cache/Storage whatnot and it's not done anything - Maybe it's truly broken ?
Thanks again.

[Q] Noob trying to get a working wfs

I'm pretty new to flashing/rooting a phone, but busy now for a few days. With help of different threads here I managed to unlock the wfs.
What I want:
a working phone, with an installation Android 4.2.
Additional information:
I know how to start hboot
In hboot when i select recovery, I get an HTC logo, after that the screen turns black (whit a litlle bit of backlight)
When I startup normally, I have a HTC logo and the screen turns black)
I have a SD card which is not orignal for this phone.

Boot Loop crash, RUUs and Recovery not working

Hello,
This morning I woke up to my Verizon HTC one rebooting constantly. The night before I had done nothing unusual, just some games and youtube. I have not changed any system or xposed settings in at least 2 weeks. A few days ago the phone had begun randomly rebooting and I thought I would just flash a new rom soon so I didn't worry too much about it. I was/am running clean rom.
Right now I just want to get something functional, I can not seem to do much with device other than reboot it. TWRP is installed, but it crashes and reboots a few seconds after loading. I tried the RUU from this thread 3 times (verified the MD5 too) and no change. I had to use the SD card as the fastboot oem rebootRUU just seems to boot up the phone normally.
Additionally I tried flashing CWM and that did not "Stick" it appeared to flash successfully, but attempting to boot into recovery only brings up TWRP.
I've tried wiping the cache several times, but that did not seem to help at all.
If anyone has suggestions I would love to hear them. Bonus points if you know what caused this. Right now I just want something that will function as a phone even if it means unrooted stock. I had this exact issue one month ago and I had Verizon replace the phone, I doubt they will be as willing to replace it a second time.

I'm not familiar enough with the verizon specific issues to help beyond offering the suggestion that you post the same question in the verizon M8 section. Hopefully, there's a "restore to stock" type thread in the verizon area that would be helpful to get things normalized again.

Just to verify, when flashing your recovery you are using
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

Yes, I am definitely flashing to recovery rather than boot. On boot I get the clean rom loading screen (not twrp).
I did manage to get CWM up for a few minutes using fastboot boot, but that eventually crashed as well.

Stuck at HTC logo screen

Well, there was a tiny update that came up after I had downloaded Loloipop update long time ago.. It was something about security, so I couldn't care less since it is not a big deal, today my friends told me about Marshmello update and said I had to download this tiny update, so I get the Marshemllo update... I went back to stock recovery, downloaded and installed that update succesfully, then my mobile rebooted and stuck on black blank screen, I kept restarting my mobile by holding power button + volume up, but still I get same screen.. Can you help me with that? I did the steps you asked so you know about my mobile information..

Can someone help?
Just to confirm, is your phone stuck on HTC boot logo or it's a black screen?
Try holding power and volume up, when it restarts let go of the volume up and hold volume down to try to boot into the bootloader

Also please erase your serial number and your IMEI's for security purposes. Your security specifically. You can leave the rest though.

Well, when I shutdown my device and open it back, it gets stuck on HTC logo screen, then I hold power button+Volume up button, it restarts, goes to htc logo screen then a black blank screen appears..
I can get normally to bootloader by holding volume down after it restarts and I did factory reset through bootloader, but it didn't help still..
So basically, I have normal access to the bootloader normally..
If the screen stays black after holding power + volume up, there's something wrong with your recovery. This usually results in a blank black screen with backlight still on.
To get your phone booting again, you'll need to download a different recovery image.
