And cleanest way to make a new install?
Do you need anything else sir? A glass of water maybe?
How about looking at the most popular threads in general forum?

As this is my first post i hope i have been lurking long enough to know how not to get flamed...here goes...lol
I'm wondering if it would be a good idea after I downgrade, to manual root and unlock nand, so i know how everything works, then after i get that taken care of run unrevoked forever to get permanent s-off then flash my chosen recovery back to the phone.
Anyone see any real issues doing this?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Obviously you haven't lurked long enough to know that it's a bad idea to title a thread so vaguely.
But since we're here, I'll chime in. Isn't that all of what you'd be doing anyway? Kinda like asking, "After I cut this guy open and remove his appendix, is there any harm to sewing him back up afterward?"
In short: No. That is exactly the right thing to do. And rooting "by hand" is my personal recommendation anyway, for exactly the reasoning you provided.
Yeah i realized about the title when i read it in the thread list...
Thanks for the input, thats pretty much what i figured. I just wanted to get the opinion of someone that has more experience than i do .
Hey guys I will be getting my Evo tomorrow. And I have some questions.
1. What are the positives of rooting the Evo?
2. Can the Evo be unrooted?
3. There seems to be alot of choices on which ROMs to use, which are best?
4. I really love the smooth a sharp look of icons and the whole interface. Can I keep this? I am not sure if I can explain it well, I just hate the blocky looking interfaces that some themes have.
5. Is this dangerous to do? I dont want to break my phone.
I will think of more questions I have. The reason I made a new thread and didn't just search for everything is so I can interact and ask more questions.
Thanks

Fair enough I guess, but to be honest you'll most likely get better/more in depth answers by searching the forums. But I'll give ya some quickies.
1. http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/129648-quick-intro-rooting-those-new-rooting.html
Some benefits are listed there. ^
2. Yes.
3. That is kind of like asking what car is best. Better to test drive a few and see what you like. CM6, Fresh, BakedSnacks all seem to be popular.
4. Yes. You do not need to change themes by rooting. When looking at ROMs, it seems you would benefit from choosing one that has Sense or even a stock ROM.
5. As long as you do research and follow directions the risks are minimal.
I'm far from an expert on this, though, so still do research.
I've been switching between roms a lot lately looking at different features an finding likes and dislikes about each and after looking through the forum I couldn't find the answer to this questiion so is it possible to take certain parts of roms and put them on others? For instance I like the spare parts options in Enoms rom but the overall layout of CM. Is there any way to port one to the other or if I wnted to incorporte a piece of another Rom? I know its probably just wishful thinking but thought i'd ask. (And if this is the wrong place to ask mods please move as I wasn't sure where to put it)

Why don't you just install spare parts?

Because the spare parts in Enoms ROM is completely different. Try looking into things before answering, lol.
OP, definitely wrong section, and to answer, it MAY be possible, if you compile from their sources directly, and pick certain things. Honestly though, I really REALLY doubt it, and it's probably just wishful thinking. Sorry.
Dunno, but try this forum - http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=613

Thanks I kinda figured as much but I'm going to give ut a try anyways
I'm sure this has been asked before but is there any current consensus on the best custom rom for the sprint note 2? What are the advantages over the stock rom 4.4.2? Is there really any need to install a custom rom or will rooting and sideloading achieve enough functionality?
Everyone is different and will like different things try several and use the one you like best.

first of all, this isn't a question to ask, because its a little rude. maybe you should subscribe to my thread, cuz its basically the same question but asked with specifics.
right now, if anyone actually answers this question, you may not like the rom they like. (bare bones roms to bloated roms, everyone is different). secondly, answering this question would be a slap in the face to those who put countless hours rebuilding roms from scratch. just to say that their work doesn't compare to another's work.
next time. ask for specifics, multi-window vs halo, certain apps, certain features. maybe ask for something similar that is offered through a different carrier but not yours. but obviously, don't ask for the "best" one. no one will answer you.
just a heads up bro.
Alright so I have an LG G4 LS991ZVI and I was wondering if any of you here knew a good way to go about rooting it. I can't seem to find anything on the web about it. I really love this phone and I've had it for three years now. I'm just getting tired of running Nova Launcher so I can have a smidge more control over how it works. I want that full access. Also if you know of a good way to root it what are some good ZVI ROM's that I could use with it? Thanks guys.

I don't have this device but, there's a handful of guides regarding this topic within the Device Specific area of the forum.
This is just one of them.

If you have any other questions, your best bet is to post it on the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device.
