How is the Battery life ? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi, i think of getting a used Galaxy Nexus and i want to ask you how is the battery life, screen time etc. Thanks!

Biggest issue w/GN is it's first gen OLED Screen which sucks at 2-3h's.
Otherwise battery standby life is <1%=1h

Does rooting decrease battery life? Just wondering, because I just got my new Kindle Fire. My last one wouldn't charge. I just went to best buy and they gave me a new one. My last one's battery life wasn't too good, and I was just wondering if rooting decreases the battery life. And I mean does it change 7 hours of reading with lowest brightness to 5 hours of reading with the lowest brightness. I mean, it rarely died on me but I was just wondering. I guess that there might be some extra apps running.

I don't see how rooting in itself would adversely affect battery life. All rooting does to the system software is install another binary (su) and an app (Superuser). Neither one is going to affect battery life, so I'm sure there must be some other factors involved.
Rooting your Kindle Fire will allow you to better manage running apps/processes, which will actually IMPROVE your battery life. My biggest tip for saving some juice: if you're not using it, turn it off. This includes apps, the play/kindle store, the backlight, and most of all, WiFi. It just EATS battery.
Also, try not to let your battery get too low. Draining your battery past its reserves will reduce your overall battery life. Hope this helped

[Q] Samsung Galaxy s3 Battery Life

Hey everyone. I was just wondering what you people's battery life is like on a samsung galaxy s3 i747 att. My galaxy s3 is rooted, running 4.2.1 rom and the battery is bad. If i just watch like 20 minutes of youtube/ anime, the battery would go down about 5 percent. So i was just wondering is there any tips to save battery? or anything that i can do to extend m battery life. Thank you
The best thing you can do is to not use Max brightness and make sure no rogue apps running in the background. Cut sync times down. Cut down screen off time. Cut off unneccessary things. Like keyboard or device vibrating or making sounds everytime you touch it. Tons of things you can do to extend battery life.
The top thing you can do is buy an extended battery. So battery life won't be an issue for you. I'm rocking 4400mAh Hyperion extended battery. Ever since I got it, nbattery life is not an issue anymore. I even rum with Max brightness all the time and still get battery life with it. Surf the web, watch videos, and play games like crazy and battery still has plenty of juice yet. Check out the accessories thread on batteries. Great info on good batteries and battery life in there.

but the problem with extended battery is that the case is bulgy

Ever since JB upgrade my battery has been ****. I am on AOKP 1/15 right now and am at 30% battery life over 8 hrs with only 25 min screen time. For some reason or another, I am getting high battery drain from Cell Standby. It's not just AOKP but a few roms I have tried...Google Now disabled, sync disabled, auto brightness, etc...I have tried other modems as well...maybe its my phone, but I can barely get through a work day with minimal screen on time.
That drain sounds about right for streaming. On the stock rom here, after the initial OTA battery life was maybe 6 hours at the most. For some odd reason, its gotten better, back on stock ICS I got about 8-10 hours max,18 if I barely used it. Now its giving me a hour of youtube and a hour or so on twitter/web browsing, texting, getting 10-14 hours on a charge,26 hours with minimal use

are there any good roms for battery life?

[Q] Battery life

Hello.
I was wondering if my battery life is low or not, so I want to know what your battery life is guyz.
My battery would last like 12hs with wifi always on and facebook, some music here and then and youtube. is it a normal consumption ?
There are so many variables that come into play with battery life that is nearly impossible to quantify what sort of battery life someone should be getting. Screen on time, brightness settings, radios used, reception, usage patterns, apps running in the background....tons of things that will be different from person to person. Also, the actual battery itself comes into play with how well it can hold a charge.
As long as you are happy with your battery situation, all is well. If not, perhaps look into what is using your battery. Better Battery Stats can potentially help you narrow down where things on the software end are draining your battery.

That's about what I use to get.
I went out and bought a spare battery. I'm not a fan of extended batteries so I went with a standard battery for about $10.
I also flashed a new kernel that will help on the screen brightness and underclocking.

[Q] about stock battery

Hello guys! I am a nebie here and i own the gpad.I wanted to ask you about the life of the battery,is it depleted so quickly because of the resolution of the screen or is it a result of poor optimizing on behalf of lg?Will the custom roms and kernels will be able to fix the problem and extend the battery life?Cause if its going to be fixed,it will be one of the best tablets
Thank you in advance
According to the battery usage data that the G pad produces, its pretty much the screen itself that consumes pretty much all of the power.
If that is correct, and I believe it is, there is no fix for it.
The only real thing you can do to extend battery life is turn down the brightness of the screen.

Battery life on 5X

Hi,
Do you have problems with the battery life on the stock ROM?
No matter what version I am running like 7.0 or 7.1 the battery life is still bad like 2:30 hours of screen on time while just looking on Facebook and Twitter, nothing hard...
My Moto G 2013 had 5 hours in those conditions even more sometimes and that's strange beacuse 5X has a larger battery and perhaps a more energy efficient SoC.
Do you know any costum ROM wich has great battery life and RAM management?

Seems pretty normal for the N5X. Try the search function or read the Advanced Interactive Governor thread for options to you can try. Don't expect miracles though.
720p screen phones with weaker processing will get longer battery life than a 1080p screen phone with stronger processing. Moto G devices get some of the longest battery life for this reason.
2.5 hours is especially low for a 5x though. 3-4 would be average when draining from 100% to 0% while actively using the screen a lot, and I regularly see 5-6 hours SoT with my usage.
Couldn't say anymore without screenshots. There is a battery thread in General for sharing screenshots and you can see examples of which to post.
