I've factory reset 3 times both in settings and recovery, backup restore turned off. As soon as the phone boots I get error to reinstall Google plus hit ok and it takes me to Amazon store. Never get to home screen. Can pull down status bar and go to settings but G+ message will keep coming up. In app management there is no G+ to remove.
Had every thing working and tried deleting some of kingroot files in root explorer. Lost root and couldn't get it back. Factory reset and here I am.
Thinking of putting update bin on phone and checking for updates and hopping it will install clean. Didn't work sayed it was older than install ed.
Adb sideload update.bin did the trick!
After all that there were kingroot folders and files still not deleted.

Hi all,
I am trying to update my 10.1 tab 3 device through the relevant entry in settings, but I get an error about my "device is modified".
I hard reseted the device, and I am still getting the same error. What can be happening?
Maybe you have root your tablet or install new recovery ?
Press and hold power, home, and volume down. You will see a warning screen then press volume up to enter Odin mode on the tablet and check the binary number. If its not 0 your device is modified and you can't update it. You must restore the original Samsung firmware without Root or something else on your device.
No, I have not rooted my tablet. I have only isntalled a few apps from the play store.
I tried to hard reset a few times without any success. I think that erasing everything from the sd card, solved the problem (after a hard reset).
I don't know why, and which app has placed what on the sd card.
I had really few apps, kindle, skype, oasvn, and some apps related to night sky maps. And the official vnc viewer app.
I rooted without any issues and then went to turn off OTA by entering 3845#*yourversionnumber# and pressing Disable in WLAN OTA.
I am still getting the notification that the Upgrade is downloaded and ready to be installed. Is there a way to get rid of this? I tried to find the file (looked in Cache folder) but could not find it.
Thanks in advance

Try clearing data on "download manager" in application manager.
I just got the notification and can't get rid of it either. Long press on notification -> app info takes me to Google Play Services.
I'm not sure how I can clear out the notification. I've already renamed LGFOTA.apk and cleared cached and DISABLED OTA in hidden menu.
My phone : SM-928P working ok, updated to 6.0.1 via OTA. But "activation not completed" notification can not complete, it's retry 5 times, and stuck. Please help me hơ to fix it. Thank so much!
Work-around
Hello! Go to applications and select top right corner to show system apps and search for system update. Then force stop. Its not a fully funcional solution but I won't bother you until next restart.
Other options:
Root it, and remove the message with idoneapp.
If you want to keep it unrooted:
Root it.
Install idoneapp
Remove the activation message.
install TWRP
Save a backup of the whole system with smart switch.
Unroot your phone installing Marshmallow stock rom.
Restore your last backup with smart switch.
Reboot the phone to enter in TWRP.
Reset your phone with TWRP: it will delete EVERYTHING except the internal content (pictures, videos, will be kept but all apps installation will disappear). The activation message will be showed just ONCE. Then it will disappear.
Install the apps one by one. You will have still all videos, pictures and documents. I don't know if you can restore again the last backup with smart switch... maybe it works, or maybe it reinstall the activation message, I didn't try this last thing.
Thank you so much, i will try! Maybe no root!
So hello there!
I'm having the following issue and I'm kinda out of ideas.
I was running a (KingRoot) rooted fireOS 4.6.6.1 (420) if I'm not mistaken.
So this is what happened:
Phone was running just fine, but I wanted to get rid of the facebook background services which kept running without the actual app installed. Also a friend proposed to run the 'fstrim' command. So reading through xda I found an app called 3C Toolbox (http://www.3c71.com/android/?q=node/916) which seemed to be safe to use. Installed it and still didn't change a thing except for the three 'fstrim' actions to perform. After that I restarted my phone.
Powered off just fine, but at the start only the 'Amazon' logo comes up and vanishes into a black screen with the backlight still on. Even after waiting several hours nothing changes.
So what did I attempt to get it wirking again?
At first I tried to simply restart it. --> Nothing changed.
Tried to get into recovery and clean the cache. --> Nothing changed except the 'Amazon' being on for a bit longer
Get into ADB and try pull/uninstall... --> Guess due to the locked bootloader I'm not allowed to issue any command other than 'adb sideload [packagename]' for system updates. As for ADB itself I can only get it to recognize on the PC when I get into recovery and choose the 'apply update from ADB' option.
Get into fastboot according to this tutorial (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668159) --> doesn't work.
Get into 'Safe Mode' with this tutorial (https://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-phone/help/how-to-fire-phone-to-boot-safe-mode-t2828240) --> doesn't work either.
So does anybody has another idea I could give a try or should I just abondon all my data and flash a new clean image?
Also I'm not sure if updating from ADB will erase all personal data too. Guess so, but maybe I can get a clearification in here too.
My phone is a Samsung A3 2017 - model SM-A320FL. Specs: Stock rom oreo, TWRP 3.3.0, magisk 19. The phone worked fine, but got slower and less free space over time. So today I decided to do a factory reset.
- I booted to TWRP
- Format Data
- Reboot to recovery
- Format Internal Storage (to make space)
- Installed RMM-State_Bypass_Mesa_v2 and no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0
- Installed Magisk 19
- Didn't install TWRP system app.
- Reboot to system
Phone boots and I get the initial setup welcome screen to select a wifi network. After that Google setup starts, presents eula, and is looking for updates, but after a few minutes I get the message that the Play services stopped (app stopped) and Google setup starts again. Endlessly. I don't know how to solve this. I did a new factory reset, tried a newer version of magisk (20.4), but no success. Every time the same error message pops up and I can't get pass this screen.
I don't get it, because nothing changed since the last time I was able to install TWRP and magisk. Same ROM, same software versions.
Anybody?
So let me update my own post. I managed to skip the initial setup, by removing my sim card and also not selecting a wifi network. Then you can continue and don't have to log into Google. After finishing the initial setup I still had issues with setting up Google play. Every time I started the setup, the app crashed. I download a recent version of the Play Services and installed the apk. But no luck. I also tried to copy it to the system apps folder in the hope it will be installed with a factory reset. But also no success. In the end I had to restore stock rom with odin, and then reinstall twrp and magisk. That was for me the only way to fix this issue. Hopefully this helps others with the same problem.
