Knowing we are all seeking some way of obtaining root without some long and complex procedure. Since Sprint and Verizon use the same technology is it possible to flash a Verizon rom on a unlocked rooted Sprint note 4?

No you can't flash anything but sprint roms on that device

Hi Guys, I'm considering purchasing a Note 3 that's currently on ATT and having it unlocked to work on T-Mobile. Once I unlock it, when I am looking to have it rooted, do I follow the steps for T-Mobile root, or for ATT root? Also, when flashing roms, would I use a T-mobile or ATT kernel?
I have a lot of experience rooting devices, but have never tried rooting an unlocked device from a different carrier. Thanks for your help.

Follow the steps for the N900A (ATT variant). By following the directions for another device you're asking for a brick.
Rooting a locked or unlocked device is no different. The only difference may be differences in the EFS/NV items after a unlock which are completely separate from the system.
Sent from my SPH-L900. Please hit the thanks button if I helped you out!
You'll need to use everything from the AT&T section.
Edit: Ninja'd ^

Same here. Just bought an unlocked ATT Note 3 to use on T-Mobile.
To confirm, follow all the steps for ATT only yes?
Anyone have step by step instructions? Best ROM's to use for this scenario (Att Note 3 on TM), kernel links etc...
Thanks.
I have a general question for my note 2 possibly moving to a note 4. Can someone tell me the difference between unlocking a phone ans rooting. My note 2 is att and rooted and have it on the straight talk Sim. I picked up a new note 4 for 300 bucks can rooting it do the same as unlocking it.
I'm not in USA but believe I can help clarify. Unlocking relates to the ability to use your phone
on a different network than what it's locked to.
Rooting is completely different, it gives you total control over your device. However be aware that ATT version of N4 is locked up tight and cannot be rooted at the moment. May I spontaneously combust if my facts are wrong.
Hahaha OK well thank you I'll get it unlocked for starters. Straight talk runs on the ATT network so I'll get it unlocked to safe
What is the best way to unlock a phone? Is it a similar to do like flashing via Odin?
You purchase a code, then you put in a different carrier sim card, then type in the code, and the phone is carrier unlocked. No flashing necessary.
Rooting means gaining access to the file system of your phone to install apps, delete files, etc.
If you have no warranty on your phone, you may be able to downgrade to 4.1.1, unlock, and run OTA updates to get back to KK.
I have the Canadian version (sgh-i317m) of the Note 2 that was running the latest 4.4.2. I used Odin to flash back to stock 4.1.1 which tripped the knox counter, unlocked, and flashed back to stock 4.4.2.
Hey guy I just unlocked an old SGS3 for AT&T SGH-I747. Now i plan on giving the phone to my mom for her to use since her current phone is a POS... how would i go about getting tmobile firmware on it for her without bricking. I know i have to root first and then Recovery then Rom, but is it safe and stable to run TMO rom on the att model of the S3. I just want to make sure that i go about this the rite way.
Thanks in advance
Will she be using T-Mobile data? The i747 does not natively support aws frequencies so that may be a problem. Voice calls would probably work.
You can't flash the t999 modem and bootloader to the i747 so forget about flashing a T-Mobile rom to i747.
Pray tell: How did you Un-Lock it?
I haven't been able to get past the debug screen?
Any info is appreciated, Thanks!

Re: Root on Note 4
I understand that AT&T Note 4 is unable root able .
I can't remember but did I read somewhere that t-mobile note 4 is root able? And it must be unlocked so it can be used on att is this correct?
That is pretty much correct. AT&T and Verizon Note 4's have a locked bootloader and cannot be permanently rooted.
There is a temporary root method available if the device is running KitKat, but root is only temporary, and you can't make any permanent changes to the system because it is write protected, so it's not like a normal root. See this thread if you are interested in the temporary root method:

The TMobile Note 4 has an unlocked bootloader, so it can be rooted and can install custom recoveries and ROMs. The TMobile version can also be used on AT&T if it has been carrier-unlocked. This is the main reason why TMobile Note 4's are more expensive on the used market than the AT&T version. See this thread for more info about using the TMobile version on AT&T:

Spocko nailed it.
Hey I have an att note 10 and I want to use it for Verizon and get Verizon's note 10 version software. I already got the phone unlocked and Verizon does work but how do I get wifi calling to work and get the Verizon logo during phone bootup?

For starters, you need to download the firmware for Verizon, you can try Sammobile or Frija.
Then you'll need to flash that software into your note, that way you'll have Verizon's boot animation. As for the carrier specific features, I remember reading a post on how to enable those. Sorry for not giving a step-by-step guide buddy, but if you do search in the forum you'll find all the tools needed for what you want.
