Watch won't stay connected via Bluetooth - Moto 360

I factory reset my Moto360 after clean wiping my phone (CM12.1 Nexus 6)... Now it won't stay connected via Bluetooth to my watch. Any idea how to fix this?

Anyone?

You need to reset the watch and re-pair it to the phone.

Did that 3-4 times. Today though it seems more stable.

Looks like Android Wear keeps crashing. That's the cause of all this, even after several resets.

Maybe CM 12.1 causes the problems?

Others on 12.1 have not had these issues.

Same for me here. Didn't have any problem with LG G Watch. Receive my brand new Moto 360 thurdsay and problem appears from the first sync. I was on Android Wear 4.4. WIth luck I manage to update to Android Wear 5.0.2 but still the same problem.
I noticed that when charging the watch, the connection works few minutes after. But when unpolugging the watch, it discionnects few seconds later.
Very disappointed !! Maybe an update bug (Android Wear has been updated 18th of may.

I haven't gotten Wear 5.1.1 yet unfortunately. Hopefully soon. 5.0.2 is BUGGY! Especially with battery drain during app sync.

i'm having the same issue here running android wear 5 . and cm12.
6 reset so far today . it keep disconnecting and then after on the phone it says connecting... which does not goes away until you reset the watch .
It seems to be a software issue . Android wear is still buggy

Edit : My G watch is just receving the 5.1.1 update. Good news of the day after this 4 days in Hell with Moto 360

The Moto360 should get 5.1.1 soon... Returning it was a bit excessive IMHO.

I am receiving the same disconnect issues with my Moto 360 running 5.0.2. It happens every ~5 minutes.

It's a CM issue. When I had my S4, I had the same problem that you're describing on both CM12 and CM12.1, both official and unofficial builds. Installing a google play edition or stock-based rom solved the problem. I just got a Droid Turbo, and it also has no problems with the watch. After doing some reading, it seems like there is a problem with the way that CM12 and CM12.1 handles low energy bluetooth devices. Try another rom.

Well whoever flamed you is stupid. It's a well known problem, at least with the S4. Go to any CM12 or 12.1 thread on the Verizon GS4 forum and search for Bluetooth. I guarantee at least 10 posts asking whether or not it is fixed in the latest build.

Whenever I blame anything on CM that worked fine on stock, they all flame me.
Those that had this issue.. Were you on CM or not?

Yep...... It's a CM-bug on my S4 too. I installed echo-rom (tw based based rom) and it worked perfect .

This happens to me on my stock Nexus 5, so I doubt it's a ROM issue. Most likely it's an issue with the firmware on the 360, or maybe the hardware. Hopefully 5.1.1 comes before my 30 days is up so I can decide whether or not to keep the 360, kind of sick of resetting the watch.

Lollipop Roms and android wear

I tried to post in QandA section but for some reason it would not let me post.
Since the lollipop Roms don't support Bluetooth LE do they still pair with android wear devices? Also, is there any decreased functionality?
Thanks

I tried out for a brief moment, the AICP 12/18 build, and my G Watch connected just fine too it. Can't say for the other Roms though..
I've been running CM 12 since I got my Moto 360 2 weeks ago with no issues. It connects and pairs fine. Everything works as it should.

It works with my moto360 and CM12
I just got an Asus Zenwatch. I didn't have any issues with lollipop initially but after flashing a different ROM I had issues pairing. I had to factory reset the watch to get it to pair again.
I also read that BLE wasn't working on lollipop ROMs, which makes me question if it really is connecting on low energy. Does anyone know if this has been fixed with newer lollipop builds?

I can tell you I had paired the moto 360 and HTC one running lollipop with no issues for about 2 weeks.
I've had my G Watch R randomly disconnect all the time on every lollipop rom I've tried. Haven't had a single issue on stock LG or CM11. It connects and pairs fine and randomly shows the disconnected icon on the watch face even though the Android Wear app says its connected. Can't even reconnect without rebooting the phone or turning bluetooth off and on again. Only happens on lolipop roms though... dont know why.

I've have a Moto360 connected to my LG G3 d851 that has the same issue.
I have only used LP ROMs (Euphoria as my DD), but have yet to find one that doesn't have this issue. Disconnects up to 15-30 times a day with "Bluetooth Sharing" fometimes showing a FC. I even managed to reset my BT right after a FC and got a 'Green Screen'.. (Like a BSOD).. my guess is the unofficial BT drivers pulled from KK don't play well with LP/ART.
(FC: force close, KK: Kit Kat, LP: lollipop, BT: Bluetooth)
Wish there was a way to port the bluetooth driver from the leaked LG lolipop build for the d855
This is still an issue.
I switched back to KK thinking the issue would be solved in a few months. To my surprise, it has not been addressed. I specifically tired the Illusion Lollipop build, but no bueno.
Are there any Lollipop ROMs free of the connectivity issue?
No. Until we get official 5.0 (or more specific, the source) we won't have the specific BT stack for our device. Everything right now is working hard to get it working, but it's kinda like working blind with a deaf partner.

I've got the Sony Smartband (SWR10) and I've had trouble trying to pair it with my phone. It just won't.
I've tried multiple roms and still got the problem. The roms i tried pairing the band with: RR, DU, LiquidSmooth and Bliss Pop

Should I update my watch to lollipop?

I'm currently still running 4.4 but I've read horror stories of 5.0 and above being really buggy and not pushing notifications anymore and random disconnects. Has that been fixed or should I stay with 4.4?
It's a good update. No issues that I have had except that sometimes I set my notifications to none on accident. No performance or reliability issues.
I may consider it then. Did you notice any increase in battery life?

Yes, it's pretty massively better. I didn't have mine for very long prior to the 5 update (we're on 5.0.2 on the watch now), but I would definitely go ahead and update it.
I have no problem/issue after updating.
I did the update and am very pleased. The overall experience is better plus better battery life.
Same as everyone else
I highly recommend the update to 5:good:
We updated my wife's watch to Lollipop shortly after we took it out of the box. I like the Lollipop interface better and she has had no problems with it.
You can update to Lollipop. It is advance version and you will feel the power of this updated version.

Hello, the thing is that I buyed this smartswatch; the watch did the update for OTA 5.1.1 , and the command voice doesnt work.
Do you know what can I do?

Watch Faces Sync Issues

Hi all!
So I've just swapped my Sony smartwatch 3 for a moto 360 and have just set it up as new and downloaded a few new watch Faces (still have the old ones on my watch too from when I had them on the SW3) but for some reason even after a system reset none of them are appearing on the watch. All my notifications are appearing however.
Anyone know what is causing this? I haven't updated to the latest wear version on the watch due to the battery issues which forced me to sell my SW3 with 5.1.1 could this be the issue?
Thanks

Okay so fixed the above issue with a software update to 5.0.2. Wondering if it's better to stay on this version or go to 5.1.1...What's the best for this watch?

I get better battery backup in 5.1.1 (with tilt to wake ON, ambient display off), so I would suggest you to update and give a reset after it. (few people have battery issues with 5.1.1)
Cheers! Updated last night and doesn't seem to be toooo bad atm! No worse than 5.0.2 anyway. Still probably need time to settle though aswell I guess.
Was worried as the 5.1.1 update on the Sony watch made the battery so unpredictable!

Google Play Services + Android Wear Issues [Pure Nexus ROM]

UPDATE:
Reflashing the suggested GApps again, and wiping dalvik and cache afterwards, fixed it. No issues since then.
----------------------------
Hi guys,
Is anyone else having Google Play Services issues with their android wear device on the Pure Nexus ROM?
I flashed this rom yesterday with the suggested Gapps package (purenexus-gapps-arm64-mm-mr1-20151208.zip) and keep getting the GPS missing error notification on my LG Urbane. I have since also flashed the latest ElementalX kernel, but this was happening before I flashed it. As a result, I cannot use Google Keep, Authenticator Plus, or sync music to my watch with Play Music. The watch does pair with my phone and syncs apps though, even my watchface.
I've tried factory resetting the watch and clearing data on the Android wear app and uninstalling it and reinstalling it. I also re-downloaded the latest GPS apk to no avail.
For reference, when i go to settings -> about ->versions on my watch it shows the following:
Android wear 1.3.0.2166028
GPS 7.8.99 (2134222-534)
Android OS 5.1.1
And on my phone, these are my versions:
Pure Nexus ROM [6.0.1_r3]
ElementalX kernel [N5X-1.04]
GPS version 8.1.15 (2250156-238)
Android wear (1.4.0.2470307.gms)

Yeah I've made sure that's disabled. The funny thing is after a clean flash of Pure Nexus, Bluetooth took up 1% of battery which was great. But after a few days it's always been on top.

Hmm. Gasbuddy has a bug where it causes bluetooth drain. Do you have any apps that may use bluetooth and have a similar bug?
I am having same bluetooth battery drain issue too.
Bluetooth is always on top of my battery usage but the "stay awake" time isn't that much.
I don't have gas buddy either. but I have shopkick installed and I think it checks BT once in a while too.

GWA2 compatibility with Huawei Mate 20 Pro

So as per the title im curious whether the Galaxy Watch Active 2(SM-R820) has any issues with pairing to a Huawei Mate 20 Pro(LYA-L29).
Im worried because in the playstore review section(galaxy wearable app), there are mixed reviews about their compatibility. Some have mentioned that they have no issues pairing them and some complain they are unable to do so.
Are there any users who have tried pairing them?
Edit: After going through the feedbacks, i have gotten myself the watch today(29/11/2019) and you just have to pair the watch and it will immediately prompt you to install the necessary app and plugin to get the watch working. So its basically plug and play(Emui9.1). Leaving this here to whom it may concern in the future.
I am using the watch with Huawei P30 Pro and have no problem. The watch is functional great and paring is great. But I'm still with Android 9, I don't know with 10 how it's going to be, I read that there was any problems.

Thank you so much for your reply. Hmm i guess its ok to assume that my model should work fine too. Just to be safe i will be going over a physical store and hopefully they have a demo set for me to test.
On a side note, do you have google support on your p30 pro? Just curious.
Yes. No problem with Google app and support, have all of them and works normally.
I'm thinking that you have no problem with watch. It's great, I'm really happy with him. Come from Apple and don't believe that will have a android watch, who approach is very close to Apple watch, must say that is better. My only remark is whether app, don't know why sync is so slow, but my monitoring is that all Android watch have this problem.
Good luck and go get it
I use my gwa2 with my p20 pro, no problems whatsoever, just a lot of extra apps to download, which if you had a Samsung device would be native I guess.
The only two things that I have noted compatibility - wise, are:
- when you set an alarm via you phone, the watch will not register it as an alarm, therefore will not notify you. This has to be due to the fact that huawei alarm app is not compatible with alarm of the watch and therefore will not sync (although my notifications are set for the huawei alarm app..)
-there are some times when the watch gets disconnected from the phone, e.g. If I go out of bt range of the watch without my phone, but when I go back close to the phone the watch sometimes remains disconnected and I have to open the wearable app to press "connect" again.
That aside, the watch is great and I am so far astonished by its battery life, which is more than 3 days most of the time (WiFi off, all other on, relatively low brightness and goodnight mode set every night during sleep, in order not to vibrate in notifications but still track my sleep)

I have a Mate 20 Pro and it works perfectly as long as Android 9 is installed. Last week I upgraded to Android 10 and that's not a good match with the Galaxy Watch Active 2. I constantly have disconnects and sometimes can't connect afterwards so yeah you can use it but don't update to Android 10 yet! In the update notes Huawei already warned that the GWA2 doesn't play nice with Android 10 on the Mate 20 Pro, but I thought that it couldn't be that bad, but it is. In the same notes they said that there will be a fix but I don't know when it will be ready.

I might be unlucky but since yesterday I have many disconnections [emoji23] I think though that it might have something to do with an update in galaxy wearable app that was received yesterday.
Notwithstanding the above, I do believe that it is a great gadget to own and I repeat that the best thing that I have noticed so far is the outstanding battery life, to the point that I forget to charge it, yet never worry of running out of juice... [emoji51]

Current version of Galaxy Wearable and the Plugins (to support each watch model, we have a separated plugins) is not fully compatible with Android Q. But I think on 1-2 months, new versions that work with Q OS will be deployed.

I just got myself the gwa 2 today. So far everything seems fine. Still getting the hang of it. Its my first smart watch.
Anyway i realised there is a running coach in the workout, so if i make a custom workout, does the couch guide accordingly?
