being no M9 has it and it would involve a port from the 32bit M8 to the 64bit M9, I would guess no
Whats wrong with the Dolby sound you have now ? have you tried Viper4android ?

Thanks for the reply. Nothing particularly wrong with dolby and I haven't tried viper4android. Maybe I will.

There's viper4android for our m9, or just anything that could improve sound/bass? I used Audio FX on my oneplus one and bass was so amazing. Where can I find link to viper4android for m9??

Is the Harman Kardon - Sprint deal true?

http://bgr.com/2014/04/10/sprint-htc-one-m8-harman-kardon-edition/
Allegedly Sprint and Harman Kardon have done a speaker deal which is exclusive to Sprint customers. Would HTC actually alter a complete production line for one carrier?
If true seems a bit of a crappy thing to do to others?
It seems there is a line in the default.xml to enable it. (similar to Beats audio)
Having flashed to the RUU GPE conversion I don't have the stock default.xml so can't check.
Apparently there is also an RUU out for Sprint customers
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729173
I'm hoping it's just a eq like the beats audio software, if not I'll be a sad panda

UPDATE: Comments from an xda-developers member on the matter were removed from the forum, and the post.

you can activate harman/kardon feature on default.xml file but for me I'm not noticing any diff
Are the speakers made by h/k?
Actually probably not made by them but maybe they helped with the amp and tuning it

File is in
system/customise/ACC/ Default.xml
Look for the line that has harman in it and change value to true. You might want to change the boomsound to false.
As always keep a backup

It's in the International Rom in the default xml that's right, however the libs are missing. Same as wen can enable the beats toggle but due missing libs, it's just a useless toggle. That's why you guys don't here a difference
However my team is looking into that and is going to try to make it work for us international users too.

So you believe it is simply a software issue and the hardware is the same? Would the RUU the Sprint users have hold the libs?

it might never work on together as there are some files used by both so the system will get problems and some files only work with one of them so it will be difficult to use them so both sound features will work

I mean that if you flash h/k over boomsound then you cannot enable boomsound. All you will get is the h/k.And vice versa.
I mean you cannot use both at same time.

Read what we wrote...also all needed information can be found in Harman kardon thread...if you flashed h/k mod you could enable in the default.xml file a line to show the BoomSound toggle in settings,BUT!! it won't do anything...only ONE of those things can work...if you flashed H/K then only that...if you are using BoomSound you can use it together with h/k and vise versa...
So yea that should be now answered...
HK is greatly superior, but Viper is the best.

M8 camera module in M7

I've recently fitted a new camera module, ordered from an Aliexpress seller to a M7. Generally it is OK except that the auto focus doesn't work. The camera is actually for a M8 (part number 13P1BCA403) and has an adapter attached to fit the M7 connector.
Does anyone know if I need to install M8 lib files to make this camera work properly in the M7?

There are files in the libs folder with 'camera' in the name. Some of the files in an M8 ROM are different in name and size to the ones in a similar M7 ROM.
I was hoping that someone would say it is OK to copy the M8 files to the M7 libs folder.
I can't change the focus at all. It is reasonable for distant views, but anything closer than say 2 metres the focus is rubbish.
It's possible that the camera is faulty, and I am currently in correspondence with the seller about that.

Thanks for the offer, but I don't think that it is just one file as there are several camera related files in the /system/lib/ folder. If necessary I can move or copy files myself, but require confirmation that it is OK to do it. There is the added problem that if it does work it means that any future ROM flashing will also require file swapping. So I think I am talking myself out of using this camera and going for the latest M7 camera module 13P1BS402 instead.

The original camera had the well publicised purple tint syndrome at low light levels. The replacement camera was on offer a few weeks back and described as being suitable for the HTC One M7 801 phone. As mentioned before I am taking up the issue with the seller - fingers crossed!:fingers-crossed:

Unfortunately not and the seller would not agree to a refund.
I did however buy and install another camera module for the M7 with part number 13P1BS402 and it is currently working fine.
I hope to acquire a One M8 phone soon so that I can test if the other camera (minus the adapter) will work in it successfully.
