Hi all.
Just a quick note to say that I've been using Enpass for about 2 years now. The recent update that allows you to log into Enpass with a fingerprint fails.
On closer inspection, it seems the app will not allow you to open the app with a fingerprint, you MUST use your master password but if you leave the app running in the background, then the fingerprint will re-open the app.
This seems useless to me and something Enpass needs to make clear. If you read their app info, it just says you are able to open the app with a fingerprint. Not right in my opinion.

I've looked at Lastpass. This app does open with a fingerprint but to be honest, I find it very confusing. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The Galaxy S5 Active has a new app called Activity Zone which gives you the Barometer, Compass, Flashlight, and Stopwatch. It works perfect on our Note 3 (any variant) without installing any additional packages. Enjoy.
The Exercise link in the menu seems to crash the app. I added S Health to the list, but there is no way to remove Exercise from that menu

Okay, thanks. I will try to remove it.
To Anyone: feel free to make any changes if you want to the app but please share.
Are all these permissions really necessary? I don't think I've ever seen an app asking for so many before....kinda leery about installing it...

Those permission might be due to the fact that those apks use the smart watches in some manner.

That may well be the case, but even if it's something to do with a smartwatch, why would a barometer, compass, flashlight, and stopwatch need to do things like read my messages, modify my contacts, read my bookmarks and web history, modify accounts, or "add or modify calendar events and send email to guests without owner's knowledge" (just as a few examples)?
I'm not saying that the apk is modified or malicious, and I'm not trying to insinuate that the OP (or anyone else) is up to something nefarious or anything like that. But again, why does a barometer, compass, flashlight, and stopwatch need to be able to read (and modify) all my private data and accounts? I'd like a clear explanation from someone more knowledgeable than I of why such all-encompassing permissions are actually needed before I go installing something like that.

As far as I know, those permissions are for the exercise part of the apk which requires the heart rate sensor either on the S5/S5 Active or the Gear.
I can assure you, I just grabbed this apk from the S5 Active firmware
The permissions are so you can share things such as your location, altitude, etc. Nothings modified. Thanks @princeferoz for a great share!

Thanks for the response. Like I said before, I wasn't saying the OP had modified the apk or anything like that, just wanted further clarification. My phone's about to die, but I'll install it as soon as I get it charged up and check it out. Thanks!.

Good to know, thanks.
I am currently using the app called "Permission Manager". I got it since I'm rather frustrated by all the permissions that the apps claim. Why on earth would the Power app - I guess that's the system app controlling the battery - need to know my location? It certainly does not need it to work - I know that since I have all possible location-related settings on my phone switched off. And that's just one example. Every other app wants to read my contacts. And what's up with the "phone identity"? Does a task list really need that? I can scribble a to-do list on a piece of paper and it won't ask for my pen's identity, right?
Anyways, the Permission Manager integrates itself into Settings->Apps. If I click on any app, it would say "App ops" on top of the screen. I have read however, that App Ops have been disabled. Now, this manager is only able to change some of the permissions, not all of them. And it misses the most important one - net access. Perhaps there is a logical reason for the flashlight app to need net access and location information, but I'm not seeing it. That's why I'd like to have an app that will have a white list of things that are allowed to use the network.
So, is there anything more advanced than the Permission Manager? Mind you, my phone is completely stock, not rooted, locked bootloader, etc.
Alright, I've been trying for days different ways to install snapchat on windows phone and I finally figured out a solution that PARTIALLY works. Only chat, stories, and discover - but photo and video taking is NOT enabled. Also, this only works if you have an Astoria build. If you don't, I suggest downgrading using this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/windows-phone-8/general/installed-leaked-windows-10-mobile-t3173000
Instructions:
1. Download and install APKTOW10M (use the search function to find it)
2. Download and install a patched version of snapchat from here: https://mega.nz/#!r1YSWKCJ!A9x3YLLQyOMaTq8be4iaNbrAW4R4ay2QQWW-dQEg4TA
3. Install the apk like normal using the APKTOW10M program (it's pretty simple)
4. Boot up the app and make a new account. This will NOT work if you try to login with an old account. I'm sorry, but those are the current limitations of this method.
5. Whenever the app opens, it will give you an error message about the camera not working. Tap "cancel" and swipe in the appropriate direction (left for chat, right for stories and discover, up for adding contacts, etc). You have to swipe pretty fast after hitting "cancel" or else the notification will pop up again.
This is pretty diminished functionality, but it's something. If anyone has any ideas for getting the camera to work, I'm all ears. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to modify the apk to properly use the camera function?
Dude, really? are you advising "downgrade" knowing this is very risky?
It's time to leave Astoria go away.
I really hope MS will resurrect Astoria, it was so much fun when it was present.
Hi,
Im having a problem not being able to read QR codes from then Bank app to login into it!
Im using a Fairphone 2 with Lineage 16 (microg)
My guess is that then bank app is relying in something missing for reading QR codes. Other apps can read QR codes normally. The default camera of the OS don't read QR codes, either open camera app. could it be that the app is relying on that?
I contacted bank support but they couldn't figure out a way to make it work.
Has someone else have had this problem? any solution?
Thanks!
Can you try installing a camera app from the play store that reads QR codes and set that as your default camera then try the bank app.

That is a good idea. but I couldn't find the way to make a QR reader app be the default camera app. I tried clearing default camera app but then when I trigger the camera button and it asks me to choose an app I can only choose between the default app and Open Camera. From the bank app it even doesnt ask for the camera app to choose, eve when there is no default camera app chosen.
My guess is that the QR code apps that I tried, (Binary eye and SecScanQR) are using the default camera to take the image and then process it but they are not camera apps itself, so i can't choose them to be the default camera apps?. I tried finding another camera apps in the yalp store that supports QR but I couldnt find an alternative.
Any further idea?
Thanks a lot
Did you ever solve this?
I find myself in the same situation now on my Galaxy s9.
If anyone stumbles upon this problem and can't use banking with Swedish BankID,
I've found a workaround.
BankID is happy to accept a "autostarttoken" from a 3d party QR reader as long as it has &redirect= in the link.
I use binary eye... Follow this:
(0. Make sure binary eye is configured to inspect links)
1. Type "&redirect=" anywhere and mark it and copy/cut the text
2. Start a login
3. Read the QR code with binary eye
4. Long press at the end of the link and paste you "&redirect="
5. Press the button in the bottom right of binary eye to open the link.
6. Happy banking!
So I have a BIG problem with the Corona check app. The app crashed suddenly when I try to scan my vaccination QR code. I have several times tried. Eyeaah with Iphone 13 the same App and have ZERO problems. WHY?
Which one do you refer to, CovPass?
No problems here for me, maybe delete and reinstall
CovPass and CovPass check. Both the same. In the moment when I need to scan the QR the apps crashes immediately. I gave them all the permissions manually. Reinstall. Now I need to use Corona Warn app. The oldest but the golden. So for me is the one and only that works with QR code scan.
here in belgium it works without any problem,
covid pass app and the scan app, on android 11 and android 12 beta also on Z Fold 3.

You gotta use the "Corona Warn App"
Does the same as CovPass and is also good to scan Luca QR Codes.
Works like a charm for me.
Install the older version of CovPass, 1.165.6 works.
