Has anyone figured out a way to change the system status bar font style (clock, battery, notification ticker) for stock 5.0+ ROMs?
Tried ifont, font installer, etc. which were able to change fonts used throughout the system, but all of which leave the status bar font unchanged

Fontster did not change font of statusbar, you must change it manually.
Have a look at this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony-themes-apps/changing-sony-stock-5-0-status-bar-font-t3113196/post60853846#post60853846
I might be wrong but this is how my status bar, notification drawer and quick settings with my font of choice using Fonster. This might be due to my modified systemui. Not sure. [emoji6]

I tried Fontster too, didn't work for me. The only thing that worked was to change Roboto-Medium manually to my desired font

As raghavsharmaxda correctly said, status bar and notification bar are the same, but Notification drawer is different
If you are on stock, then the status bar is already transparent by default in TouchWiz launcher in recent 4.2.2 but only for the lockscreen and launcher.
Although if you are on a custom launcher like KitKat then the launcher might have an option to toggle transparent status bar on/off.
If you use modules to manually select the color of the statusbar to 100% transparent there's a good chance that it'll appear white or some other color on it's own depending on the app you are using.
You see apps don't have the color of the status bar defined, they assume your system will do it on it's own.
Advice : if you are using modules to make it transparent, then expect it to be transparent all the time. If you don't want that then simply use the default Touchwiz launcher or a launcher that supports and/or has an option for toggling transparent status bar.

Yes like I said in my last post, using xposed modules will make your status bar transparent for all apps too.
And sorry I don't use any kitkat launchers or intend to. You'll have to try around and experiment with different ones.
I can recommend you Next Launcher, it has option to toggle transparent status bar but it's not even close a kitkat launcher.
AFAIK transparent status bar option on all launchers will only work fine on Kitkat. On JB it will always appear solid (transparent or not) , no transparent gradient.
@iceyhotguy @naufalhadyan Thanks Guyz
How to access the battery coloring options in the newest build? And status bar icons are colorable too right? Where to find it please, thank you AOSPA!

It is up to the themer to color them. They are not user configurable..

I am on i1317m, stock rom, rooted.
I wonder if there is way to change the notification icons to other icon sets? A little boring for the stock ones.
Thanks

Use winrar/7zip or whatever and open the 'systemui.apk', 'framework.apk', and or 'secsettings.apk' from your rom zip file and change the icons in the res folders. Depending on your rom and lcd density settings they can be in any of the res/drawble folders.

Some launchers e.g. Smart Launcher have a option to normalize icons. OP launcher is missing this option as far as I know.
How about some unified Icon Pack e.g. Whicons?
Icon Pack alone should fix the size problem.
Any way to theme the system settings and WAS pulldown bar? It's sort of possible with Substratum, but the icons and text on the QS remain black, while the system settings is unaffected except for the icons.

To change background of the quick settings you can use XQS Background (Xposed module).
Also you can change text in settings by using Custom Text (Xposed module too).

It really works with LG UI? I just installed XQS, but I need to get back to work or I'll be late. Thanks!

XQS Background doesn't do colors, just images you provide. And the only options are transparency. Which is actually not bad, considering it does look pretty cool now. I'd prefer a material design though, with white icons and text. Wish there was some way to do that with both quick settings and the system settings menu.
