Htc desire 616 (development and C.W.M & T.W.R.P CUSTOM RECOVERY )

HELLO! FOLKS
WELCOME TO MY THREAD
NOTE: DO THE BELOW MENTIONED PRACTICES ON YOUR OWN, I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING
FIRST THINGS FIRST
MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE ANYTHING YOU DO NEXT.
PROCEDURE:- (works for STOCK as well as CUSTOM Recoveries)
i) Switch Off your phone.
ii) Press VOLUME_DOWN & Power Button simultaneously for a few seconds till you see the screen.
iii) Press VOLUME_DOWN key till '<<==' is in front of [Recovery Mode]
iv) Press VOLUME_UP to enter ANDROID SYSTEM RECOVERY <3e>
v) Now press VOLUME_DOWN key till backup user data is highlighted.
vi) Press Power button to take a BACKUP
ROOT THIS DEVICE.
GO TO THIS WEBSITE
1. DOWNLOAD THE SOFTWARE.
2. INSTALL IT. WELL THIS SOFTWARE IS IN CHINESE.
3. DON'T WORRY!
4. JUST CLICK THE ROUND ROOT BUTTON AND WAIT.
5. AFTER 1 - 2 MINUTES YOUR HTC 616 WILL BE ROOTED
6. REBOOT IT AND ENJOY.

INSTALLING CWM RECOVERY
1. first of all make NANDROID BACKUP
2. Your Mobile Must be ROOTED.
3. MTK DROID TOOL v2.5.3 [DOWNLOAD]
4. Then follow this VIDEO TUTORIAL

STOCK ROM
HEAD OVER TO NEEDROM AND DOWNLOAD THE STOCK ROM FOR HTC 616
FLASHING THE STOCK ROM
DOWNLOAD SP FLASH TOOL
AND THEN FOLLOW THIS VIDEO THANKS TO THE MAKER :good:

No.. my friend.. but i'm trying to.
There are numerous methods on youtube to install CWM on to this device.
Xposed framework can only be installed with a working CWM.. I will update it as soon as i find something usefull.

Stuck In Bootloop, Any help Appreciated!!
Hello there, I got this phone a couple of days ago, today i rooted it and without doing any research and without taking a backup, installed the Xposed Framework. My phone is UNUSABLE as of now. If you're wondering why, its because HTC Desire 616 dual sim uses a Mediatek MT6592 Chipset which is incompatible with Xposed. Know more here
I tried Flashing the Xposed-Disabler-Recovery.zip via SD card & via ADB but for some reason both of them failed with "Installation Aborted". This is very very very irritiating.
Options I have:
1) Use CWM or any other NON-Stock Recovery Tool to flash the Xposed-Disabler-Recovery.zip
2) Flash the Stock Rom again.
These are the problems::
1) We dont have CWM for our phone.
=> But there is some hope. They claim to have a tool to create CWM for our chipset if we have a rooted phone. Now i cant do it beacause my phone is not working But YOU CAN TRY. If it works please upload the flashable zip. I will be very very thankful.
2) The STOCK ROM for HTC DESIRE 616 DUAL SIM is not available anywhere on the internet.
=> If you can take a couple minutes to backup your STOCK ROM using recovery and upload it anywhere on the internet and share the link, things can get back to normal for me. I'm really not happy using a basic NOKIA phone now.
Don't know how to take a backup using Android Stock Recovery?
i)Switch Off your phone.
ii) Press VOLUME_DOWN & Power Button simultaneously for a few seconds till you see the screen.
iii) Press VOLUME_DOWN key till '<<==' is in front of [Recovery Mode]
iv) Press VOLUME_UP to enter ANDROID SYSTEM RECOVERY <3e>

vi) Press Power button to take a backup
Make sure you have enough space on your sd card for the backup.

Hah.. i know how to take backup my friend.
Don't worry about it. U will get the backup tomorrow. It is of about 320 mb. I will provide u the link here in this thread tomorrow. So, be happy and u dont have use that nokia phone.

Firstly thanks a lot for replying this fast. I wanted to see if i could use some other recovery to flash the Xposed disabler zip to not lose all the present apps/etc. I didnt think factory resetting would help the issue because the framework made changes in system files. But i'll check it now. In that case you wont have to upload the Backup. But then again somebody else might ask it some other day, so it'll still be useful.

The phone is now on, after factory reset.
Maybe now we can get on with further development.

This method helps create CWM for MTK devices but the phone should be rooted for it to work
This tool is also very helpful, it can do many things one of which is change the default recovery.
You can follow the video on this page
Now for xposed framework, we have the Aliyun OS problem for which this thread is helpful. He claims it is working.
Now its just a matter of time before one of us does it.!
Make sure to backup the stock rom and recovery

I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY MANAGED TO INSTALL CWM (CLOCKWORK RECOVERY)
ON MY HTC 616.

Sure.. but that's the problem..
I dont have that much data..
But i will manage it.. its about 1.20GB ROM BACKUP
and CWM 16 MB. so expect CWM first.

Use MTK DROID TOOL instead of CWM MAGIC. :thumbup:
Note: there a new system update aired for HTC 616. so, make sure to update before anything u do.
And the cwm installation process will take 30 - 45 minutes. :banghead:

Disable write protection.

My HTC desire 820 is rooted.
I want to make some change is in my system file.
I tried all methods.(remount as r/w)
After making changes I reboot my device.
But after reboot,the files are as it was before editing.

Same specs but no md5 verification requests, maybe were disabled.

I don't know if there's a way to go s-off for your specific phone model yet nor i have tried it.You could try a search .
But u also might like to look for custom roms ,in which there is the ability to modify things without going s-off.Which file(s) you actually want to modify buddy?

No need to s-off and pay 25$ to Sunshine just for that .Better go for a custom rom and benefit from the devs optimisations too.

One place you could go ,find and download your specific rom.zip from is here :

After dl finished , rename it to OPFJIMG..zip and copy to root of your sd card .Then just boot in fastboot mode and it will auto-instal itself.
ps. in case name "OPFJIMG" won't work ,then try "OPFJ10000".
But for all this to work ,you must first have re-installed, the original htc recovery through adb.

816w was not update

Everytime system show me New update available so I have download that file but it's doesn't install the update .
My sense virson is 5.5

are you rooted and unlocked? because if you are, you can 't update your phone that way

after you update, you can flash custom recovery and root again

that's possible, but after full unroot, you'll still have your custom recovery..
after flashing stock recovery you'll have to relock bootloader too

I don't know that.
BTW is your phone the Chinese edition? if so you'll have to search for files specific to the Chinese variant in the forums

I'm not able to flash superSU nor able to flash a custom recovery or rom or unlock my boot loader
Help me unlock bootloader; custom recovery and flashing SUPERSU.
I've heard about winDroid android utility kit.
What's about it and is it working.
Please give me your own methods which you have tried auccessfullly.
Your help would be appericiated.

I haven't tried Windroid yet but I have rooted and installed custom CWM recovery thrice with MTK Droid Tools.:good:

Check this for full description on how to manually create and Install CWM on this device.
Before doing so, Connect your phone and after detection, click on ROOT button to root and install SU in the device.

HTC 820 stuck in bootloop after update 6.0

Helo Guys,
i have HTC 820 dual sim D820u India
i upgraded my mobile to Android 6.0. then it suddenly switched off when i tried to click a pic with the camera.
now it is stuck in bootloop.
i can access recovery.
but whenever i select and press factory reset, and recovery it gets restart. and again stuck in bootloop. im not able to do factory reset.
please tell me what to do.
mobile was unrooted.
