After installing Nova Launcher my phone keeps searching for location constantly. I know it's the launcher, because it never did this before. If I uninstall the launcher then the problem stops. I like this launcher so I thought I would ask about this here and see if anyone has any solutions before uninstalling it and getting another one.
Thanks.

I installed launcherpro, deleted the settings of HTC sense, pressed home, checked the "remeber this setting" and chosed launcherpro, so it's the new default launcher.
However, after opening an application and returning to the home screen, it keeps asking me to chose between launcherpro and sense again.
With home switcher installed the same issue keeps happening. After a while it shows me there isn't a default launcher selected.
Does anyone know a solution? I'm getting really frustrated...
Bump!
I have the same problem..
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I still haven't found a solution. I'm considering flashing a non-Sense ROM, but then again, I don't feel like going into flashing again (and again, and again)
So, if someone could help us out, please!
Ok here's the solution:
Flash your phone with Android Revolution HD 2.0.9 without Sense
A bit drastic, I admit. But holy crap that ROM is fast!

Click to collapse
First, clear defaults from both HTC Sense and Launcher Pro (evt. clear cache or any other data). Then when prompted choose Launcher Pro as your default.
Alternately, you can try to freeze (not uninstall) HTC sense by using Titanium backup.
Hi Friends, I'm MohamaD from Iran. I'v this problem in my device since yesterday when I Installed Windows 7 Launcher. and I have found a solution for it by changing the Memory Card. If anyone knows another way to solve this please post it here. Whatever it is... it relevance to Memory card.
i've also face same problem..
it keep prompting for default launcher even have clear default for hundreds time. BTW i'm using go launcher as the alternate launcher.
really appreciate some guide/advice on this.
I recently ish out lollipop on my kindle fire. And truly recently decided it was time to attempt to make it look better with a Launcher. Saw adw first and quite liked it. But attempted to add a widget and after clicking on the widget it would simply open the settings page (the default settings page). So I tried a couple other launchers and had the same issue. Tried googling but anything that I found didn't seem to have a solution or didn't change anything on my end.
Figured I would come and see if anyone had possible solutions for me. Or even if anyone has ran into this issue themselves.
Thanks!
Hey guys, I'm stumped here. I just got a new phone (BLU Vivo 5R w/ Marshmallow 6.0) yesterday. I had a BLU Vivo XL (wiith Lollipop 5.1) before this and have been running Nova Launcher Prime on it with no issues at all, but after I relaunched it on my new phone this morning, I can't get ANY of my widgets to work (keeps saying "application error. Unfortunately, Settings has stopped") and on the Tesla Unread Count list, when I try to enable count badges for my Outlook app and Google Voice app, they both give me the same error message. I've never had this issue before, and the widgets work fine if I switch back to the stock CareFree Launcher, so it has to be something in the Nova Launcher. I even uninstalled the Nova Launcher, then reinstalled it to default settings, but it still made no difference. Can someone help me with this? I really love Nova Launcher, but if it's gonna give me problems now, I'll have to find another one
Maybe try older version or email the developer he or she may help you
Older version of what? The OS, the widgets, or the launchers? I emailed Nova and BLU about it. Nova said it's something with that phone's hardware and Marshmallow. BLU has not responded yet. One interesting thing though. Just this morning, I decided to try another launcher, so I grabbed C Launcher, and it works perfectly so far. Very interesting that it does what it's supposed to, but the other launchers I've tried do not( Nova, Apex, Action, CMLauncher, Evie).
I like the Nova launcher, particularly that is displays the apps drawer icon, displays the apps alphabetically and allows backups but every day or so I wake up to find the widgets and same few app icons have disappeared from the home screen making me need to reload or restart them.
Nova weren't particularly helpful in saying it's a known Xiaomi issue and contact them direct. The Xiaomi launcher doesn't allow backups and they seem to have removed the app drawer. Anyone know a launcher that Xiaomi can work with? Many thanks.
I've always used nova with miui roms and i never noticed any strange behavior. But i don't use widgets.
So after some time I decided to go with the 12.5 GLOBAL update which then gave me immediate problems like apps not rendering at all, general UI hanging, lagging or not responding, black wallpaper and lock screen and change of launcher.
So I re-enabled and re-installed most apps from Xiaomi adb/fastboot tool and most problems are now gone away.
But Nova Launcher which is the launcher I used mainly before update is nowhere to be seen. It was not to be seen in the home screen selection screen when hitting the home button, or via settings (while other launchers I installed were to be shown) and not even on the apps list. Trying to reinstall from Google Play show a message which says google play cannot install Nova Launcher. Trying to sideload APKs of several versions did not work either.
Anyone else experience this problem ? is it Xiaomi that decided to block this specific launcher ?
