Missing Google search in task switcher - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I switched the task switcher from grid view to card view but it is missing the Google search box. Any idea how to make it show up?
Thx, Andreas

Is anyone else missing the search in card view, too?

It doesn't show up in card view. That's one difference between card and grid

But it should according to this stock Lollipop screenshot:

Search re-appered after I reboot. ?

Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Someone allready posted apk links to them in vibrant forums, use search.
I take no credit. Found these in the Vibrant forum

ahh well, i searched beforehand, obviously not that thoroughly. sorry.
Looked at the permissions for the desk home app, holy cow, there isn't anything it can't access/do. Absolutely no way I am installing that from a Mediafire link, will use market enabler and try to get it from the market. Not saying the Mediafire one has been tampered with, but I don't want to take the chance considering what it says it can do to my phone.
but the car home does not show the same icons and in the commecials. I dont have navigation and voice search (and that way the whole idea with the theme i guess)
google navigation is not available in sweden, but voice search is i believe?
Has anyone found any hidden settings for changing the icons to for example copilot?

i just pressed search and the little microphone came up next to the text input box, and as for google maps, i dunno if you can change the links, but do a search for car dock v2, apparently it is customisable.
Is it possible to set this to default dock app and prevent a screen timeout?
Just get "Car Dock V2" from the market. It's free and way better.

I'm using Froyo is this why?
FC in JPH (froyo). Someone got it to run properly?
I downloaded the two files from this thread, but how do I install them? My phone doesn't find the .apk, but I see that it's a win-zip file. Do I have to convert them to .apk or what?
Just rename to .apk - use something like es file explorer to install it.
How? The filename is com.samsung.tmo.carhome.test.apk.

Install Astro on your phone free from market. Plug usb in to computer and put that file on your SD card. Open Astro and navigate to that file and click it.

[Q] LauncherPro dock icon customisation without Gallery3d. Possible?

I've been trying to replace the Gallery app with Just Pictures.
However I use LauncherPro and when using it to change the default icons in the dock, LauncherPro defaults to the Gallery app.
When the Gallery app is not installed, it claims there are no pictures on the phone at all.
Anyone know a solution?
I was wondering about this also... but about Picture Folder, so I've contacted the developer if he could somehow add an option to set default wallpaper or that is shown in this menu, but didn't get an answer.
It's related to the framework of SGS i guess, but i'm pretty sure someone knows something about this and i've already used the search button and couldn't get an answer.
So if maybe somebody knows anything about this, could you please share the info, or at least point us to the right direction
EDIT:
Picture Folder has been updated and is now called QuickPic and it has an option to set wallpaper, but it's still not shown in LP for icon selection...

How to edit icon labels/text?

Sorry, this is such a simple question. But it seems that anyone wanting an answer to this question has not found it entirely. I want to do this to shorten some icon names due to shortage of space, etc. Or maybe just a more descriptive label (ok, maybe just to me ). I mean how hard can it be? I just want to change the text, not the icon. I'm interested in procedures or apps. If you can help me, thank you.
Have you tried go launcher
From the 2nd galaxy

Yes, Go Launcher allows you to rename your app icons. It's an awesome launcher in terms of customization.
On Nova it's a long press and hit edit. My favorite launcher btw...

Wow, that worked, "S Planner" now is Calendar. (How the name change to S Planner got thru qa I dont know).
Next bit of the problem is that I have shortcut icons that when pressed ask for which browser. In desktop visualizer I need to pick the application. I cant find the 'shortcut' app. Hope this makes sense...
Desktop Visualizer is good

Widget that rotates photos

Hi all
My stock S3 came with a nice widget that rotated photos from a folder on my SD card, but I lost in when switching to CM10
I have multiple photo folders I'd like to add
Do you know of any widget apps (paid or free) that will allow me to select multiple folders to include into the rotation ??
Thanks in advance

The PhotoGallery widget that's part of the google gapps does this. Well, it lets you pick one album, or shuffle all.
Thanks
Sorry if I wasn't clear, but I meant one that rotates the photos automatically (without having to scroll down)
Not a big deal but was just curious

The Google Photo Album / Gallery doesn't automatically scroll through photos. This is one missed App from TW. I also like the S Planner app but the Wizz Apk is suffice for now.

[Q] Missing dropbox shortcut and bookmark widgets?

Usually, I can install a widget into the home page that is a shortcut into a specific dropbox folder, but it doesn't seem to appear in the list of widgets on the Z1 Compact using the stock launcher. (Yes, I have installed dropbox.) Also, there isn't a single icon bookmark shortcut listed amongst the widgets, possibly because the Z1C doesn't ship with the stock Android browser? Any ideas on either of these? Thanks!
Open the launcher settings-select apps then select shortcuts. On that part you should be able to see what your looking for.
