My Desire (Orange Uk) decided to stop vibrating the other day. Nothing could make it vibrate - I tried emailing it, changing the profile to vibrate-only, locking the phone and moving my finger over the little circles to unlock (the phone usually vibrates a little as you pass over each one), phoning voicemail (the phone vibrates as a call is answered) and powering off and on. Then, suddenly, about 15 mins after I powered on it started working again. Has anyone else had this? Perhaps you have a quicker way of getting it working again?
Update: Since then, it refuses to vibrate for phone calls/text messages/emails. I'm told I can do a factory reset and that might fix it. I don't really want to, though - not every time this happens. Any one else had this and managed to fix it?
OK have had my phone for a week, no issues until today. Only thing I have done is unlocked the phone, no root and still on stock 4.0.2
I went to make a call, and it rang, but went right to speakerphone, and the whole screen went grey, could not choose anthing like end call, or get off speakerphone, then phone rebooted.
Happened 3 times in a row, everytime phone rebooted, and went to make a call, it reboots.
Do you think unlocking the phone would cause this? Should i relock it and exchange or any other ideas?
Thanks

I would go from any of the home screens to Settings/Apps/All/Phone/Clear Data. Then reboot the phone and try making calls again.
If that doesn't fix the issue, I would 1) backup all the stuff on my sdcard that I wanted to keep (pictures, music, etc.) to my computer, 2) from a home screen go Settings/Backup & Reset and select Factory Data Reset.
Additional Notes: Make sure Backup and Restore are checked in the Privacy setting. When going through the setup after the reset, turn on wifi as soon as you can (assuming it is available). After you have entered your Gmail account info, you will be presented with a screen that has two check boxes. Basically they are "Do you want Google to backup and restore this phoneā€¯. Make sure you check both of those. Your apps will then automatically reinstall (paid and free). Set the phone aside for a minute or two and let the apps download and install.
If none of that fixes the issue, contact Verizon.
Good luck.
Thanks...well does this make sense.
Before I read your reply i assumed this would have to be exchanged. So first thing I did was hook it up to my PC, use adb to restart it in bootloader.
Then locked it again. and hit start.
Now when I open phone, i can make calls no issues.
So relocking fixed it? But why? This is also bothers me, becuase I bought the phone to be able to customize and now not sure if unlocking will cuases these problems in the future.
Does anyone know what changes relocking does? trying to figure out why that fixed it.

My guess is that the reboot fixed it, not the re-lock.
Good luck.

Yeah but it rebooted everytime i tried to make a call?
I saw the google logo and the lock, and then flashy animation and had to wait a minute or so before phone booted up.
it locked up like that 5-6 times in a row until I decided to relock it.
Oh yeah. Let's count that as my brain fart for today.

Not sure if i should try and relocking..or just exchange it.
it could have been coincidence that it worked after relock. because after relock i don't really think it does much?
I only have 5 days left before I can return and exchange. Also now i cant replicate it.
Hello,
first of all I want to say hello to this active community. I have been a reader for a long time.
today I have experienced a strange bug with still persist. I am running a Samsung Galaxy Nexus and recently change the screen lock from pattern to PIN.
Today I have unlocked the screen via PIN multiple times, but now the PIN is suddenly not working.
I called Samsung support and they told me to send the phone to them. They think it is a bug since I can enter the PIN unlimited times and the phone does NOT get blocked.
Is there a way to do a reset? What can i do? I am a bit helpless at the moment.
I have read that a hard reset/ wipe does not overwrite the PIN. Whats my best bet to access the phone again?
After the OTA update my phone occasionally gets stuck in a quasi mute when I undock it. It's weird. Mute isn't selected but the volume is all the way down and no matter what I do, it stays that way. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I tried a factory reset and the same thing happens.
here's a link to the dock I have. http://goo.gl/YfUd4x
Galaxy note 2 AT&T running 4.3, rooted, KNOX disabled, stock recovery.
Any help or insight is deeply appreciated.
hey all, new to the forums and looking for some help. I think I'm screwed tho lol.
Bought an S20 Ultra from a website I've used before, used but seemed legit. Got the phone and it is stuck on the pin lock screen, says phone is locked. I can't seem to get a refund which is awesome because i bought it as is.
Cannot swipe up or down. Only able to go into emergency calls screen. Can't shut the phone off without a force restart as it says "pin required." I cannot get the phone to go into recovery mode or any boot modes. It just restarts and loads right to the pin unlock screen. I'm lost. Pretty sure I have a $500 paperweight now. Anyone know of a way to reset this thing? I would return it to its owner but I don't know where or how. Thanks

Well, you will need a laptop or desktop with Samsung drivers install and Odin. Download latest firmware for s20 ultra and flash but if "dev options" have not be turned on this may fail. You just need to reset your phone to remove pin. By this being the latest Samsung device, no one has probably even tried, or try a smart phone store that makes OS repairs. It can be done.

From the IMEI, I found that the model number is SM-G988UZKEATT. Should these files still work? I greatly appreciate the help!!
