[Q] Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML MODEL ASUS_ZOOAD 3g - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I need help, i want to buy a zenfone 2 from alegrecompra, but i dont know if the version Z00AD support 3G wcdma, i live in latin america.
Does anyone has bought this version?

I made a similar question but nobody answered.
I understand that if your buying it from a Chinese based site you will get the CN version.
CN version definitely lacks many LTE bands support compared to TW or WW version, but apparently it supports the same WCDMA bands as the others, and, on top of that, it also supports TD-CDMA bands only useful in China, but never got any confitmation first hand, only real way to tell for sure would be if someone with that CN version confirms they get WCDMA coverage with a provider using the same bands as your company...
It would be wiser to get the TW version instead but its harder to find an online store selling it apart from eBay sellers and also it should be a bit more expensive I guess...

H+ 3G WCDMA 2100 on CN version working confirmed. Haven't tested the other bands, but if 2100 is working the other ones should be too.

Thanks! I think its safe to assume then that WCDMA support is same across all regional versions...

Work here in Mauritius but not on all operator. One operator it show the H but download is 2G

It works on 3G WCDMA, I just bought the CN version and it working on band 1900.

@OP
I suggest you buy the Zenfone 2 that you mentioned in your post. That is an America Version that can be used in Latin America as well.
IMHO, do not buy the China or Taiwan Variants as those were specifically for Asian Continent.
Good Luck.

The only Freq/band that the Z00AD (WW) doesn't support that the US version supports is 700 MHz/Band 17 -- there are some South/Central American providers that use that frequency, but not many.
Here's the breakdown of frequencies from the ASUS site:

[Q] LTE support

hi, does anyone getting LTE support in his country?
did someone from Israel buy this phone?
i ordered ze551 4Gb/64Gb, and i am really nervous about the LTE support.
please ack.
thanks a lot.
I have the WW ZE551 and have LTE on T-Mobile in MO, USA. (I also had a TW model and worked LTE as well. No bluetooth though so that is why I returned it.)
Thanks, i wonder, if the CN version has the same bands for LTE as we do at Israel, will it work?
Hello,
CN version:
FDD-LTE: (CN/IN version)
2100MHz(1)/1800MHz(3)
TDD-LTE: (CN/IN version)
2600MHz(38)/1900MHz(39)/2300MHz(40)/2500MHz(41)
It looks like Israel is on band 3, so you should be good. No guarantees of course. Let us know how it turns out.
Sure, thanks for the reply[emoji106] [emoji106]
Finally got my zf2! Got CN version with WW firmware and LTE is working here at Israel

Does the ZF2 (USA Model) have AWS(1700/2100) Band for 3G/HSPA (not LTE)?

As above, does the ZF2 (USA Model) have AWS(1700/2100) Band for 3G/HSPA (not LTE)?
I'm getting conflicting specs from various sources, but most of them seem to indicate that the AWS(1700/2100) Band is for LTE only and not 3G/HSPA. Am I correct?
I think you are correct. I usually go by the specs in GSM arena, and they indicate the same.

I think it does have AWS on 3g, I did a chat with ASUS before and they said it does support it and said their website was outdated
Hi. Just wanted to tell that I bought a Zenfone 2 about 2 weeks ago from amazon and it DOES work perfectly with AWS on 3G (UMTS/HSPA) (I have a subscription with Nextel Chile and they only use AWS, if there is no signal it will start roaming (happened a few times in an underground, and when it does it shows an R next to the signal bar).
I bought an international unlocked version of the phone from amazon while I was in the States (almost returned it bc I saw a few posts saying that it had no support for AWS). The exact link to the amazon page where I bought it is the following: http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-ZenFone-...UTF8&qid=1433552355&sr=1-1&keywords=zenfone+2
If you check the amazon description, it DOES say that it support AWS (it lists UMTS/HSPA bands 1700/2100 which is a common way to call the AWS band).
Still, YMMV and although it worked perfectly for me, I'm not giving you any warranty.
If there's a way to check the current band my phone is using, I'd be interested in checking this out and posting a picture.
It has B4 HSPA according to FCC (great for T-Mobile and Wind).

I am using the ww version in Canada and works on wind mobile aws perfectly.

Here in Canada, the Wind Mobile network is exclusively AWS(1700/2100) Band IV for 3G/HSPA.
My Zenfone 2 is working perfectly on the network.
PS. There is no US version of the phone, only the North American version.

[Q] X9000 china version

I just received my new Oppo Find 7a from Oppomart and was shocked to see that they sent me the China version (x9000). They don't even offer that version on the website! I ordered the x9007 and emailed Oppomart support about this. They replied:
"sorry, since the phone from us was sent from China, it was not the international version., but before we send the phone, we have told you that the phone support GSM: 850/900/1800/1900MHz, WCDMA: 850/900/1900/2100MHz, FDD-LTE: 1800 /2100 /2600MHz"
Is there are hardware difference between the x9000 and x9007? It looks like it might be just a different version of Color OS on the same hardware.
Do rooting and ROMs apply the same to both x9000 and x9007?

Hello,
I am in the same situation as you and I ask myself the same questions. I purchased from the same vendor as well. From everything I've seen on the internet (except thou me confirms ) the X9000 should be only then that WCDMA as confirmed by my packaging and use, it is also 4G !
The phone is updated to v1.2.9 ColorOS but does not switch to upgrade to 2.x : you too ?
I could root with Kingroot.
I was able to install TWRP but not install 2.8.0.1 2.8.7.2 .
I will be very curious if you're in the same point as me.
Thank you in advance.
KlnCdc
Ps : sorry for my bad english, i'm french and i use Google Translate for my message.
I also bought it recently from Oppomart, and they also sent me the X9000 version. But when i flashed TWRP and backed up the original partitions, the file created was named the "X9007".
Plus, i also have 4G with Free mobile.
So yeah, it's the X9007, basically.

X9007(X9077) for china mobile
X9000(X9070) for China unicom
their 3G have Big different
and 4G have little different
X9007 (X9077)can't use FD1800 in china by a software seal
(can use in roaming)
and it can be unlock that by software
so X9007(X9077) is little expensive than X9000(X9070) in china
the baseband of X90x0 and X90x7 is different
so the ROM/recovery is not common
unless builder say the ROM support ALL variants

Zenfone 2 US/Japan Compatibility

Hi guys,
(I tried searching this and so far no answers)
I want to buy an unlocked Zenfone 2 ZE551ML.
In the US, the price is nice at $299 (for the 64GB). In Japan it's over $500 (OK, with the exchange rate it's a little less, but...).
(Sorry, the site is preventing me from including external links)
http colon //goo dot gl/ss7hV8
The problem I am having is finding out if it's truly compatible with Japanese and US carriers. I would like to take this thing back and forth.
The frequencies look right, but on all the AusTek documentation is says (JP Version) near the 4G FDD-LTE frequencies. Do the major carriers in Japan use some variant of FDD-LTE that is different from the US? Or is this only a marketing strategy?
The only difference I have seen in the past on Japanese phones is that here they always come with a TV Antennae built in for Digital Japanese TV and the freakin' Carrier charges a monthly fee for the TV app! Haha
Here's the information from Asus Japan (open it in Chrome and it will translate the Japanese for you, albeit badly):
http colon //goo dot gl/3zo5E3
Decent worldwide Frequency list:
http colon //goo dot gl/EuOKoy
Anyone try this out between the US and Japan?
Thanks in advance.
The US version is the WW version with one more band available (Band 12 I think which is used by AT&T in the US). Weird that the US version has more Bands than the World Wide version. So if the WW version works in Japan, the the US version will as well.
Thank you for your quick response!
I just really want to make sure that there aren't different versions of FDD-LTE frequencies. Some kind of encoding that's different or something. The thing that keeps throwing me is that on all the specification lists from Asus for the Japanese versions it says "(JP Version)" next to FDD-LTE.
From the Asustek Japan website:
2G :
EDGE/GSM :
850/900/1800/1900,
3G :W-CDMA 800(6)/850(5)/900(8)/1900(2) /2100(1)MHz
4G :
FDD-LTE: (JP version)
2100MHz(1)/1900MHz(2)/1800MHz(3)/1700/2100MHz(4)/850MHz(5)/800MHz(6)/900MHz(8)/1700MHz(9)/800MHz(18)/800MHz(19)/700MHz(28)

I also looked on the wiki article of LTE bands and I don't see any special notes for LTE in Japan so it's probably fine.

If it's any help, I am using in Japan using a ww ZE550ML bought from Expansys. I use it with an OCN sim (so it's on the docomo network). It works fine as it has the main docomo LTE band (band 1). The only problem is there are a few signal blackspots where it would be better with the so-called "platinum band" (I forget which band, but it is one my phone doesn't have).
I think I will try it out. I spend a most of my time in Tokyo and only some time in Kyoto and Nagano.
I made a spreadsheet of the carriers and different phone variants. The only LTE bands the Japanese variant has that the WW version does not are:
Docomo uses band 19
Softbank uses band 8
But the rest overlap.
For 3G W-CDMA both phones have 2100 so it should work fine.
Thanks for your input
Yeah, it has 3G 2100 but not 800, so 3G can also be a bit patchy. Not having LTE 19 is mostly only a problem inside big concrete buildings. On docomo LTE Band 1 2100 is the main band so mostly you'll be fine. Highly recommend OCN Mobile One as a carrier - dirt cheap, really flexible, solid service (NTT group, so seems like docomo don't screw them over).

HTC 10 International Version with AT&T (M10H)

Will it work with the LTE bands?
The seller on eBay say's it fully works with AT&T and T-Mobile?
HTC 10h (International version) WILL NOT work on US LTE bands
If you go to this page: htc. com / uk / smartphones / htc-10
scroll to the bottom where the specs are and look under "Network" you will see the differences between the radio bands supported by the International/Asia and the America versions of the phone. The International version DOES NOT support all of the 4G LTE bands used by ATT in the US.
This page shows the LTE bands used in the US by major carriers. phonearena. com / news / Cheat-sheet-which-4G-LTE-bands-do-AT-T-Verizon-T-Mobile-and-Sprint-use-in-the-USA_id77933
LTE band 5 is on both models of the phone, and band 5 is used in some very limited areas of the US, (but not enough to make it worth having a regional only phone at this cost, and the newest LTE uses dual-bands so that technology wouldn't work for you either).
If you live in the US, you absolutely want the US model of this phone if you expect 4G LTE and newer technologies to work for you over a wide area.
Hope this helps someone... I got suckering into ordering an International version off Amazon and it would not work on AT&T 4G LTE in my area (band 2).
Better to order the US version directly from HTC.
Does the opposite work? I mean, does the US version work in Europe or not?
I'm asking because the color I want is only available in the US and I live in Europe.

You should check which LTE bands your European carrier is using. Just google it "What LTE band does [your carrier] use in [your country/city]."
The US version supports all LTE bands except 8 (Saudi Arabia) and 32 (no idea where that's used..). en. wikipedia. org / wiki / List_of_LTE_networks

Hi I'd like to know if the US unlocked version of the HTC 10 (that you can order by the official HTC USA site) works on the Italian networks: band 3(1800MHz), 7(2600MHz), 20(800MHz);
so if I buy this phone and I do it to ship from America I can use it in Italy with any networks problem or restriction.
I'm very interested to know this, thank you.

Are you saying the M10H won't work with T-Mobile LTE? Im prepared to S-OFF and install whatever. The vendor listing has the US LTE freqs listed. Is that innacurate?

m10h will not support 2/4/12 unless you convert to US unlocked. I have m10h and am on US unlocked. I seem to pickup 4/12 in some parts of the country, but have yet to see band 2. I'm also skeptical that I get all of band 4, I'm thinking I only get certain frequencies of Band 4.
So which version should I buy to use on AT&T in California?

Are you on T-Mobile? Have you used device in Colorado? I have my M10h coming today, I might just keep it with limited LTE and spring for the US Unlocked version from HTC, keeping the M10h as test dummy for my arm64 Debian experiments...

Yes, tmob. I have used the device in NC, VA, MD, DC, NJ, and NYC. Only in NC and parts of VA can I not get LTE where I should be.
