I recently switch from Iphone to LG G3. Really liking it. Rooted and still on OEM Rom.
When I was using Iphone the bluetooth system had a feature that would interrupt whatever was playing similar to a phone call coming in. This could be used for nav directions, text notifications, etc. My G3 does not have this feature and the only way to hear the prompts is if I am actively on Bluetooth source. From what I have been able to find Android does not have this feature either. Does anyone know of anything similar or a workaround that would offer this feature?
Thank you

Can you be more specific? My G3, along with my past android devices, will pause or turn down the music for a notification sound /navigation to play. Some apps have more control as to how they interrupt or are interrupted.

Has anyone else experienced the flowing BT issues with jelly bean?
1. Can't make any 3rd party dialer apps the default without completely disabling google search
2. Built in voice dialer so bad its unusable when used with bluetooth
3. Cant use the center button to activate any voice functions except built in voice dialer. No google search.
4. If you answer a call while listening to media then after hangup media resumes again at zero volume?
5. If you are a heavy BT user like myself are you happy with JB?
None of the above were issues with my sony mw600 on ICS.
I haven't tried the others, but I do have issues 2 and 3. They have been reported on here multiple times, but no solution yet.

If its convenient could you try #4. I'd like some confirmation that I'm not alone.
I can't even get jb to see my hands free
Same problem.
It looks like Google messed up the Bluetooth functionality.
Voice Search is useless.
I purchased voice speed dial and now it can't be activated using the BT button or the center button.
What's interesting is that "Voice Search" that came preinstalled does work with the BT button unless I disable it.

Actually I did get mine to work. You have to first disable google search which basically nullifies all of the new JB features on the phone.
There are only 2 or 3 devices that officially have jelly bean at this point. As more devices come over the complaining will certainly rise. Wait and see. I think this is a pretty big deal.

re: #4 - I don't have a problem resuming media playback after a phonecall over bluetooth. I do however get a 5 or so second lagwhen connected to my car's audio system... Maybe that's what's causing it? Have you tried waiting a few seconds to see if it plays?
I have an issue since 4.0.4 where my MW600 is lagging, audio from games and notifications is lagging 1-2 seconds... In calls and videos played with the built in video player, audio plays just fine, no lag... In my iPad 2, Nokia E51, Motorola Milestone, the same headset also works just fine, no lag perceived in any scenario....

No, I don't think it lags although its possible because volume level goes to zero and I can't hear a thing until I raise it again. It seems like the media starts again upon phone hang up, you just can't hear it a zero volume. I am using an mw600 bluetooth headset.

Agreed. Priority is only medium at this point. Need a lot more posts.
Hey guys,
Just got my M8 last week and I love it, but there's one thing so far that has been bugging me. When either playing or streaming music via BT in the car or via headphones at the gym/home, I've noticed that my notification sounds will not come through. Every other android phone (or iphone) that I've owned that I can remember has always attenuated the music for a second to play the notification sound. So far, I have not been able to figure out how to get my M8 to do this. It doesn't even vibrate to let me know I have a text/email/whatever... at best, I'll look down at the phone and the notification light will be blinking.
So, can anyone point me in the right direction to get this feature working again?
Also, FYI - I'm on the stock, rooted ROM with Xposed installed and s-off

I actually like it like , I noticed it right away. I did look around all the phones settings even in the dev section and didn't see any settings to change the behavior.
Mine kinda does the same thing.
It just cuts the music for a second but i believe its because i use PowerAmp.
i'm still aware of getting a notification, just through slience.lol

Ok, I've had the F400S for about a week now, and it's rooted and pimped up a bit with XPosed and GravotyBox.
I'm wondering:
1) Is there any way to change the [Settings > Shortcut key] settings? I would like to set holding volume up to open something else.
2) I listen to podcasts (through headphones) more than anything else on the phone. Right now, pressing play on the headphones with no audio app loaded will load Music app. I would instead like to default to my podcast app (Pocket Casts). It seems this default setting can't be done openly/officially, so I'm wondering if there's a nerdier way to do it.
3) Is anyone else having issue with the built in quite hours function? [Settings > Sound > Quiet Mode] For me, it starts ok, switches to silent and no led, but it doesn't return to normal after the time range ends.
4) I would like to disable or freeze most the LG and korean apps. Are there any that I shouldn't because it is known to cause problems? Normally I would experiment through trial and error, but because there's no ClockworkMod Recovery yet (or is there?) I cant make the backups I'm used to doing before experimenting.
1. I believe there is an xposed module for that. At least there was a while ago that I used on my note 3.
2. I think tasker could work
Current Devices:
LG G3
Samsung Note 3
Nexus 7 (2013)
LG G Pad 8.3

I tried getting Tasker to run Pocket Casts when headphones are plugged in, which works, but pressing the headphone button still starts music from the Music app.
4) I freeze all of the Korean carrier app on my S, the phone seems to be working fine.
The only problem I have is some app has built-in Korean (e.g. Dialer, Ringtone selector...etc) which I am waiting to replace.

I solved this using Tasker and Send Intent.
In Tasker I created a "Headset Plugged Any" event with the task Send Intent of Action "au.com.shiftyjelly.pocketcasts.action.PAUSE" (this intent is for Pocket Casts)
Hi all.
I was wondering if you may be able to help with some advice regarding the G3.
Here's where I'm at.. I've been using a loan g3 for a week and I love it.. That screen just blows my mind. I've tried the Xperia Z2, the. htc M8.. Neither of them match or even come close.
What I am finding though is there is one issue that really irritates me. The lack of being able to call up the voice mate software using the headset. It is impossible. To give you an idea of where i was before.. I used an iPhone 5S and A Galaxy s5.. I used Siri all the time and find S Voice to be brilliant. I drive a lot and also walk around a lot listening to music and I hate walking worth my phone in my hands in London. Total muggers target.
With the S5, you just press the headset call button for a few seconds and it brings up S Voice which then allows me to play music without looking at the phone. I can't believe the same functionality has been left out of the g3. I've been through all the menus and tried saying the keywords to bring it up and it doesn't work. Am I totally missing something or has LG dropped the ball here?
The only thing I can find that is close is to press the unlock button while the phone is in my pocket to unlock the screen and then use the headset button which does bring up Voice mate. But it then doesn't do anything until I press the onscreen button to complete my command. If I press the headset button again, it doesn't do anything.
Similarly, the S5 features a car mode which just works. It audio connects to my Bluetooth stereo and then opens itself and plays tunes just by me saying Hi Galaxy. I can't seem to find anyway of achieving this with the g3. It's a big thing because having to unlock the phone then find the software key then swipe up to voice mate means I take my eyes off the road which really isn't ideal.
Can anybody help? It may sound like an insignificant thing but this is a big thing to me and means I'll have to plump for the s5 even though my heart tells me I really want the g3 more.
Oh and how do you guys find battery life? Is there a way of emulating the extreme power saving mode brought to us by the likes of the s5 and HTC One m8 rather than the pretty paltry built in battery save app?
Thanks in advance.

You have to activate voice recognition on the lockscreen within voice mate settings and the app starts listening with the "LG Mobile" or "Hello Genie" hotword (whatever you've set from these two).
My battery life is pretty solid, around a day and a half with moderate (web, streamed music, some casual games,...) and through the whole day with heavy (web, music, high demand games,...) use.
LG's implementation of this is horrible on all of their phones; I have been trying to get this to work on my LG flex for 6 months and it just wont..
I might be confused but can't you just press the dedicated button on your earphones to start playing music? Why do you need to go through Voice Mate? Also, Google Now now supports voice commands for music playback as well. I believe that can be activated by long pressing the headset button.
I wanted to use voice mate to make calls, but, its absolutely worthless on the LG flex; it never recognizes a word you say..
Hope its better for you folks on the G3

Hi Japultra,
This is the thing.
There are three buttons on the headset. The main one just stops and starts music. Long pressing it starts nothing. It just sits there. Long pressing the volume down button launches the camera, and the same with the up button launching the note taking software. These are no changeable.
They don't launch VoiceMate OR Google Now.
I like to talk to my phone and tell it to play particular songs, then to call someone, then maybe play a song by someone else. Rather than having to walk down the street with my phone in my hand like a mugger's target doing it all the old fashioned way.

Is there no way to set Google Now to be the default on the long press of the button? Also, which parts of London are you walking through that's so dangerous? I live here and have never had an issue with my phone.

Not that I can figure out - but if you know a way, please share.
I walk through a lot of London. Granted, mostly between Knightsbridge where I work and Surrey - but that's not the point.. It just takes once for a phone to be snatched out of a hand and I switch between songs that often, it's so easy with S-Voice or Siri to just hit the cable. I can't believe the G3 has left this out. Seems potty.

Yes, I have tried that. It makes no difference
