Hello, I just wanted to ask you if there is a way of changing the default sound effects (anoying clapping) for samsung sound effects.
Thanks for reply and sorry if I have many queations.
Or any other sound effects. Anything would be better....
Gmail
Settings > click on your email address and select "inbox sound & vibrate" under the notifications section click on sound to change the notification sound for gmail
Messaging app
Settings - notifications - notification sound
Phone
For the phone the ringtone is going to be whatever you set in the settings app then you customize the other apps as outlined above
For the sound files, seach "Stock Samsung Galaxy System Sounds" on xda.

Tried to change Events sound (see picture) - could not find how.
Probably need to play a bit with the registry.
Does anybody know how?
Thanks..
Try notifications ... (see screenshot)
There is no "Events" sound in Notifications
Sorry, my friend.
In Notifications sounds there is no category called "Events".
I cannot change "Events" sound using that category.
That's why I think I need to play with the registry a bit..
Is it possible to have one sound for mail and another one for sms??
Yes it is. You do it by setting your notification sound in the messages/mail app, instead of using the 'Sound & Display' in the settings menu.
Use an app called 'tone picker' to set custom sounds outside of the options htc offer.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
tnx.
Installed "Tone picker", but still I only could choose between "default ringtone" and "default notification"...
Pretty annoying with the same sound for sms, mms and e-mail..
Just rooted and installed the Absolution ROM and am loving it .
Just a few questions:
I want to change the wallpaper to one of my own, but can't find an option to do it - Or the folder where the 'stock' wallpapers are so I can put my own in there?
I don't want the email alert to go off everytime a push email arrives in Hotmail!! I have the notification sound set to silent for mail, but it seems to return to my default notification sound as soon as an email arrives?
Would ask this in the dev section, but I don't have enough posts to start a new thread!!
Any help??
For wallpaper you can normally change it from your launcher.
Clic on menu (key under the screen), wallpaper, choose Galerie and broose to the one you want on your SD.
This depend of your launcher, it's like this for ADW.
For notification sound, it depends of the mail application you're using I think.
You can define the default no in Sound in Settings (don't remember if you have detail or just global notification sound). Sorry, can't check more as I'm under ICS.

ADW > wallpaper only gives the option to intstall from Absolution wallpapers - No other option. So if I knew where it was storing those pictures I could save my own file in there.
The problem with the mail notification is that I can change the mail notification to silent, but as soon as a new mail comes through it resets itself to the global notification sound.
Cheers anyway.
Hi,
i search a way to reproduce my configuration sound on my ONEX.
I come from windows mobile then i was manage sound for every notification like Battery Low, usb connect, mail, calendar, sms, mms, and some others various settings available on WInMo...
But on Android, i can only manage my ringtone and a standard notification for all sms, email, calendar & more...
Where is the legendary ability to make everything on Android device... Customisation pass by sound too...
If everybody as a "third app" or secret, can you sahre with me...
Rewards ; A generic graphic request !
Root ur phone and get in to /system/media/audio. There is the sounds. If u want to change them, replace the files inside the folders. But remember: the name MUST be the same, otherwise it will not work.

I think what you mean is customise each app for its own tone? If so, you go into the app itself i.e. Messages (SMS) and in the top right click Menu > Settings > Notifications. In there is where you change the sound. Same for "most" other apps, it's in the app menu itself. To add your own custom tones you downloaded, create a folder on your SD card called "Notifications" and drop te sound in there. Reboot phone so it rescans and your new tones should be available. Worked for me
By the way, you have right ! No problem !
Only need find a way to boost external audio speaker..
Reclam when you want your graphic...

For me the external speaker is loud enough. I wouldn't want to boost it any more as it borders on distortion on some of my louder tones with volume on full.
I use TTS voice (transform in MP3) custom notification.. and voice is very low !!
Already boosted using Audacity !!
Cannot find option te set notification sound in messages app settings. It is possible in general device sound settings but causes the same notification sound in all apps. Is it solution ?
Open your message app
Next tap on the person message you want to customize the notification sound
Next tap on the 3 dots on the top right corner and select custom notification and tap one more time to enter the customized field
There look for sound
Thats it
Hope this helps
Unfortunately when you delete a thread with an individual where you have set a custom sound, the sound goes back to default.
You can also use Textra App. Amazing UI and customization with that app. Support Dev with pro version to unlock other useful features.
Only if you don't use RCS (well I can't find anywhere that third party apps support it).
If your looking to change the message app notification sound it self then do this

Yes that's it.
I didn't notice in first look that "new messages" and "general notifications" could be double tapped with further possibility to set sounds.
Thanks for that and for previous posts as well.
