Unable to Install new roms in TWRP

Hello everyone. I tried to wipe my kindle and replace the rom last night but its not letting me install anything. I have been running a version of Smoothrom for months now without any issues. I am giving the kindle to my gf so I wiped it and tried to upgrade to a kitkat rom first. I did a complete wipe of everything then loaded the roms on via usb. Now, when I try to install a new rom I get an error which Ill post below. I am using TWRP 2.5.0.0. I tried loading several different 4.4 roms and they all get the same error:
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/AmazonHfk2.8-20131220-Stable-otter.zip
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/AmazonHfk2.8-20131220-Stable-otter.zip
Updating partition details.......
It stays like that. If I try to reset it I get a message saying "Root permissions appear to be lost, fix root permissions now?"
Any ideas would be really appreciated.

SOLVED: I tried a few different Roms and it seems like its just the 4.4 roms that are failing. Im assuming its just my version of TWRP so ill try to update it. Feel free to delete this thread. Sorry for clogging up the forum.

I'm trying to install Liquid Smooth's latest 3.1 build on my phone , and i keep getting an error every time i try
I have had problems with other 4.4 ROMs(i can install 4.3 ROMs like LS v2.37), and it keeps happening
I've been doing this for three years, so I'm not that much of a newbie, I'm just not used to errors and complicated things
The Log in TWRP says :
Erasing System...
Mounting System
Installing System
Creating Symlinks
set_metadeta_recursive:some changes failed
E: Error in /external_sdcard/LS-KK-v3.1-OFFICIAL-
(Status 7)
Error flashing zip '/external_sdcard/LS-KK-v3.1-OFFICIAL-

Does anyone know what's wrong ?
Im going to be gone until about 5pm EST, so thanks in advance

Update TWRP. Also after you wipe, but before flashing the rom, reboot back into recovery. Say No to fixing SU when you do. Then try and flash the rom.

Maybe try philz if you can't get it with twrp ive have to do that a few times

Thanks dude, i never knew you had to update twrp, its probably because everytime i have a phone it doesn't last over 6 months, but the note 2 has been through alot, and its durable compared to my other phones

Permissions have to be set in a different way in 4.4.x ROM's. Commands like "set_metadeta_recursive" need updated binary which is included in updated TWRP and CWM recoveries.

[Q] Update.zip and update-script

Hello,
First of all, Im not a developer, I'm just customizing my own ROM's apps and little stuff like that.
I want to create an update-script and a zip I can just flash in recovery.
I tried to create a script, then zipped it but when I tried to flash it, it says something like "error executing update-binary" Can someone help me?
I've looked up some tutorials on creating the zip.. but It doesnt work.
btw, I can flash all other zips

pull the update binary from a zip you have successfully flashed and use it to replace the one your are currently using.
if you get the same message then it's your script that may be the problem. make the binary switch first and try.

Failed to install - help!

Hi, I have one serious issue going on. Every time I try to install a custom ROM my tablet would get bricked or TWRP would tell me that it failed to install. I am currently fixing my tab for like the 5th time via odin.
I don't really know what I'm doing incorrectly. As i know i have to install the custom ROM via TWRP and wipe cache, data , so on.
I tried installing the ROMs of both jellybean and kitkat versions. Nothing works and yes my tab was rooted

TWRP Not installing ANY roms on my LG G3.

Sup guys,
TWRP Is having its mood swings and will not let me install any Roms at all the roms i've tried are.
1. Pacman Rom
2. Zephyr rom
3. Liquid Dark Rom
These 3 are compatible with my phone but when I go to install the rom it will install then suddenly it will give the message.
'E: ERROR EXECUTING UPDATER BINARY IN ZIP '/EXTERNAL_SD/ZEPHYR-OS-V5.0-SENTINEL-20160901-D855-UBERTC.ZIP'
I've wiped the system, data, Dalivik cache rebooted the recovery.
Plus I found out that It says I have the wrong baseband. Its weird though every rom that i've used it never asked me to change the baseband.
Thats all i've done please help me out guys.
I forgot to say the rom that I was currently on was Fulmics rom and since i installed that no other roms will install.

You need v21c modem. Modem
Install it and then install AOSP based ROMs.

I'm having trouble going from Fulmics to crDroid/CM14 on my G3 D855. I keep getting ERROR 7.
I've tried removing the assert lines of code from the binary file in the ROMS zips, but that doesn't work (says the whole file is missing when installing). Do we think that what worked for you, may work for me? Does that sound likely?
EDIT: Went ahead and did it - it worked! Thanks guys! Been looking for a solution for the past 24 hours!
