Hide WiFi Calling Icon - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How do you go about hiding the WiFi Calling icon in the status bar? I want it enabled, but that constant icon is annoying as hell. If I go to "Apps" in settings, the "Show Notifications" checkbox is checked, and grayed out. So that isn't a way. I am rooted.

There is no way to get rid of the icon, unless you're rooted, I believe there are modules on xposed that will allow you to do that.

[Q] RoboForm add-in not working on lapdock [Solved]

It worked fine for a day or so, then suddenly, the toolbar is there but the only item that works is "Generate". The "preferences" option is greyed out in the Add-on settings window too. I also had Google toolbar and shortsuts installed. I removed them all, and re-installed, but roboform still will not work.
Is there a simple way to reset firefox to default? I would like to try that first and then reload robo. Any other suggestions welcomed too.

[solution] found a greyed out icon in the navagation toolbar next to the "full screen" icon.. It was the roboform setup button. Clicked it, and it popped up a window that let me choose my online account or local. Then the robo toolbar worked as normal. Then I was able to remove the robo toolbar because the robo icon in navagation toolbar drops down all the features I need. Hope this helps someone else out.

[Resolved] Productivity Lock Screen Not Showing Notifications

I did a huge update on my phone (from 4.0.3 w/ Sense 4 all the way to the latest 4.1.1 w/ Sense 4+, about 4 or 5 updates total), so I don't know which update brought up this bug.
With the Productivity lock screen style, not all the sections work.
Working:
Weather
Calendar events
Social feeds
Not working:
Calls
Messages
Mails
By not working, I mean they simply will never show on my lock screen regardless of how many notifications I have.
No custom ROM. Latest JB 4.1.1 update. Yes, I did go to the settings and make sure these notifications were enabled.
Well, I guess I fixed it.
Calls: Open Phone. Settings. Enable "Phone notification preview" (last check box).
Messages: Open Messages. Settings. Notifications. Enable "Notification preview" (last check box of the Received messages section).
When I got the phone, these settings were enabled by default. After updating to JB, then resetting to factory settings, these were disabled by default.

Background apps force closed

Hi all, im running COS beta on my.find 7a. I want to run some apps in background like utorrent for example.
But after I open it and then switch to.another app the OS close it and wont let it run in the background.
Tried to.look for some options in settings but couldnt change this odd behavior.... on other roms this never hapens.
Anyone have a solution?
A solution? Nope... It's either a bug or a rather crappy way to handle background tasks on COS.
A workaround? Yep! :victory:
First you'll need to enable the "Data Saving" option, even if it sounds totally unrelated to your problem.
(Go to "Settings", and then "Security settings". Select "Data saving" and enable it.)
It will then display a list of all your installed apps. Just select the ones you want to allow to keep running in the background, and they won't be closed any more once launched.

Click to collapse
Haa. Works like charm.
Stupid though cos now I cant really use data saving properly as I have to add to the list all the apps I want to run in background...

[SOLVED] LS980 on ZVG: how to restrict background data per-app?

I am on stock(-ish) lollipop, and I'm trying to prevent some data-hungry apps from eating up all mobile data. I'm pretty sure there was an option to prevent application from using mobile data when in background, wasn't it? I can't seem to find it.
Also: it is not possible to wholesale restrict background data without causing the warning icon on notification bar, which disables restriction the moment you touch it, is it?
UPDATE: for some reason I didn't notice that the "restrict background data" was right there under application name. Sorry.

Problem setting home location for Smart Settings

I want to use the Smart Settings feature to enable wifi when I'm at home, but can't work out how to set my home location.
The "Home" section of the Edit Smart setting page says "No home located in My places". When I tap on that a message pops up saying "Home is not located in settings for My places. When located, Smart settings can be set automatically...."
So I went hunting for a way to set my home location...I started with Location settings, which seems the obvious place. There's a "Places" section there, but it's greyed out. The slider is set to On however, and the greyed-out text reads: "My place ...locate your home for Smart settings".
Presumably if this option wasn't greyed out I would be able to set my home location, but I can't work out why it's not enabled. I have Location services turned on, and set to High accuracy mode.
Any ideas?
I've just found the answer. It seems that I had Mobile Data disabled, and it is only possible to set your home location when Data is enabled.
