Hi guys, I think I flashed a wrong TWRP img and now the kindle fire won't boot.
I can't access the recovery mode and now the pc can not recognize it.
There is any solution to flash another TWRP version?
Thank you.

Does it turn on at all? If so, there is a brief FASTBOOT period when you boot it on. If not able to access your device at all, you can go to this XDA thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2415870
Normally when you flash the wrong recovery, something should still turn on.
Hope this helps!

Hey, I was stupid and tried to install a rom without factory-resetting my kindle. Now I am stuck at the splash logo boot loop. I tried the unbrick utility, but it can't find my kindle. I have access to fastboot commands, but not adb. Don't ask me why, I just can't use adb. I don't know how to restore my kindle to a working state. I have a fastboot cable available. Thanks in advance. Im a noob btw.:crying:

Kindle fire 2 bricked

I'm guessing it's looping from the kindle fire screen not the cm10.1 screen, correct? If so, you can use the command, "fastboot -i 0x1949 -w". That will wipe userdata and cache. But if it's looping without even loading the rom that's probably not going to fix it.

Ok, I am now not stuck on the splash logo. i reflashed the recovery and boot partitions and now it is trying to boot, but there is currently no os installed. Is this a good sign that I can fix it? I am in slc for the weekend and cant flash the system partition yet.
Another question. I tried installing twrp on my recovery, but i cant boot into it. it wont show the blue logo. do i need an os installed to use it?

Yes. os MUST be installed for our recovery to function. Specifically a file called 'stack' has to reside on the system partition

Ok, I figured out it was a OTA update that re-bricked it. I am downloading a custom rom right now. I finally got it to work! Thanks for all your help.:victory:

i got similar problems. rooted it, but i got afterwards some problems with superuser applications. ran sveral rooting methods, but at some point, it stucked now with the orange "kindle fire" logo.
tried also to use different recoverys (kindle-fire-ultility2, KF2_SRT_10.2.3) but nothing helped. i cant reach the device anymore. adb says: no device in list and fastboot: <waiting for device>
actually i use the supplied cable. or am i wrong to use it for fastboot. thought the supplied one is similar to the special fastboot cables from e.g ebay
/edit: sry, just realized after reading the FAQs, that the factory cable is a different one. sorry.
Title basically says it all however here is the long rundown. so I installed twrp and fff using kfu. Everything but the recovery mode boots fine. Using normal boot mode it will go right into the regular kindle and load up so that I can access apps books movies etc. However when I try to enter recovery mode using either the kfu bootmode menu or the fff boot menu on the kindle itself it gets stuck in a boot loop on the fff boot screen. I don't 'need' the recovery part but it would be nice to have especially if I screw something up. Any help would be appreciated.

should / can i remove the twrp files before i do that?
mostly wondering because i looked at the cotr page and it said to upgrade you must delete the settings.ini file. Now i know i am not upgrading from a previous version of the recovery however could just installing cotr cause a software conflict with twrp?
I don't know why twrp would not be fine. Are you sure the file you installed was a good download? You may simply need to redownload/reinstall twrp.

No. By flashing a new recovery, the partition is completely overwritten. The only things that remains are the files saved to the sdcard. TWRP files on the sdcard have no effect on those for COTR and vice versa. The 'settings.ini' for COTR is located on the sdcard, which is why it needs to be deleted when upgrading.

i re-downloaded the kfu file 3 times and re installed twrp twice each i am reasonably sure that everything is fine unless the upload from this site is somehow corrupted

I am trying to change my recovery but have been unable to reboot into the stock recovery. When I try and reboot into recovery the system just hangs at the first Amazon logo. I didnt have any problems when I first received the unit and manually updated it but it is a no go now. Is there a way to repair recovery if something has gone wrong with it? I can still boot into the device fine. Any help you can provide is appreciated.
Thanks

I figured it out. I used Fire TV Firmware Restore Tool V3. It must repair the recovery because everything worked as usual once I used it.
Thanks
so uhhh i'm pretty stupid and i wanted to install otterx on my KF 1st generation i followed all the steps and wiped the os. I could get into recovery and stuff with the otterx bootloader but my computer didnt reconize my device and i got scared so went into otterx bootloader, Clicked advanced and did the emmc corruption fix (having no idea what it was) and now i'm stuck on fastboot mode with no os and recovery and adb wont recognize my device please help! All im doing now is waiting for my device to run out of battery so i can at least try to get into something. I also did no backups........

i Can now get into fastboot but since my computer cant recognize my KF adb wont work please helpppppp
Don't worry, if you can boot to fastboot you'll be fine. I'm in the air right now but PM sd_shadow on this site and he'll likely help you.
I was in the same boat a while back and all is well now... Really... Don't worry!!

thanks i figured out how to make my drivers work for like 3 seconds before i get "unknown device" message im trying to get cm11 installed, and have the .zip file but fthe twrp 2.8.5 for otterx doesnt seem to let me flash the file so im going to downgrade. At this point i just need drivers fixed.
I used TWRP 3.0.0.0 and it worked fine. You need to load the recovery image file with boot loader not the zip file

Hello guys,
I have a big problem. Today i wanted to unlock my bootloader, flash a custom recovery and root my phone. Unlock the bootloader wasnt a problem. Then i boot the recovery.img from adb to install it from there, but when i wanted to install it first i selected the wrong option(boot not recovery). So after a restart i just came always back in the recovery. So i searched a boot image to install it with twrp. I think i found and installed the wrong one because now i only see the animation of lg, thats all. Please can anyone help me?
When u enter download or fastboot mode then u van flash an kdz or a TWRP.img

Well first at all you didn't make any mistake by installing recovery.img as boot. Couse after that you had to install recovery.img using TWRP at first boot. There are tutorials how to that properly, dunno why u dont read carefully before doing something like that.
Now i think the easiest solution would be just reinstall stock rom using LGUP tool. Ofcourse you can still try use adb tool. What you need to do is to find proper boot file for you model and android version and put it to adb folder and flash it same as recovery.
You can easy get into download mode by taking battery out, connecting phone using usb with computer and then while holding volume up button put back battery.
Tutotial how to enter fastboot from download mode: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-how-to-enter-fastboot-mode-t3239537
I would recommend to start using google. As i spent like 5 mins to gather all info for that.
