I am having some difficulty decrypting my LG G3 from Sprint. I have the 5.0.1 update, but I have no modifications or root of any kind. Whenever I go through the appropriate menu options to start decrypting, the phone hangs on the LG splash screen at boot. I have to pull the battery to get it to stop. When I power the system back on, it functions as though it was never asked to decrypt and starts as it normally would.
Has anyone else encountered this issue or have a possible solution? Thank you for your assistance!
I am also have same issue. How do I decrypt my LG G3?
So recently I had bricked my phone due to being silly with the wipe in TWRP trying to install CM12.1 and had to follow some guides to get the stock firmware which took some time getting to happen. Used the LG Flash Tool 2014 for this.
So far its back into Lollipop when it said Android is upgrading and boots into the standard LG stock of Lollipop. I'm glad I've managed to get back on the phone but I'm experiencing alot of issues with the phone in general since this issue.
Below is what I am currently experiencing:
Turning the phone off doesnt happen, the LED cycles through blue and green and is forever stuck on this. The same goes for trying to reboot so I have to pull the battery.
Some of the apps/menus turn the phone into a black screen and freezes. Takes some time before the phone realizes I'm double tapping to wake it up or press the power button to lock the phone and get the lockscreen up. Again I have to battery pull just to get anywhere.
Sometimes the phone will randomly just load into the LG boot logo and get stuck there, not too sure what causes this to happen.
The phone would be on and all of a sudden not respond as if its turned off. The LED light will be red as if its charging but once again I have to battery pullfr
Earlier today I used a site which checked my IMEI number to see which KDZ i need to get and used that for flashing again as I reckon I used the wrong file initially.
Basically I have a D855 16gb model and I'm on Three in the UK. The IMEI site which I was recommended to use said I needed to use D85520l_00.kdz
Let me know if I need to add any further information.
Try to fresh flash....wipe data also you have to do cse flash ....backup nvram part first , but i dont know how to backup imei so search on forum and i am not sure it's needed or not but for safety i say this.try to find out correct kdz for your phone according to your imei number.
Hi guys
i flashed twrp and cloudy g3 2.5 and both was working fine until this afternoon i dont know what happened but my phone just rebooted and vibrates 4-5 times before entering bootloader and then enters twrp. i tried restoring my nandroid it faiLS. i successfully flashed a kdz in cse mode and then it started giving me lag and also the screen will turn off and wont come back on so i pulled the battery and flashed the same kdz in normal mode but now my g3 doesnt show up in the pc but it doesnt say unrecognisable device. just nothing happens but the phone still charges and shows mtp also the phone freezes and then turns off the display and it wont come on again. factory resetting doesnt work.
any ideas on how to get this phone right? please i need help asap
thanks in advance
Hey guys,
I used this guide to restore the stock firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
It didn't succeed. Near the end, when phone rebooted, it got stuck in a bootloop.
I see the LG logo, the android man for a few seconds until it restarts again.
What should I do? I tried running the factory reset but that too does nothing but reboot it (again in the loop)
I am also having this same problem, if anyone could help/shed some light that would be great
Me too. I take days trying to find the solution.
Hey! Check the bottom for TLDR.
I have had my G3 since they came out (have the 2GB, 16GB RAM version), and even got the G4, but remained with the G3 since it didn't have any issues with rooting and recoveries...
Anyways, I was talking to my brother on WhatsApp yesterday and ended up checking out my Hangouts messages at the same time. I believe I accidentally hit the camera feature on Hangouts, and then everything froze. I could still talk to my brother, but I could not get to the home screen or even change from looking at Hangouts. I turned off the screen in hopes that I could get back in, but when I turned the screen back on, I could not log into the phone (I do not have a pin or password, it has no lock at all).
After a few more minutes talking to my brother, it suddenly shut off. When I tried to turn it on it went into a bootloop where the front light changes different colors, and the LG logo continues to show that shine going around the logo.
I was able to get into download mode and went ahead and tried to flash a KDZ as per instructions (I have done this in the past). The install would complete and the phone would give the prompt about updating all the apps. Once that was done, it would show the LG logo and again for about ten minutes. Afterwards, it would get stuck in updating all the apps again and performing the same process...
I also tried using the LG PC Suite and trying to "Restore upgrade errors", but every time I would click that option, I would get a Windows error that something happened and close out the program (it never recognized the phone). I then used the LG Mobile Support Tool, which allowed me to perform an update for the firmware. It too completed, but then went back into the process of updating apps, showing the LG logo, then looping.
The final thing I tried was doing a Factory Reset. I was able to get to the area, and when selecting yes, it immediately went to the LG logo and "Life's Good" sign, which it would never get passed. This is also what happens when I try to turn on the phone and wait.
I contacted LG, which was pointless, as I expected. They wanted me to go to a local repair shop, which is of no use to me if they can only perform the same things I have done.
TLDR: My phone can get into download mode and the Factory Reset area, but flashing stock firmware, or performing the Factory Reset, still leads me into one of two bootloop situations. LG PC Suite and LG Mobile Support Tool seem to be of no use.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there anything I can try that I haven't?
Thanks in advance!
