[Q] Change system font in PA 5.1 / Launcher3 Settings - Paranoid Android Q&A

What's the best way to change the system font in PA 5.1? It's not really "my" phone until I have the right font
Also, how do you get to the settings menu for Launcher3?
RRO Layers support coming to PA 5.x?
I'm wondering, since PA 5.1 is very new, are there a lot of tweaks which will come later such as being able to choose which Quick Settings tiles you have and re-arranging them, and some option to go back to "dark" system menus instead of the ugly white ones?

1. Use any font changing app on the play store.
2. Aosp launcher doesn't have any settings. It never has. Use a different launcher.
3. F#$k no layers is not coming to PA. Layers is a cluster**** of code. No. Just effing no.
4. Quick settings tiles were removed from 5.1 for a rework because of the changes google made to the code.
5. No. We like what google has done with the lollipop look and we don't change that.

[Q] Two Questions About 4.1.2 Notification Interface

1. Does anyone else find the notification font to be too big? If it was smaller, I could see more detail, in say, the Gmail notifications. Is there a way this can be changed? Also, is this different on any of the custom TW roms based on this new T-Mobile base?
2. The quick toggles are missing the data toggle. Same questions here: can this be changed? are there custom TW roms that have this? (I believe yes, since all the custom 4.0.4 roms I had included this useful toggle.)
(Note: I'm only interested in custom roms that include Wi-Fi calling, but please feel free to answer generally to help others who stumble upon this thread.)

I'm not sure about the notification font but I think you can just go into the display settings, reduce the font and see how that goes, and for the data toggles I do have one (I'm using the jedi mind trick jb rom by ptmr3) it is also customizable too.

I was also quite surprised by the large font size in the notifications which made everything quite crowded in there. The Display font size in settings does not affect the notification fonts unfortunately. Luckily, ptmr3's Jedi Mind Trick JB includes a nice fix for this with the Per-app DPI settings.
1. In Settings, Jedi ROM Tricks, Custom Framework Install, make sure the Framework is active by clicking Install / Update
2. At the same place, in the Modules tab, make sure Xposed App Settings is checked
3. In Settings Jedi ROM Tricks, Per-App DPI Settings, search for systemUI.
4. Toggle the switch to ON and set DPI to 200 or 210 (I use 210). Leave everything else as is.
5. Click the Save icon in the top right
6. Reboot phone and profit!
As for your second question, JMT JB does include a Data toggle

Right now I'm on the stock official JB release. I've changed the font size under the display settings to tiny, and everything seems much better now. Also if you go into setting in the Messaging App you can check a box to allow the volume rockers to change the size of the messages. This also helped me as I didn't like how big the bubbles were by default. Once you are in a convo you can press the down volume to make everything smaller.

Changing the font size in the settings does not affect the Notifications, but in general I like the small font everywhere. Next weekend, I will probably reroot. I wanted to give stock a chance. The last 6 months I've been bouncing between Infamous 3.1 and Jedi Mind Trick. I will probably give the new Jedi ROM a try.

HTC SenseUI

Greetings everyone,
I am currently using a Sense 7 HTC Desire 820, and I want to ask a bit questions on the quick settings management and system lockscreen here today.
I got this phone half a year ago, since then, I have wished to replace the quick settings icons in the pulldown menu and system lockscreen into the one used by AOSP rom or Cyanogenmod. I have tested using different Xposed modules to perform the task but still they all failed to do so. So now I am wondering if there are anyways for me to force change the icons or the layout, for example and I guess by changing some icons and values in the SystemUI.apk or framework-res.apk, to the one I desired. Or are there any zip or application I can install onto my device so to perform the task? Does anyone got any ideas here or have experienced the above situation as me too?

i'd like to do this too. i'd like help on getting gravitybox quicksettings to work, overriding the device's default one. i also want to change the navigation bar icons so that they are all of the same look & size.
when i changed my dpi to 260, my navigation buttons became larger and i can't reduce their size. if i reduce the height of the navbar through gravitybox, the menu ley alone remains too large. see my screenshots. i changed dpi to 290 and the navbar is looking better now. but, even though i set font size as small, my fonts are bigger than i prefer.
please click this link for files i think are relevant to the issue under reference: http://www31.zippyshare.com/v/xw2JtFOG/file.html. thanks a lot in advance for any help/advice/links. let me know if any more info/files are needed.

About ZenUI themes

I see old LP builds for our phone can do this, but newer can't. And I see on March 2016, people was able to apply full themes (include Settings, Dialer, Contacts, status bar). So can we apply full themes on lastest stock MM? Alternatives like Overlay/RRO often crash SystemUI and not fully applied. In Russianbear's OP screenshot, I see an AOSP-like Settings app. How did he do this?

Use custom themes or RRO that re-worked to work with MM.
Now free themes only apply status bar, home screen (ZenUI Launcher), lockscreen, and weather widget.

Revert back to oreo icons possible?

Recent updated my S9+ to Pie & the icons are awful. I've looked through various options & none are simple icon changes. I've looked into creating a theme & only changing the icons (if I could source them) but Samsung don't allow non-creators to create themes or icon packs.
Is there a way we can install & change the icons back to the oreo ones without root / another launcher? At this point I'm ready to flash back to Oreo if it's not possible.
If anyone has the icons & a means to add them all as an install able Samsung theme you'd be a life saver.
Did you tried samsung themes?there are some pretty icon packs there.

I'm desperately looking for this as well. Did u got it somewhere else?
Try Pixel Icon Pack from the Play Store.
Have a look at the icons from Samsung directly in Galaxy Themes. The 2018 Olympic Games icon pack is very similar to the icons you get on Oreo.
similar but not quite ...
I also want the icon pack from the oreo high_contrast_theme_ii. they "updated" the theme with the awful pie icons. cant find it anyway.
Anyone find a solution yet?

how to replace navbar icons?

so i just updated to pie and the navbar icons are almost as ugly as the previous samsung icons. how do I replace them? I just want to have the regular android icons, how can this be so hard?
so i guess that's a no
Give a theme from Galaxy Themes a try, some of them have AOSP navbar icons. They do change your app icons and other stuff though.
But then there's always the option to enable gestures in Settings.
I'd go for the latter if I were you.
Back on Oreo I used Swift Installer to apply an AOSP-like look to my phone which was good.
Swift Installer now works with One UI, the AOSP look isn't available though, but who knows, maybe it will be in the near future.
Doesnt Substratum still work on S9 with the Pie update? If so there are Navbar icon apps for Substratum?

no themes in the theme store show the navbar on their preview images.
already downloaded many themes, none of them changed the navbar icons.
and again, I don't wanna change anything, samsung's default ui is already ugly as it is, don't wanna make it even uglier with user made themes, only wanna change the navbar icons to look like what google makes.
if you know of one single theme that changes nothing but the navbar icons, go ahead and tell everyone
