Ok lets get started.
Requirements: x-plore file manager http://www.mediafire.com/download/zeckscfoy6c7zox/X-plore.apk
Any photo editor which can conver images into . Png format. ( i use pixler express)
Instructions:
1.First using photo editor convert the photo which u want to use. Make sure the resulution of that image is as low as possible.
2. copy the Settings.apk from system/priv-app to root folder of sdcard.
3. Open x-plore and browse for Settings you copied earlier in second tab (reffer screen shots in 2nd post)and long press on It and select open apk as zip.
4. Goto res/ and browse for the original rom logo and rename your image exactly as original logo.
5. Copy your image into the folder where original logo is.
6. Now you have to sign the moded Settings.apk for that open original Settings.apk as zip from system /priv-app, and copy the meta-inf and android mainfest.xml to moded Settings.apk.
7. Now push your Settings.apk into system /priv-app /Settings.
8 reboot.done

OK I have a zip of a windows transiting animation zip... When I open it it says folders are res/anim and then there are a bunch of files in it... I'd like to change the files out so I can use the other transition...I tried zip themer and that did not work...what I am asking is does anyone know where this set of files/folder is located within system? If not any way I could get this to flash properly?

It is in the framework-res.apk (/system/framework/framework-res.apk).
You can either modify the framework-res.apk manually and use adb to push it back, or make an update.zip. You alternatively could make a zipthemer file and use it to flash it.

You could use rom toolbox lite (assuming you're rooted). I use it for animations and fonts when I'm not on sourcery rom.

As from my Thread for the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus4 , here is the HTC One GE version of the Dark Keyboard
Use at your own risk!
If you don't know anything about flashing a ZIP-File please stop reading here and go to somewhere where you can learn the first steps.

I was just looking for a dark and good looking JB Keyboard,
but I couldn't find a simple dark keyboard as I had found for my ICS.
So I just copied the conted of the drawable-xhdpi folder from my
ICS-Dark-Keyboard to the drawable-xhdpi folder of the JB-Stock-Keyboard and the AOSP/AOKP Stock Keyboard.
So the theming-credit goes to someone else I don't know by name, but I realy love this stock looking dark keyboard.
My contribution is only the idea to put it into a GE 4.3 Keyboard APK and make the flashable ZIP
hope you like it, have fun guys!
in some cases it can cause Keyboard FCs so Backup before!
if you've played with your DPI it could happen that you will not see any changes because this Keyboard for (X)XHDPI
Download flashable ZIP
(LatinIMEGoogle.apk for GE 4.3, I've tested with TrickDroid GE 2.0 ROM )
Do it yourself way for every GE/AOSP ROM and everyone who can use a ZIP Tool:
Download RES/XHDPI files
Code:
- Download res.zip from my Googledrive
- extract your ROMs Keyboard file (LatinIME.apk, LatinImeGoogle.apk, no matter wich one you have) using a Root Explorer
or just grab it out of your ROM's ZIP-File
- copy your keyboard file to a PC
- open your Keyboard file with 7-zip (open Source)
- go to res/drawable-xhdpi and drag&drop all the files from the res.zip's drawable-xhdpi folder you've downloaded
- put back the changed keyboard APK to your phone, copy it to system/app and don't forget to change the permissions to what it was before
Thats all, no magic required!
Feel free to use the Dark Keyboard in any ROM, I don't care. :victory:
good work :good:

Follows my contribution to safestrap menu. Same concept with background variations.
Original size here.
To change safestrap menu:
> Root access in "File Manager" (look for in settings);
> Choice the image and rename it to "background-def.png";
> Go to: "system\bootstrap\images" and overwrite the image;
> Just reboot and see! :highfive:

Excelent!
Thought I'd throw something into the mix. I can't really take much credit for this, it's basically the design @Saturnal posted, with the updated Moto logo and the all important "+" for those of us with a Defy Plus. Excuse the drunken photoshopping, might actually contribute something worthwhile at a later date.

Damn nice. And damn, that it makes me want to have it as a boot logo
So.. Something is amiss.. Saved every image from @Saturnal and they seem to be in .jpeg not .PNG.. Tried converting to png on my PC but then the image shown no bigger than 5x3mm in boot. What am i doing wrong? Can i use it as background-def.jpeg?
Edit: solved the issue by using easy image reziser for android.
