[Q]D855 Wiping & Flashing & Stock Firmware - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys, this is my procedure of flashing stock ROM, wipe everything in internal storage and return factory state when I was using my old phone Samsung Galaxy Note 1.
Flash Philz Recovery using PC Odin.
Go to Recovery Mode immediately and do "5 Wipes" including (Wipe Data/Factory Reset), (Wipe Cache Partition), (Wipe Dalvik Cache), (Format emmc), (Format \system)
Reboot into Download Mode from Philz recovery.
Flash stock GT-N7000 ROM using PC Odin, then root using Chinese one-key root app.
Use Triangle Away app to reset flash counter to 0 when possible and willing to.
My G3 D855 is currently in Android 4.4.2, Kernal version 3.4.0, Build number is KVT49L.A1413976435, Software version is V10n-HKG-XX.
And my questions are:
Are there any similar ways to clean my device like I did to my old GT-N7000? I mean wipe all 5 options in Philz recovery or other recovery that can do the same thing without any trouble or bad side-effects occured, maybe official kernal / recovery can't wipe that clean and effeciently like Philz touch, I just want to have a clean device like exact the same status when I bought it.
As you can see I emphasize the software version of my D855, because I can't find the exact same stock firmware on the internet, I only found V10b-HKG-XX, in lgkdz.com or other tutorial sites. I think finding the exact same stock firmware that matches the factory one when buying it is the best, I wonder where I can find that...?
That's all of my question for now... Thanks a lot in advance! And sorry for the long words...

To revert to 0, flash a kdz firmware : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
check your imei here and you have the lastest kdz for your G3 : http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?firmware=1
If you are on untouched stock rom, you can also do a factory reset and all is wipe and clean

I know that website, but if you take a closer look on my words, I said I found V10B and now my firmware is V10H. And I am not sure that the firmware I downloaded is 4.2.2 or 5.0 because I don't want 5.0, I want 4.2.2 V10-HKG-XX...
And factory reset will wipe all 5 things I mentioned? Dalvik, \system, \data etc.?

Yep... Hard (Factory) Reset will erase everything from your device including your personal data, info and accounts. In a few words, you will restore your LG G3 to its initial state, the same that is provided when you first buy a new Android device.

It can be done by only pressing Factory reset option in recovery mode? No need to do other things like wipe Dalvik cache or some other things? From my experience factory reset actually didn't wipe system root folders...

Reading your initial Post, you are looking to;
" I just want to have a clean device like exact the same status when I bought it."
.
Then do a Full Factory Reset, Internal Settings or Hardware Buttons. You cannot just Flash a Custom Recovery (TWRP/CWM ~ not Philz) without first "Rooting" your Phone.. You will have no Root Folders if you haven't Rooted...
How to Hard Reset LG G3
USE INTERNAL SETTINGS
Take your phone and tap on Menu.
Then choose Settings.
Go towards Backup and Reset and choose Factory Data Reset.
Tap on Reset Phone and also choose Erase Everything.
Agree with the alert and complete the hard reset process.
USE HARDWARE BUTTONS
Method 1
Turn off your phone: press power button and select “power off” or press and hold power key for 5 or 6 seconds.
Then press and hold power and volume down buttons at the same time.
Release the buttons when the LG logo appears.
Immediately press and hold power and volume down keys until the hard reset menu appears.
If you can’t get it from the first time, just practice a little bit more, as you just have to be fast.
Method 2
Turn off your LG G3.
Press Volume Down and Power buttons at the same time.
The LG logo will be displayed; at the point release only the power button.
Immediately press power key again until the factory reset menu if displayed.
Method 3
Turn off your handset.
Press power and volume down keys at the same time.
Wait for the LG logo to appear and release the buttons.
Then, immediately press volume down and volume up buttons (simultaneously).
Release the keys once the hard reset menu is being displayed on your LG G3.

I forgot to mention that actually I used PurpleDrake tool to root my G3 D855, so now if I want to clean up everything on my phone, including root status, everything from my phone, still hard reset is okay? It will back to absulote zero?

Galaxy W touch screen and keys not working

Hello.
I tried my very first flash on my very first Android with RebelRom 3 and now my screen and touch keys won't work. I tried restoring the backup I made but it still won't work
I used CWM to wipe cache then wipe factory settings then I applied the .zip I then read that you had to wipe dalvik cache. I wiped cache then dalvik cache then factory settings. But I remembered I read that you wiped system. I wiped system and data and wiped cache, dalvik cache, and factory settings. Then RebelRom worked but touch won't work. I did steps same as above then I restored backup from external sd. It boots normally but touch still doesn't work. What should I do? In what order do I do the wiping? Can I have from A-Z guide on this as this is my first Android and flash.
I don't have too much experience.. but i'm having my Galaxy W for 3 months and i've flashed Custom Roms over 20 times and this problem never happened to me..
So if you got no help here.. i think you should restore your STOCK Rom , flash the STOCK recovery and Make sure your device is UNROOTED..
and get it to Samsung
And If you want to know when to wipe system and data and wipe cache..etc
You should always follow the instructions ,, and it is not bad to wipe factory settings and Cache everytime before flashing new Rom [As i do]
And anyone correct me if i'm wrong
Flash stock rom using Odin
If flashing new stock rom doesn't fix your problem, go to Samsung center.
Btw, flashing using Odin will make your device unrooted back.

You can try this:
Download any other ROM to your phone.
1) shut off phone
2) press volume up and home keys and press power
3) when you see CWM, release these keys
4) wipe everyting
5) install ROM
6) reboot
If the problem isn't solved, try download to your PC any firmware, pressing volume down, home key enter to Download mod and flash original samsung firmware.
If the problem isn't solved yet, go to the service center.
Good Luck

Can you completely power down(hold the power button for 30-60 seconds) and power back on to get back into recovery(vol up + power)? And after you did the factory reset and all that, what did you install? Did you make a backup? Just need a little more info.

Yes, after the reset and cache wipe i didn't install anything. I did make a nandroid backup, but it's probably gone now. I reboot the phone and the bootloop starts.

So no recovery? If you can get into recovery your backup is probably there. If you can, check to see if your backup is there first. If it is, factory reset(data, dalvik and cache) then go into advanced wipe, wipe all 4(should be data, dalvik, cache and system - DO NOT DELETE INTERNAL!) THEN restore you backup and reboot. If you can't get into recovery, see if you can get into dl mode. From a totally shut down phone - hold both volume buttons then plug your phone into a computer(while still holding the volume buttons). If you can get into dl mode, then there is still hope, you will have to use lgnpst and flash a teenybin. The directions are here on the forum, but try recovery first(if possible) and let me know if recovery or dl mode works. Sadly, if dl mode doesnt come up, you may be in trouble.
I can get into Download mode. I've tried LGNPST but it doesn't wanna launch. Do you mean recovery as in CWM or Stock Recovery? I can access stock, I'm not sure how to access CWM.

So, do you have twrp installed? Or any other custom recovery? Not stock! Also you'll need a Windows PC.
Just looked at the date lol. You probably have it fixed already or just moved on.

[Q] About to sell my Unlocked S3, what's best RESET approach?

Hey guys, I just got a Note 3 and I am looking to sell my Galaxy S3. I hadn't used it much but regardless it's obvious I have to do a factory reset so it wipes all my data and also gives the guy I sell it to a fresh phone.
But I've heard resetting an S3 is not as straightforward as it should be. Now the phone is unlocked (does reset remove the unlock?). So there are two resets? Hard reset and soft ware reset? Which one do y'all recommend and how do you do it? Which reset mode will let the new user use it as if it's a new phone?
You can do a wipe from the OS and also a wipe from stock recovery.
The phone will remain unlocked.

Is the OS wipe where you go to settings and select backup and factory reset? Doesn't the OS wipe leave your saved stuff/collected info on the phone?

It shouldn't. In case it does, that's why I also suggested wiping it from recovery.
To really be safe, you could flash a stock ROM via Odin, depending on the OS that's currently installed.

I guess recovery is the Hard reset this guy is talking about here?:
http://www.androidpit.com/en/androi...alaxy-S3-Factory-Reset-your-Samsung-Galaxy-S3
If so are those directions:
Settings > Personal > Back Up and Reset > Factory Data Reset > Reset Device > Delete All.
Correct? I don't wanna flash anything. I bought the phone a week ago, still on stock 4.1.1 lol just a vanilla AT&T unlocked phone

[Q] Custom ROM - How?

hi guys,
got confused from all the guides and stuff...
I'm getting a new LG G3 today (so i don't care to WIPE it...) and i really don't like the stock rom, and i need root.
what to do first? i'd like to get links to easy guides...
and also, which custom ROM is most recommended? i want something close to the Nexus Edition (maybe CM i best for me?) but i do want the KnockKnock feature to be there by default...
i'de like to get a guide to install the ROM too...
Thank you all!
set up your phone
root it with purple drake
download flashify from google play and grant superuser rights to it
flash a bumped recovery.img that's made for your device version with flashify
download a rom for your device from the lg g3 development forum
boot to recovery
wipe data + press back + factory reset + wipe system + cache + dalvik cache
back to the main screen of the recovery img
install the stock rom you downloaded
enjoy.
i explained it like you are my mother. don't mind it.
edit: knockcode doesn't work on custom roms yet as far as i know. you can download the cloudy rom that's based on stock lg lollipop though.

just to be sure. you just click "advanced wipe", wipe data, press back once and there is a factory reset slider. you do it and go to advanced wipe again and wipe system + cache + dalvik cache.

you don't need an external sd. just download the rom zip you want, transfer it to your phone's internal memory with a usb cable before you wipe anything. do the wiping steps, go back to the main page, click install, choose the zip, click reboot system, done.

no, you won't. but double tap to wake will work.
why do you need knockcode that much? it's not so practical as it seems. i'm just using the swipe lock screen.
i'd suggest you start with the cloudy rom for at least a few weeks and try other custom roms if you want to.

oh double tap to wake and sleep works on every rom. you may use screen off and lock app from google play if you want to use another launcher like nova as well.
i like cloudy because i think lg has the best stock android experience when it's compared to other phones.
cm and other custom roms' cameras are really bad as well, they don't have the driver that lg stock roms have.
if you think these custom roms are enough for you and you need kind of better speeds, then yeah go for it and install them.
Is there a cloudy rom based on lollipop? Or only Kk? I couldn't find one...
just finished installing CM and everything
it was so easy!! even easier then in my old nexus 5!
thank you so much!!

Factory reset

When I go through the steps to do a factory reset, nothing happens. Over and over. Is there some secret? Enter the PIN, push the "button" and nothing.
If you're unable to perform a factory data reset from apps/settings/backup & reset, please try a hardware reset (this will erase all data, please back up important data).
Please see the following: http://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1006346

From what i know.. No because it's you flashed a system image that had root, now you have to flash a stock system image, then do a factory reset. So many people are trying to get back to stock, and there are some many issues.
Asus just post updates as .img files and make a .bat file that uses fastboot. It seems everyone can at least hold the power and vol up button to get to fastboot.

yes, just flash it back with stock rom which is downloadable via official asus support web.
remember to wipe cache for total hard resetting some stubborn files like busybox remain unless you rmdir using command which i dont encourage.
do temp CWM, delete all caches, wipe data then flash it
