Does anyone know if replacement screens are available for this device, I think it may just be the glass that has smashed if that makes any difference?
Looking like around £200 on eBay but hoping there's are chance of fixing myself for cheaper
Any help is much appreciated
Admin request, sorry brain fart alert, would you be very kind and move this to the Gear S Smartwatch Q&A
Cheers

Hello everyone. My name's Pat, and I have been using this website quite frequently ever since I got my used TILT. I really appreciate all the effort that you users put in to help everyone, its very helpful to find these kind of forums. I have a vehicle that has over 185,000 miles on it because of a forum, so again, thanks for any help I receive from you all.
I have been somewhat happy with the TILT I bought used from a friends friend, but it has definitely been abused before I got it. The whole phone is failing day by day.
Because of this forum, I have decided that I am going to purchase the TILT 2, looks like an awesome phone. I work in the automotive business with a lot of mechanical work, car washing, etc., and I want to protect my phone as best as possible. I am sure you guys would know whats best.
So here is what I was thinking, PLEASE feel free to bash or advise:
Smart phone experts screen protector: 12 bucks or so, seems like good quality
The Otter box crush proof 2500 medium waterproof case....could be very useful for me in certain situations...let me know what you guys think
IF possible, id like to also get the Otter box commuter hard case...not to sure if this would fit in the crush proof case they also sell.
Not sure if it is necessary, but i would also get that protective film from smart phone experts if its worth a crap.
Pocket pouch for out-of-work applications.
Now again, I work in a dirty, rough environment, I am going to protect this phone with however much $ necessary... Tips, suggestions, please let me know.
Also, I noticed there is a wireless "controller" for the phone that has a remote and wireless bluetooth...headset i guess you would call it. Blue vision is the mfg. The only reason I would use this, is so i could pick up important phone calls while working and not have to even touch my TILT 2. My argument is, if I have a 5minute pass lock on my phone, how the hell would I ever be able to use this remote control if i cant see my screen?
Again, thank you everybody for your time.
Title says all. I was goofing around and had my phone in my pocket and landed on it cracking the screen in the corner. Digitizer still works but where can I find a real honest to god OEM replacement screen?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-OEM-LCD-DISPLAY-SCREEN-REPLACEMENT-HTC-G2-DESIRE-Z-/350485715231?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item519a93991f
I don't want to get a cheap ripoff replacement but this looks legit (I guess) Anyone care to give an expert input on if I should get this or not?
Much thanks in advance. (Back to my Moto RAZR V3 til then)
are you sure you broke the digitizer, the lcd screen, or both?
the digitizer should cost you around $20
what you posted is the actualy lcd screen
I would buy from a US seller just avoid any complications.
check the feedback rating on the ebay seller you are buying from
chances are, they have sold the exact prduct before. See what other buyers have to say about their purchase
The digitizer is fine. I checked the function using droid explorer screencast. I cracked the LCD.
I just don't want to replace the screen with some knockoff poor quality LCD.
Thanks for the reply.
Then buying any lcd screen on ebay should be fine. You should understand that generally people on ebay aren't trying to sell you fake or non quality products, unless its blatantly a scam or too good to be true. Buy from a US seller just in case something goes, its easier to deal with. China and other overseas sellers may be able to get you the same product for less, but transit times can take a while. And paypal only has a 45 day grace period for opening disputes to get your money back, in case things go terribly wrong.

And there's many teardown guides on youtube to get you going. Easy peasy, as long as you're gently and can handle things carefully
By the way, Use the thanks button. A lot better than saying thanks in a post
Gotcha.. I whacked that button for you.
Tearing into the phone won't be an issue. The seller I have linked above is stateside so I will go ahead and purchase that and hopefully be tossing the V3 into backup phone status.
Hello, I'm trying to find somewhere that can replace my Nexus's screen at a reasonable price.
The screen is not broken, just has a few scratches...I hate scratches.
So if someone could kindly point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated!

Hate to tell you but your best options are to get a screen protector that does a decent job of covering up the scratches, or sell it as is and get another one with no scratches. The screen assembly for these phones is 150-200 and dont know of anyone that just replaces the digitizer at a reasonable price. (since it is almost impossible to separate the lcd from the digitizer) You should be able to get a fair amount for your Nexus even with a few scratches so if I were you , I would sell it and get another one but your call. Good luck!

what about this?

I really don't know the quality or if it's original or not, but it's cheap and may worth a try.

Thank you for the reply, I thought that'd be the case but just needed a second opinion.
I've seen Nexus on craigslist for $150 with no scratches.
I'll try to sell my old one on ebay for $120 or something.

Ya, but the digitizer is really hard to remove from the screen itself. I checked with all the local repair shops, they all say the same thing.
...But thanks for checking

Are you sure you are looking at the Galaxy Nexus and not the Nexus S's or the Nexus' ones? I know this phone has depreciated quite a bit recently but 120 is awfully cheap for this phone. On Craigslist in Toronto here they are going for 350-400.
Ya, they're Verizon Galaxy Nexus, you can find many phones pretty cheap here in Texas Craigslist if they're more than a year old.
ebay is another story though.
I just bought my pro 8.4 less than 2 weeks ago and some how I broke the lcd.. The screen looks perfect till its turn on.. Then u see cracks and the screen all messed up. Now what do I do? Can I get parts. Where and how much or is there a place that does it reasonably priced? I can't even find YouTube videos on replacing the lcd on the pro 8.4. Please any suggestions would be really appreciated.. I loved the tablet and want it saved!
This doesn't answer your question, but did you by any chance purchase with a credit card? I've noticed many have accident/theft coverage for up to 120 days after purchase. If not, you can call Samsung to find out options. Google took me here http://www.etradesupply.com/samsung/tablet/samsung-galaxy-tab-pro-8-4-sm-t320-replacement-parts.html then http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2710711 post 8 says it's same teardown as for galaxy 4 10.1 2014.

Snap the backcover off and go to town. It'll be a blast. These days everything you need to take off to get to the screen is just plugs that snap right off their port.

That's what I found too. The digitizer isn't broke, the actual LCD is. I'll have to call Samsung to see my options. I think i'm ass-out for a while cuz i really wouldn't think the lcd is available yet and if it is its gonna be almost as much as the tablet! Sux! At least i have my Galaxy Note 10.1 2012 .. gt-n8013 with now kk with air command on it. The screen on the 8.4 pro was a billion times sharper and it was way faster and i love the leather back! Thans for your help.. Anything else comes up that can help just please let me know.
Thanks again guys!

Now on your ebay link it looks like the lcd and screen digitizer are sold together .. I did know that they sold em together. If that's the case, that's a much easier fix cuz removing the screen/digitizer from the lcd assembly looks like a pain in the assz! Thanks for your help! If anything else that comes up that will help me out, let me know
Thanks again guys!
Oh, off topic question, how many posts do i have to make to be able to post in development sections of the forums, i usually have alot to offer in the development sections but don't have the privileges to post there. What do i have to do to make it possible for me to help in these sections, i have alot to offer!
I'm pretty sure they are glued together on the assembly in your tablet too. In order to separate them you'd need a heat gun and a lot of patience. But it's doable. You'd be able to clean the adhesive off the screen gently afterwards. But yes, to save room the manufacturers these days glue the two parts together, hence why they are also sold as glued together. But I've seen people separate them with a heat gun before. And yes, it is a mess, no matter what. Buying the full assembly would be much more fun and also faster.
Soo here it goes....a few days ago I dropped my phone vertically ie headphone jack side straight to the ground while I was using it(Thanks to my slippery hands) and now the screen has shattered a little on the bottom around the fingerprint area but everything is fine touch works display works its just the glass above it cracked, I went to a local shop nearby (I dont think going to a lenovo service center with a shattered screen will help as it can only shatter my pocket) and they reckoned it to be around 2400rs or 37$ for a 99% copy I guess and 800rs extra or around 50$ for a original one so I did a little research online and found I can get one display with lcd for as low as 19.60$ on alixpress,I'm confused between these three ones this one's 19$ but no customer or seller reviews but with slight fast shipping in just 15-25 days(https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32856511836.html), other two are about 24$(One's 23.16$ another is 24.20$)with good rating and orders and normal 30 days shipping (https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32796869178.html)(https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32825740296.html) if you have any other suggestions or experience buying one its most welcome, now coming to the tutorial part this one seems legit the best one I found (https://youtu.be/-osJu7OMxVk)this chinese forum post had one guy do it and posted about 100+ pics while replacing it but now I can't seem to open it anymore :crying: (http://bbs.lenovomobile.cn/z2/t260432/) here too if you get any better ones please suggest also there are a tons of teardown videos too if someone can make me understand lol,I'm a noob when it comes to replacements, teardown things and my first time and I have to make sure not to **** up as I can't buy another phone for at least a year, the post I made is lengthy with every details is because some day someone else will be in the same spot and I hope this post comes to their help too...
Now I need answers to these-
1)Can I do it myself or should I get it done for almost the double price considering this will be my first time doing this.
2)The best choice among the lcd+digitalizer according to you
3)A suitable tutorial to do it myself at home
Thanks a lot

Get only the glass replaced by a professional, no need to change the display. It'll cost less than ₹1,000
IF its possible change only digitizer
But that operation cannot be done without special tools for heating etc, putting back can be tricky
As for buying new screen, see if you can find on your local advertising sites some Z2 with dead motherboard
Original is always best
If you buy from Ali, buy the most expensive one because those cheaper can destroy your experience with the phone...
Read feedback always on Ali

Also be aware of the fingerprint scanner. I think that should he also disassembled, or ask seller does it have fingerprint scanner with lcd... Read about that
If you don't have experience, I would say go with the service center. Opening this phone can be tricky.
