[Q] Stuck In Bootloop! Need serious help - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok so here's how it all started:
My phone was randomly shutting off and rebooting on its own. At first, I thought it was overheating because the phone was very hot and when it cooled down, the problem was somewhat fixed.
Now, the phone randomly shuts off and reboots 90% of the time and I don't know why. It has a bootloop problem, but for some reason, I can occassional get my phone to load fully if I plug it in to charge, but it goes back into a bootloop after a few minutes or use. I tried a factory reset and it didn't work. In fact, it bricked my phone as it's now in a bootloop.
I tried a normal Flash using LG Flash Tool 2014 but for some reason it always crashes. First, it gives me a "Connection to server failed" error. But for some reason, the LG Tool keeps working as the status bar % goes up during the "upgrading phone" phase. However, when it reaches 99%, the LG Flash tool crashes. I tried both a normal Flash AND a CSE Flash. Both didn't fix the problem. It could be because the Flash Tool crashed, but nowhere on this forum does anyone talk about a fix to the "connection to server failed" error or the LG Tool crashing. Now after the initial flash, however, my phone does turn on and load up, but I get the same issue as before where the phone would crash/reboot after less than a minute of use. Then it bootloops after.
Am I the only one with this problem? If you have a solution, please let me know! My phone's useless at the moment. If I you can figure out why my flash tool crashes, that would be great too because if I can get the tool not to crash, it might flash properly.
Please and Thank you.
I have a LG G3 D855 International (Taiwan Version TW) running Lollipop 5.0

Have you tried the lg flash tool without the 2014 after it? I mean using the dll and tot files?
Usually if one does not work for me the other does. Just depends on how my phone decides to work lol

Sadly, I can't use the TOT method because they don't have my version which is Taiwan TW D855.

hi there. when you turn your phone on does the LG logo just coming in and out slowly? like blinking slowly? if yes, try to buy a new battery. i had that same problem. i cant even use my phone anymore because it just kept on shutting down. i can only use my phone when its plug into a wall charger. when i remove it to the wall charger it shuts down and the LG logo will start to come in and out as if blinking slowly. i tried factory reset a lot of time but didnt solve the problem. so i went to the LG service center and they just put in a new battery and it worked fine after..

Thats great! Same thing is happening to me, my new battery is on the way. Hopefully it will work

Same symptoms here - started as random reboots under heavy load or using the camera, so tried reflashing from v21a LL KDZ.
Then bootlooping just after the LG logo, occasionally getting as far as fully booted, but then restarting near immediately.
Doesn't happen when connected to power.
Tried a different battery, and no problems.
Tried my battery in another G3 - identical behaviour there.
Note: also happens on Marshmallow.
Solution: New battery!
Thanks to posters above.

Random Reboots and Bootloops

I flashed 30c firmware with flashtool 2014 over rooted 21a (i think) on my D855 from Greece. I selected the normal flash to keep my files and apps, phone mode: DIAG and didn't clear the update registry. Phone worked normal for a week and then went into a boot loop. The phone randomly restarts and goes into loops for a while and then snaps out of it.
I have tried the following and none have fixed the issue:
-Replaced the battery.
-Upgraded to 30f over lg pc suite hoping it would fix it but it didn't.
-Flashed 30c and 30f over LG Flash tool with CS_EMERGENCY mode and cleared the updated registry.
-LG Flash tool wont flash any older lollipop kdz I tried. The phone screen flashes once but stays at 0% and then I receive a phone disconnected message.
-Put the device into safe mode and used the option on lg pc suite to fix upgrade errors. Didn't fix anything lol
-Tried factory reset. Nothing happened after I selected the yes on the confirmation.
-Tried to use LGUP hoping to install a lollipop kdz but it gives me an error message that I have to select a known model. Restarting the app and the phone didn't work either.
-Tried a guide on how to unroot and return to stock with the kitkat .tot file .
I really have no idea what else to try. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's the first thing I tried on my list of failed attempts to fix the problem as you can see... Brand new battery. No change.
DjCaprio tried 4 different batteries as you can see.
This is just terrible!

I tried removing the battery while connected to the pc via usb already. The other trick that involves editing a file requires root.
My phone started flashing the blue screen of death today so I finally took it to LG so they can check it out. Either way thanks for trying to help.

LG G3 boot loop, any solution?

Hi all, I've had some issues with my G3 and have got to the point where I need the advice of wiser heads to try and fix the problem!
The phone seemingly died during an update a few weeks ago, but I was able to fix it using LG's tool and upgrading to Marshmallow. Then a few days ago with no warning the phone froze, and gets stuck in a bootloop at the LG screen, with the flashing LED. If I try to factory reset, I just end up with the Android Droid with a red triangle and I can't get any further. I've tried numerous guides I've found to try and reinstall the stock firmware, all without success. (I haven't tried accessing bootloader as I have download mode available). LG's own tool gets stuck at 4% when I try to recover, and I've tried the LG Flash Tool but get an error at 6% (LAF_READ_GPT_FAILED) using the 8974 dll. I've also tried the LGUP tool but that gets stuck at 6% (Error can't communicate with phone[Kilo Packet]. The phone was not rooted and is a 16GB UK version (model D855). I just seem to be going in circles now trying to find a solution, I suspect somewhere along the line I'm using the wrong combination of programs/TOT/DLL files so I could really do with someone pointing me in the right direction here!

Full unroot got me stuck

Hello, I wanted to unroot my phone from SuperSU, using the Fully unroot thingy that it has. After letting it be for awhile i realized it was just only at the bootup screen where the LG logo is and blue light was slowly blinking. Now I've tried LG flash tool to get me back to factory settings and I've tried different .kdz files, none of them seems to work. Furthest I got: I saw the firmware's name on my phone screen for a few seconds and then it dissappeared. Always LG Flash Tool fails after 9% and it says "Upgrade stopped due to an error." I have no idea what to do anymore with my phone. Any help is appreciated! Computer only recognises my phone when it's in firmware update mode.

Help my G3 might be hardbricked (hopefully only softbrick)

Hello, I would like to ask if my LG G3 is softbricked or hardbricked. It has been a long while since it decided to boot loop. I tried to fix it but got no results. I tried to factory reset it, but the next day it didn't turn on anymore and got stuck in the logo. Note : the phone was experiencing some heating issue before it decided to screw itself up. I tried numerous troubleshooting from the net, none worked. I also did try to reinstall the firmware to stock again, it did boot but it can't get to the home screen. I then factory reset it again and tried using another firmware also built for my phone (it's LG G3 D855). It failed again at 33% while it was in the firmware update mode. Now that I have left it for a solid year, I thought that it would be nice to try again. Which I did, but it couldn't charge anymore and it cannot boot to the logo. I tried to go to the download mode but no response. I tried connecting it to my computer, but it only detects my phone as a charge only device, it also detects it on only several random occasion. I hope this is a softbrick and it can be fixed at home so I don't need to go to the store to repair it.
I'm sorry for the long explanation, I had been trying to revive it for months now and had no luck. How do I fix this, at least how do I get to the firmware update download mode again? I really really hope that anyone can help. Thankyou so much in advance.
