Alumania z3 Compact machined aluminum bumper - Xperia Z3 Compact Accessories

In case nobody has seen it yet...

Might get one myself, it is quite pricey though at ¥8,640. At the time of this post that's about $72 without shipping :crying:
If any body DOES have this case, i'd like to know the quality and how much bulk it actually adds to the feel of the phone.

Looks bulky, especially on the bottom.
You're better off with a Devilcase bumper. I'm very happy with mine along with their front and back tempered glass protectors. $50 for everything incl shipping.

This one looks too bulky on the sides. The Devilcase appears to be the better choice.

hey, i kinda like the design of this! i'm digging the big buttons. not digging the price though!

Devilcase is cheaper, and looks to be slimmer.

Recommend Cheap Case For Around $10

Can someone recommend a cheap case for around $10? I've been running the Captivate naked but I think it's about time I consider getting some protection for it. The reason why I've been running it naked for so long is because I don't like the added bulk and heft they bring. However, nothing is perfect in this world and I'd rather suffer from added bulk and heft than risk scratching my Captivate. Of course the slimmer and lighter they are, the better. It'd be great if I can also access the buttons easily.
Doing a quick search, I've come across Otterbox Impact for $7.50 + shipping on Amazon, or I can get a Body Glove for $7.95 + shipping. Or I can just get those cheap silicone cases, but they can get dirt in pretty easily. My friend has a silicone case for his iPod Touch and it looks nasty if you don't keep it clean.
With all the threads on cases, you felt the need to start this one? The Body Glove is probably the simplest and best case out there in your price range.
Between those two get the otterbox. It feels much nicer in the hand and slides in and out of the l

There's someone in the Body Glove Mirage thread with the exact opposite opinion. I guess these kinds of things vary from person to person

Yes because they all look so bulky and hefty (from pictures and reviews) anyways, and well, there's a reason why I kept my phone naked for so long. Don't want it bulky and heavy.
@Others. Thanks. I'll take a look.
I have an Ebay gel case, it's an amzer copy and adds very little bulk, and slides in and out of my pocket fine.. plus no plastic snaps to break when removing it.
FWIW, I got the Otterbox Impact through Amazon as well and am really happy with it. I checked out the Body Glove case and didn't like it, but as said everyone has their own opinions.

I'd do this: the super-cheap TPU cases actually provide better protection them most expensive ones. TPU, not silicone.

I have a TPU case, and while it seems to add protection and is resistant against dirt, it is not resistant at all against grime and fingerprints. I swear the thing has layers and layers of fingerprints on it.
I ordered the Body Glove case and hope it doesn't have the same issues.

So TPU is like silicone but better? Reading that Wiki page reminded me of chemistry, which I did not do well on.
Argh $20 at FS. Might as well get Otterbox. I remember seeing some of the Otterbox cases, there's a plastic thing like silicone, which I guess is TPU and then there's a hard plastic for the back. Technically I can use it without the hard plastic, which would remove some bulk and weight I guess.

Yeah, even for employees the case is like $12.
Amazon and eBay have TPU cases for <$5 shipped (US, anyway). They're pretty much all from the same Chinese factories, so it won't much matter...
The Body Glove is TPU with some texturing.

I'm going to have to agree with this guy.
I have THIS and it is waaaay better than I would have given it credit for, if I hadn't bought it on recommendation from someone I trusted.
It is lightweight, no clips, protects the edges, is not bulky, does not show fingerprints, and is nearly see through in a smoky sort of way, but you still see the diamond pattern just enough to make it look like a $30 case.
I really cannot recommend it enough.
I've had mine for about 3 months now and if I ever lose it, there would be no other option for a replacement. I'm only buying this version as long as I have a Captivate.
For what it's worth, I also bought THIS because it was so damn cheap.......and it's flimsy, feels cheap, and gets fingerprints on it while collecting lint as well.
Stick with the Amzer, if you're not impressed with it, then there's no pleasing you.

This is TPU. The one you didn't like is silicone. See what I mean?
Dude, this is what you want:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Smoke-TPU-Skin-...539794?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item20b50de392
2.95 shipped
This is what I have for my Captivate and I really like it. It is not too bulky, does not have a belt clip, is much sturdier than a silicone case (I personally like it better than my brother's Body Glove case), and I have not had any issues with dirt getting inside the case: http://cgi.ebay.com/Black-TPU-Skin-...294862?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2c58ea0d4e
I bought mine as part of a $9.99 accessory package, which included a wall charger, car charger, USB cable, and the TPU case.
Cases are such a personal preference - some people like bigger heftier cases that provide maximum protection, whereas other people like more minimal cases that offer some protection but don't detract from the form factor of the phone. In my case, I fall within the latter category. When I used an iPhone, I usually opted for the Incipio Feather, the Griffin Reveal, or a simple skin (from Best Skins Ever or Invisible Shield).
Overall, I am very happy with the TPU case.
Thanks guys. I think I'll go with the cheap TPU that joeybear linked, but in a different colour and design. Maybe I'll buy a Otterbox Impact as well if I have to buy something from Amazon (HTC Desire screen protector and case)
Edit: Gg. The link by joeybear and JOLiu doesn't ship to Canada. Now I gotta spend more on Amazon or buy from other eBay shops, which is a lot more expensive and who knows how good the product from them is.

Rearthusa Extremely thin case(+Screen Protector) for our Galaxy Note

Ive done business with them in the past with my sgs2. I ordered about 5 different cases and used there matte screen protectors with no issues. I emailed them a month ago to release something for the galaxy note and they came through. Very high quality cases and screen protectors. Will post update once I recieve mine.

That material looks very slippery. Are the sides "grippy?"
I love the headphone jack and micro USB caps to protect it from dust! Might grab a metallic color one!
I want their Steel Bumper series on my Note.
I like to looks of this. Does anyone have this case yet? I know it is silicone but is it more rigid than a regular tpu case?

Dear ericshmerick,
Hi,
I'm really sorry for the confusion. Our design made a mistake on the
detail description. However, this Kit does not have a lanyard with the
package. We are still working on an accessories option so that you can
purchase a lanyard separately. I hope this help. If you have any other
questions feel free to let me know.

So in other words, they advertised to include a 0.5 cent part but will instead offer if later for sale even though it's advertised as included.
Keep it classy rearth. No sale for me (and it was in my cart ready to purchase).
wow, that looks amazing.
I received my case last week. Unlike my great experience with sgs2, I received a damaged retail box and a case with buff marks all over it. Was very unhappy but they are sending me a brand new one now. Will post a short review when I receive the new one.
Like the poster above stated it does not come with a lanyard. Screen protector is pretty good though.
Just a few quick pics. Came in the mail today. Overall has a nice fit to it. The case is quite slick(slippery), yet feels okay in the hands because of the lack of lip around the entire face. It does get smudged quickly and it is noticible. It is a soft silicon type but much more rigid once on and the slickness actually helps the feel of the unit gliding in and out of your pocket.
Around the case basically the button areas are cutout and the sides are half covered by this(bumper part) of the case, hence no lip on the sides.
The top and bottom both have a decent lip to allow faceplanting of the Note. And the Stereo Headphone port and Micro Usb both have plugs to keep the dust away, very nice touch.
The screen protector is also better than the 5pk for $4.00 ebay special, as it has the entire face covered with the exception of the ft cam notch where it is blank in the space right above the cam itself.
In the first pic my I4 with Cleave Aluminum Bumper is shown for size along with the Note with Rearth case.
This case is quite nice. I basically echo everything previously said.
It's kind of a pain to get off if you need to change the battery though, but that goes for most hard cases like this I guess. I already have a screen protector on so I'm not touching the one that came with the case yet.
- Frank
I just got mine yesterday, and I have to say I am EXTREMELY disappointed in my purchase. I paid $28.00 for a case that is sub-par to the hard shell Nillkin I bought for about $10. The case is slick, shiny, easily smudged, and provides absolutely NO protection to the Note. If there was a single good thing I could say about it, it is the fact that it IS thin. It's like having no case at all. At the very least, they could have made it a matte finish. It's worth about $10.
This is about the 3rd or 4th different brand of case I have tried for my Note.
Save your money.
I agree with yeahmon. This case is expensive!!!
Go get a Nillkin ultra slim hard case instead. Only US$9.99 and comes with a screen protector too. Free shipping.
http://www.obostore.com/Nillkin-Ult...Faceplate-for-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-p-3357.html
I bought one and measured it. Only about 11mm thick. Great and nice fitting case with good quality material.
More colours at a slightly higher price at US$12.49.
http://www.obostore.com/Nillkin-Shi...Faceplate-For-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-p-3356.html
US$27.99? I can buy 2 cases and have change left.
There are a lot of nice hard cases in obostore at a really good price. Go take a look guys and gals.
a matte version does exist

I have ordered this case as well but can not yet comment on it's quality, or lack thereof, since it has not yet reached me.
I will certainly comment on that once I have some experience.
They do have a matte finished black case though.
In fact I ordered a matte one, even though I visually prefer the shiny black version (they call it noble black). To avoid exactly the problems you are describing (easily smudged and scratched). As said, I can not comment on this actually being the case and certainly will report back on this.

What case are you comparing it to? The one in ddeath's post?
Compared to that Nillkin case, the Ringke case offers better protection since the bottom has zero protection on the nillkin case. It's not only covered on the Ringke case but the Ringke also has caps for the headphone/usb ports so you don't get lint in them.
Yes, the Nillkin case is cheaper. And I also shouldn't have gotten the shiny case. But from a protection standpoint it's exactly as advertised. I don't understand the dissapointment.
I'll probably use this case as a daily driver and swap it with a thicker, higher protection case for 'heavy days' (trips or whatever).
- Frank
Disregard this post
I bought their case two weeks ago, and I am reasonably happy with it. I bought the one with "matte black" finish, so it was not slippery. Feels pretty solid in hand, actually.
All the cutouts on the case are very precise. The rubber caps help a lot. But as everyone said, the lanyard was missing, so I emailed their support and they sent me a lanyard in a separate mail very shortly. The lanyard looks exactly like what the photo shows, but I don't know how to attach the lanyard, because the case was so tight, I don't see a hole where I can attach the string. If anyone knows, please enlighten me.
Because the case is so slim, I feel its primary purpose is to prevent scratches on the front, side and back in daily use. But I personally would doubt its shock absorption capability when you drop it.
This case is more for people who like to go naked. It adds no extra bulk to the note. And it will protect it from some small drops. It will protect from the housing getting scratched.
Its not for people who need maximum protection but for people who want something that's barely there.

good grip case

Hope someone can help out,
I have the Diztronic case, it had a ton of good reviews on Amazon, I like it a lot, adds little bulk, which I want, but still not as much "grip" as I'd like. I briefly had the Rocketfish, while it had good grip, the cover over the buttons made it difficult to push them, it's much better with the Diztronic. The Hyperion sounds like it has what I want, except some have mentioned that same issue with the buttons difficult to press. Been searching a ton trying to find something. Hate to spend another $10 plus $5 for shipping from Amazon to find out a case isn't what I expected.
Has anyone tried the Tudia case?
Thanks

I am currently using this case:
Search amazon for SUPCASE moto x, its the first one.
(sorry, cant post links yet)
The SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Hybrid case for Moto X:
It fits PERFECTLY and is pretty grippy on just the edges. The back is very matte and is perfect for sliding in your pocket and not sticking. It is pretty thin-doesn't add much bulk at all. It even has the dimple in it! (I love the dimple) The buttons are a little stiff at first, but i found they wear in after about 5 or 6 days, and become really easy to press. After about 2 weeks, you can actually feel the tactile click of the buttons easily. It also comes with a really nice screen protector (unfortunately mine had a crease in it when it arrived- caused a huge bubble so i took it off). For $14, this is better than the cases that Motorola sells on its website.

Thanks. It looks like it has a bit more bulk, I guess it's just the design that appears that way? I do want to keep it as bulk free as possible.
Wondering if anyone has tried the Hyperion, if it has good grip on the sides and back. Some posted the buttons are difficult to press, but I'd consider cutting out with an exacto knife over the buttons.
Just ordered the Hyperion case, sounds like what I'm looking for, slim, unbranded, and grippy on the sides with cutout for the dimple. Also comes with a screen protector, but I already have what I presume is superior (Armor Suit screen protector) I just haven't put it on yet

Yeah, the case is a tad bulky, but not so much that its bothersome. How is the Hyperion case? Im curious.
Also, i have the ArmorSuit screen protector, but i couldn't stand it when it was on- it really cut down on the quality of the screen, although I think i may have still had a little moisture in between. I just took it off. My case has raised edges, so im not too worried about scratches

Any good quality budget cases in the $8-$12 range?

So I had the Incipio DualPro in black. Costs about $8 on Amazon. It did it's job. I dropped it more than once, but one day awhile ago when I dropped it the corner cracked. Still works great, though.
I'm looking for something similar, preferably that doesn't show fingerprints? Also needs to have a flat back. I also like that's it's harder and not that flexible rubber stuff like the Spigen Rugged Armor appears to be.

This is my favorite case so far:
http://a.co/4AIQhzN
Incipio from Amazon. Sells for $8, I chose used but it was clearly new in box - must have been a return. $5 shipped and is great quality.
I bought the Ringke Air clear case from Amazon for $10, and it is nice. The only issue is that the cutouts are a little "crisp" on the bottom edge, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, except that if you hold the phone with one finger on the bottom edge, the cutout edges can be a little uncomfortable. I'm thinking of either rounding the cutout edges myself, or adding some type of stick-on padding to the bottom edge of the case without blocking the holes.

Can give a +1 to the Ringke case. Got it today, and is easy to install and remove (which is important if you have more than one battery) and offers great drop/shock protection. Costs around $10.
Give the Ringke Fusion a try. Feels solid, fits well, and looks good. Prices should be around what you have.

First post here and not able to post links but you can find these cases on Amazon. I enjoy having some type of case around my phone. Props to the brave ones that run around case free. I have two for my v20.
My favorite would have to be the Tridea Power Guard Premium carbon fiber design. Nice protection for the camera and face if you have your phone face down. This case is a lot sturdier than the one below but easy to take off if you swap batteries like I do. And if you use some finger nail polish remover and some good time rubbing it off, all the white type on the back can come off. Looks much cleaner with that off.
The Spigen Rugged Armor case is nice too. A lot less firm as the case above. Good protection for the camera and face of the phone as well. I think the Tridea case above offers more space between the camera and surface you put it on though.
Both those cases work well with the Supershieldz tempered glass protector I have on the screen.

Extra thin case? Totallee or something cheaper?

I'm looking for the thinnest, sleekest case possible for my s10+. Does anybody have any experience with the totallee cases? They look nice, and they get mentioned in all the case roundup articles. But $29 is super pricey for a thin case like this.

Really none, it's basically flush. When I set the phone face down with that case on it kind of feels like the screens not touching but I can't slide a piece of paper under it.
Here are some photos I just took.
I have the totalee case, fit and finish is whats expected from these kinda cases, which is what I love, but if you can find the same thing cheaper from another brand buy it, they really are all the same.
Check out MNML. Almost identical to Totallee, but much less expensive (around $18 with shipping and first time buyers discount). They ship from China, so expect 2-3 weeks for shipping.

I used to have a Peel case for my Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 3 XL. They were really thin, had a white-ish variant that showed some transparency. I was thinking about getting one for my S10+, but ended up sticking with Samsung's silicone case. I like the grip.

I'm looking for the thinnest, sleekest case possible for my s10+. Does anybody have any experience with the totallee cases? They look nice, and they get mentioned in all the case roundup articles. But $29 is super pricey for a thin case like this.
What do y'all think? Is there anything better or cheaper than this one?

Usually these non brand PP cases are 99 cents from China since this is X-Level branded it's a little more. I replace every few months because over time from wireless charging or heat, corners tend to expand.

I have the clear Totalee but for $28.99 it yellows too quick. I use the clear X-Level but going to try this one in clear white - I used the crystal for my Pixel 3 and replaced every 2-3 months but seemed like thinner better case than Totallee for the money
I have 3 thin cases:
Pitaka - Most expensive, somewhat slippery, carbon fibre material gets dirty quickly with palm grease / sweat, Looks good, no raised corners for placing phone screen down.
Nillkin Frosted Shield - Has raised corners, good grip, cheap, looks decent.
Spigen Thin Fit Air (Black) - Skinniest and grippiest of the 3. Soft feel material shows palm grease / sweat. No raised corners. Note: I can only vouch for grip on the black version (soft feel). Spigen cases in non-black colours can be slippery (no soft feel material).
I use Nillkin the most whenever I need a slim case. It's the perfect balance of grip, looks and raised corners.

Really none, it's basically flush. When I set the phone face down with that case on it kind of feels like the screens not touching but I can't slide a piece of paper under it.
Here are some photos I just took.

Tried one of these and ended up sending it back. The sandstone finish started peeling and flaking off after about two days.
Then I tried one of the leather cases from ESR; I liked the feel of the Samsung leather case but didn't want to pay $50 for it. That one was a bust too. The case was thicker than I expected, and the corners didn't sit flush against the phone. Bummer.
So I went ahead and ordered the Totallee. It'll be here tomorrow, and I'll report back!
I have the Pitaka one and I like it a lot. Super thin... Don't drop the phone.

The Totallee case is really nice. Unbelievably thin, and a great fit. Not sure if it'll survive too many drops, but it's super comfy to hold and it looks awesome. Nice little lip around the camera bump, but not obtrusive like on the Spigen thin case. No lip on the front though. I'll be getting a Whitestone Dome Glass shortly, and I don't think it'll have any problems fitting with this case.
Two tiny complaints. One, it's a little more slippery than I expected. The smooth finish on the solid black case doesn't provide much in the way of grip. And finally, the case is just about the same thickness as the phone's buttons, so the buttons now sit more or less flush with the sides of the case. Makes it a little harder to find the buttons by feel, but I'll probably get used to that pretty quickly.
All in all, I'm extremely glad I spent the few extra bucks for this one. The Pitaka looks awesome too, but this was about as high as my price range could go and it's a good choice for me.
In my experience, Totallee cases are better compare with their direct competitors such as MNML. I also have tried cheap ultra thin cases as well and i can say that those from Totallee are with better quality and fit. With proper care, it will fit your device nicely for a long time.
I use the ultimate shield cases, its at least as good as totalee for lower cost.

Spigen thin fit is 10$ and unbelievably thin, you won't even realize it's there
