Extra thin case? Totallee or something cheaper? - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Accessories

I'm looking for the thinnest, sleekest case possible for my s10+. Does anybody have any experience with the totallee cases? They look nice, and they get mentioned in all the case roundup articles. But $29 is super pricey for a thin case like this.
What do y'all think? Is there anything better or cheaper than this one?

Personally, I am a fan of the Pitaka cases. Pricey, but at least for a reason. I made some pictures:

I agree with the Pitaka case. I got mine yesterday with their qi car mount. While they are pricey I couldn't be happier with the setup.

This one looks interesting. Hard to tell from the photos though - how much of a "lip" does it have at the top and the bottom? Any edge at all to protect the screen?

That looks great, but not sure if I can swing a $50 case - especially when I'm already springing for the $50 screen protector!

Really none, it's basically flush. When I set the phone face down with that case on it kind of feels like the screens not touching but I can't slide a piece of paper under it.
Here are some photos I just took.

I have the totalee case, fit and finish is whats expected from these kinda cases, which is what I love, but if you can find the same thing cheaper from another brand buy it, they really are all the same.

Check out MNML. Almost identical to Totallee, but much less expensive (around $18 with shipping and first time buyers discount). They ship from China, so expect 2-3 weeks for shipping.

https://rhinoshield.io/pages/crashguard look at the drop test, 11 feet, no harm.

I used to have a Peel case for my Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 3 XL. They were really thin, had a white-ish variant that showed some transparency. I was thinking about getting one for my S10+, but ended up sticking with Samsung's silicone case. I like the grip.

Usually these non brand PP cases are 99 cents from China since this is X-Level branded it's a little more. I replace every few months because over time from wireless charging or heat, corners tend to expand.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/254161735325/

I have the clear Totalee but for $28.99 it yellows too quick. I use the clear X-Level but going to try this one in clear white - I used the crystal for my Pixel 3 and replaced every 2-3 months but seemed like thinner better case than Totallee for the money

I have 3 thin cases:
Pitaka - Most expensive, somewhat slippery, carbon fibre material gets dirty quickly with palm grease / sweat, Looks good, no raised corners for placing phone screen down.
Nillkin Frosted Shield - Has raised corners, good grip, cheap, looks decent.
Spigen Thin Fit Air (Black) - Skinniest and grippiest of the 3. Soft feel material shows palm grease / sweat. No raised corners. Note: I can only vouch for grip on the black version (soft feel). Spigen cases in non-black colours can be slippery (no soft feel material).
I use Nillkin the most whenever I need a slim case. It's the perfect balance of grip, looks and raised corners.

Tried one of these and ended up sending it back. The sandstone finish started peeling and flaking off after about two days.
Then I tried one of the leather cases from ESR; I liked the feel of the Samsung leather case but didn't want to pay $50 for it. That one was a bust too. The case was thicker than I expected, and the corners didn't sit flush against the phone. Bummer.
So I went ahead and ordered the Totallee. It'll be here tomorrow, and I'll report back!

I have the Pitaka one and I like it a lot. Super thin... Don't drop the phone.

The Totallee case is really nice. Unbelievably thin, and a great fit. Not sure if it'll survive too many drops, but it's super comfy to hold and it looks awesome. Nice little lip around the camera bump, but not obtrusive like on the Spigen thin case. No lip on the front though. I'll be getting a Whitestone Dome Glass shortly, and I don't think it'll have any problems fitting with this case.
Two tiny complaints. One, it's a little more slippery than I expected. The smooth finish on the solid black case doesn't provide much in the way of grip. And finally, the case is just about the same thickness as the phone's buttons, so the buttons now sit more or less flush with the sides of the case. Makes it a little harder to find the buttons by feel, but I'll probably get used to that pretty quickly.
All in all, I'm extremely glad I spent the few extra bucks for this one. The Pitaka looks awesome too, but this was about as high as my price range could go and it's a good choice for me.

In my experience, Totallee cases are better compare with their direct competitors such as MNML. I also have tried cheap ultra thin cases as well and i can say that those from Totallee are with better quality and fit. With proper care, it will fit your device nicely for a long time.

I use the ultimate shield cases, its at least as good as totalee for lower cost.

Ive done business with them in the past with my sgs2. I ordered about 5 different cases and used there matte screen protectors with no issues. I emailed them a month ago to release something for the galaxy note and they came through. Very high quality cases and screen protectors. Will post update once I recieve mine.

I love the headphone jack and micro USB caps to protect it from dust! Might grab a metallic color one!
I want their Steel Bumper series on my Note.
I like to looks of this. Does anyone have this case yet? I know it is silicone but is it more rigid than a regular tpu case?

Dear ericshmerick,
Hi,
I'm really sorry for the confusion. Our design made a mistake on the
detail description. However, this Kit does not have a lanyard with the
package. We are still working on an accessories option so that you can
purchase a lanyard separately. I hope this help. If you have any other
questions feel free to let me know.

So in other words, they advertised to include a 0.5 cent part but will instead offer if later for sale even though it's advertised as included.
Keep it classy rearth. No sale for me (and it was in my cart ready to purchase).
wow, that looks amazing.
I received my case last week. Unlike my great experience with sgs2, I received a damaged retail box and a case with buff marks all over it. Was very unhappy but they are sending me a brand new one now. Will post a short review when I receive the new one.
Like the poster above stated it does not come with a lanyard. Screen protector is pretty good though.
Just a few quick pics. Came in the mail today. Overall has a nice fit to it. The case is quite slick(slippery), yet feels okay in the hands because of the lack of lip around the entire face. It does get smudged quickly and it is noticible. It is a soft silicon type but much more rigid once on and the slickness actually helps the feel of the unit gliding in and out of your pocket.
Around the case basically the button areas are cutout and the sides are half covered by this(bumper part) of the case, hence no lip on the sides.
The top and bottom both have a decent lip to allow faceplanting of the Note. And the Stereo Headphone port and Micro Usb both have plugs to keep the dust away, very nice touch.
The screen protector is also better than the 5pk for $4.00 ebay special, as it has the entire face covered with the exception of the ft cam notch where it is blank in the space right above the cam itself.
In the first pic my I4 with Cleave Aluminum Bumper is shown for size along with the Note with Rearth case.
This case is quite nice. I basically echo everything previously said.
It's kind of a pain to get off if you need to change the battery though, but that goes for most hard cases like this I guess. I already have a screen protector on so I'm not touching the one that came with the case yet.

I just got mine yesterday, and I have to say I am EXTREMELY disappointed in my purchase. I paid $28.00 for a case that is sub-par to the hard shell Nillkin I bought for about $10. The case is slick, shiny, easily smudged, and provides absolutely NO protection to the Note. If there was a single good thing I could say about it, it is the fact that it IS thin. It's like having no case at all. At the very least, they could have made it a matte finish. It's worth about $10.
This is about the 3rd or 4th different brand of case I have tried for my Note.
Save your money.
I agree with yeahmon. This case is expensive!!!
Go get a Nillkin ultra slim hard case instead. Only US$9.99 and comes with a screen protector too. Free shipping.
http://www.obostore.com/Nillkin-Ult...Faceplate-for-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-p-3357.html
I bought one and measured it. Only about 11mm thick. Great and nice fitting case with good quality material.
More colours at a slightly higher price at US$12.49.
http://www.obostore.com/Nillkin-Shi...Faceplate-For-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-p-3356.html
US$27.99? I can buy 2 cases and have change left.
There are a lot of nice hard cases in obostore at a really good price. Go take a look guys and gals.
a matte version does exist

I have ordered this case as well but can not yet comment on it's quality, or lack thereof, since it has not yet reached me.
I will certainly comment on that once I have some experience.
They do have a matte finished black case though.
In fact I ordered a matte one, even though I visually prefer the shiny black version (they call it noble black). To avoid exactly the problems you are describing (easily smudged and scratched). As said, I can not comment on this actually being the case and certainly will report back on this.

What case are you comparing it to? The one in ddeath's post?
Compared to that Nillkin case, the Ringke case offers better protection since the bottom has zero protection on the nillkin case. It's not only covered on the Ringke case but the Ringke also has caps for the headphone/usb ports so you don't get lint in them.
Yes, the Nillkin case is cheaper. And I also shouldn't have gotten the shiny case. But from a protection standpoint it's exactly as advertised. I don't understand the dissapointment.
I'll probably use this case as a daily driver and swap it with a thicker, higher protection case for 'heavy days' (trips or whatever).
- Frank
Disregard this post
I bought their case two weeks ago, and I am reasonably happy with it. I bought the one with "matte black" finish, so it was not slippery. Feels pretty solid in hand, actually.
All the cutouts on the case are very precise. The rubber caps help a lot. But as everyone said, the lanyard was missing, so I emailed their support and they sent me a lanyard in a separate mail very shortly. The lanyard looks exactly like what the photo shows, but I don't know how to attach the lanyard, because the case was so tight, I don't see a hole where I can attach the string. If anyone knows, please enlighten me.
Because the case is so slim, I feel its primary purpose is to prevent scratches on the front, side and back in daily use. But I personally would doubt its shock absorption capability when you drop it.
This case is more for people who like to go naked. It adds no extra bulk to the note. And it will protect it from some small drops. It will protect from the housing getting scratched.
Its not for people who need maximum protection but for people who want something that's barely there.

Which case do you think is best and why?

I m looking for a nice case on eBay that is not more than $50. Which case is your favorite and why?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I dont usually buy on ebay so i cant help much there. But i can tell you all the cases ive tried.
Otterbox Defender - did not fit well so i did not purchase at the store. Screen protector is lousy. Phone rattled in case.
Casemate Toughcase - again did not fit my gsm nexus well. Gaps in silicone and i do not like the larger than necessary gap between the usb and headphone plugs. Also was a dust magnet. Should have learned my lesson with the first toughcase i tried for my galaxy s.
Diztronic TPU - have two of these. Rev 1 both in matte black and matte smoke. Great cases except the volume rocker section but Rev 3 should address that. I recommend.
Rearth Ringke Slim - currently using this case. Color i have is matte black and it is a great case.
Case Mate POP! It is not too bulky, offers good protection, good grip without attracting lint. Fits the extended battery perfectly.

I have the casemate pop and Love it, but I need to use my ebay bucks so I figured why not get another case.
Had 3 cases for my Nexus as my review for them are as follows:
Case-Mate Barely There - Price was too high considering the kind of case you were getting. As it's known for, it provides very little protection but was also very slim. I would have less issue with it if it covered the top and bottom of the phones fully but it oddly didn't. With it on, it looked more like a shell instead of a case. I would not recommend this as it seems like you are paying for brand name here. Might as well get a full body protector from Zagg or Ghost Armor instead of this IMO.
Otterbox Commuter - This was a good case. If you are looking for something that will protect your phone without being extreme (like using the Defender) then this is perfect. Adds bulk for protection but also looks great as well. Best of both worlds and recommended for those that want above average protection while not needing it to look like a beast. Fairly difficult to take off so don't get it if you get into opening up your phone a lot.
Diztronic TPU Matte Smoke Grey - This was the best of the bunch for me. Price wise, it can't be beat at $10.00 with a workable screen protector. Looks wise, smoke grey is beautiful on the Nexus as it looks natural (Nexus is grey to begin with). It adds only a little bulk so it doesn't look like a case swallowed your phone. Feel wise, matte is definitely the way to go. I've had glossy cases before and it always left grime, oil, and fingerprints. Matte feels and looks very clean and provides a little grip. Protection wise, I'd say it provides average protection. I've always used TPU cases and they can take drops from normal heights. TPU is fine for my rather un-extreme lifestyle. Finally, Diztronic's customer service is top notch. Had an issue with the volume keys and they are sending me out a replacement case with the keys cut out. No need to return the old one. Would definitely buy from them again because of that as I have high confidence that they can rectify any issues.
So there you have my mini-reviews. It is obvious that I favor Diztronic as they seem to hit the sweet spot for my preferences. Best of all words in all the things that are important to me.
Hope you guys find a case that works well for you too.

They may be shatter proof, but they only protect the better cover and rear sides of the phone. It's a half-solution at best. Waiting on Rearth and will report back.

Case-Mate Tough Case: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420043 they're working on it.
I had bought a Case Mate Tough skin case for my phone, and it's had a lot of issues with the power button fit, it would turn off and on by touching the area anywhere near it. I looked around case-mate.com and noticed this case is not on their website, so I contacted Case Mate and they say it's a known issue, and are going to ship me a new one when they come in sometime during in the next 2-4 weeks.. Good customer relations.

Ghost Armor...
No added bulk, adds just enough extra grip, protects from scuffing/scratching. Obviously, not gonna give the same shock protection in a fall.. but then I've seen guys with TPU cases drop the phone and shatter a screen. (with gorilla glass)

Just got my Seidio Active today. As with all Seidio cases, it is awesome. I had the Incipio double case from Verizon, which is a similar concept. But the Active is a lot smoother and looks way better. Great amount of protection, minimal bulk. I actually prefer the way it feels with the case on compared to bare. It gives a nice feeling to the volume/power buttons.
As a bonus, I got the Royal Blue one, and the color perfectly matches the blue theme of ICS. I highly recommend it. There is also a version with a kickstand, too. Here is a link to what I got.
http://www.seidioonline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=CSK3SSGNL-RB
I'm a bit of a Seidio fanboy, as all of my devices have Active cases on them. But you can't really beat the protection and style. No huge logos, and the color of the hard shell really gives it a nice look. Dropping the phone with the case on barely does anything to the case, let alone the phone.

I have the kickstand-ed version and I must agree that it is a really well designed enclosure system. Works really well with the extended battery/cover. My previous Seidio case was the Active Extended for the Thunderbolt and that setup was the main reason why I decided on Seidio.
This is my favorite case and its probably the best value.

I can't decide... (yep another case thread)

I wanted a as slim as possible case and I wanted it to protect all the way around the perimeter of the phone. Here are the choices (in order from first to last), help me decide.
Rearth Ringke Slim - At $28 it's a bit expensive and it doesn't cover the sides. Also looks to be less grippy since it's hard smooth plastic.
BoxWave Blackout - I'm worried it's thicker than a case like the Rearth, but with that said it protects all around and is really cheap at $12. I think the material is more rubber like which sounds more appealing to a gloss hard case. Not many reviews anywhere for this case.
elago G4elago G4 - I'm not sure about this case in general.
Thanks for your input.
Personally I like the Leather style flip cases, The one that doubles up as a wallet.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACK-WAL..._MobilePhonesCasesPouches&hash=item3374db7913
I would never pay more than £10 (delivered) for a case.
in terms of slimness i've basically narrowed it down to two giants.
1. sgp ultra thin
2. casemate barely there.
not sure which ones better but from what i can tell they're pretty much the same, both at a hefty 25 bucks.
anyways, i'm in the same boat as you. XD
not sure which case to get.

I have the rearth and it is very slim, the only down side it is a beeeoootch to take off (i have a dock/charger for the phone) and if you take it on and off a lot it cracks and the part closet to the usb port cover, nothing earth shattering it actually makes it much easier to take the case off - that and the sgp ultra clear and it is almost like having nothing on the phone at all.
I have used diztronic cases for the last year (for my SII and now my N7000). They are very similar to the boxweave case you posted.
http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Fle...0386413&sr=8-3&keywords=diztronic+galaxy+note
As you know TPU protects like a silicon case but doesn't stick in your pocket or collect lint and dust due to it not being "sticky" feeling. I recently sold my SII for over $300 after 8 months of daily use because my SII was in perfect condition as a result of being in a diztronic tpu case. No, I never dropped the phone on cement or anything but I dropped my SII on the carpet from 5+ feet and the phone was unchanged when I picked it up. Didn't pop out of case or battery, etc. Because the tpu cases have a 1/8 or so "lip" on the front they also allow the phone to be placed face down on flat surfaces. IMHO and experience, a good tpu case is all you need to fully protect your phone unless you work in construction or somehow expect to drop it on cement.
So, my vote goes to the boxweave or diztronic cases. BTW I got 2 diztronics for $14 from amazon, the black matte and smoke matte. Great deal!
^I'm actually thinking of getting a real cheap TPU case like that I can mod. My ideal case is a TPU Bumper, maybe the Boxwave Black out without the back part but have the vol and power buttons cut out. I guess it's just not feasible so far... ?
Anyway, Thanks for the input so far guys, keep it coming.

for the Boxwave type which I got from Hongkong for 2 bucks.
Check amazon out, they have a lot of cases.
I also have the elago Breathe case, I love them I have two.
I ended up taking my chances on this. I guess it's going to be as close as I get. Thanks everyone, I'll let you know how it is when I get it.

I have the 3 of them
Go for the Rearth Ringke Slim , is THE BEST OF ALL !!!
Hi all, I'm in a similar dilemma.
I've got a choice between these two:
https://www.gearzap.com/media/catalog/product/3/4/34484-2.jpg
and
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HYBRID-SI...lePhonesCasesPouches&var=&hash=item416682f7b6
I know I should pick the Zenus, but would the inside bit that holds my phone scratch the outer bezel? And since the hybrid one has a silicon case THEN a hard outer shell I figured it would be good too. Any ideas?
Thanks!
I use a an SGP Ultra thin. Comfortable case. Considering the size of the phone the case is great. Merges with the Phone. +1 anytime.
I ordered this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160732471512?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649. It has a stand that works in both axis.

Bellroy Leather or Google Fabric case?

Both look pretty good. Which are you guys going with?
I have both and I really like the bellroy case. This is the first leather case I've ever had and I've got to say it feels good in the hands. Not a lot if bull either and I like how it covers all the edges instead of the fabric case being open at the Port. This year's fabric case however feels much nicer then the pixel 2 one. I feel the cases both add about the same bulk so either way I think that's okay. The leather one is offers a little more grip thou. If you have a TGSP applied the cases sit flush with that so they both feel great.
Thanks for the info. I'll probably go Bellroy then.
I have both, and like both. I kinda like the fabric one better because it's different. Bellroy might be better protection as it has a slight front lip that is non-existent on the fabric.
One observation I have is that the fabric case feels and looks like a pair of jeans, the leather of course feels and looks like leather. This gives me the feeling of more expensive versus less expensive. Nor sure if this matters or if you'd get the same vibe but it's there for me.
I have both cases as well. I prefer the bellroy as it has a raise lip around the edges to protect the screen. Also to me for some reason the bellroy just fits my hand better and feels just slightly slimmer. The fabric case feels wider and the fabric seems less grippy in my hand.

In my opinion the Google Case is far to expensive, very poor protection due to the huge outlets, not covering the edges of the screen, cheap plastic.
All for 45 bugs.
You´ll get an ugly UAG for the same prize, bullet proof however.

Amazing hand crafted leather cases, outstanding quality and finish.
"Available soon for the Pixel 3"
I have the google case and don't think i will ever change it. Maybe not the best protection but i almost never drop my phone and the feel is premium and very good when you hold the phone. Very satisfied.
Just throwing out that Nomad is also an option. Got one for my Pixel 3 XL and I'm loving it so far.

Love my nomad too! Expensive but great quality as far as i can tell!
I have both and like them equally. Both are slim and feel great. Fabric is improved over last year as I had one for my 2xl. The bellroy is also better after reading reviews from last year and seeing the improvements that the company made.
I just received a new case from simply carbon fiber and it's also sweet. Looks and feels great. So now I have 3 cases that I really enjoy and for a phone that deserves it.

I'm on the fence between the Nomad and the Bellroy. I've held the Bellroy and loved the feel and the leather wrapping around the sides, but the buttons were a little stiff. I've not seen the Nomad in person, but there appears to be more of a raised edge protecting the screen and it just looks more protective overall. I've heard the button feel is good and the leather looks more natural. I'm currently using a Google Fabric case which appears to have minimal protection, other than slight bumps and scratches on the back.

Sorry, but your link isn't working.
Anyone care for pictures of your cases? Most product pictures are touched and photoshopped... Interested in the Bellroy and the stock Pixel fibre case (carbon or indigo)...
I have the Bellroy leather case. It's ok...
However, I would suggest searching this case on EBay...
X-LEVEL For Google Pixel 3 XL Luxury Retro Leather UltraThin Back Case Cover NEW... it's 9 bucks, and is extremely well made. If you have ever seen the samsung slim leather case for the s10+, this is similar quality (samsung charges $50). I'll try to post an image...
I'm stunned at how nice this is.

S10 Plus confusion between UAG cases. Ice, Pathfinder and Monarch

I need to buy a new case for my prism white s10 plus. The UAG SERIES looks impressive. Please suggest one for me. The pathfinder black one seems to be a good choice but I'm confused with the monarch. Also, which color is better in monarch

I like the blacked out Monarch myself and it's one of my favorite cases.

But paying 1000$ for a phone is pretty sane =)
Have you previously used a UAG case? They look nice on paper but are bulky, uncomfortable to hold and feel like they are made from cheap materials when actually on your phone.
I ordered mine directly from UAG so I know it wasn't a knockoff and I hated it. I expected it to be more like an Otterbox case I guess in terms of providing a comfortable grip. UAG cases are definitely not grippy.
Some people do swear by UAG cases.
Have you looked at supcase? its a good alternative to uag especially if you go with the unicorn beetle series. I currently have one on my s10+ and while it isn't advisable, it has survived a fall from a scaffold at eaves level, with no major damage just a scuff to the the back plastic.
I had a UAG case for my note 8 and it was very uncomfortable in the hand.
I wouldn't say that the supcase is better for comfort just different. It has less pronounced ridges on the back but the sides seem thicker. It has raised rubbery nubs on the back in the corners to stop it sliding. A feature I didn't think would get much use on the supcase case was the kickstand, but I can safely say it is one of my most used features on the case, it is very stiff in the beginning for clipping in and out but with a little use becomes smooth and long lasting. its good as a handle in the hand and ,when standing, supports the phone vertically and horizontally
and it is £30 cheaper still military grade drop tested I highly recommend as I think the build quality is as good if not better than the note 8 case I owned

Yeah it is. Especially when you consider the phone is more technically a powerful multi-core computer which fits in your pocket, that is also capable of making calls...and the case is literally ONLY, a case.
I never have and never will spend more than $20 on a case, when all it is, is just a glorified piece of plastic and rubber.
